Rachel Zoe ‘Spent a Lot of Nights Dreaming’ About Karolina Kurkova’s Met Dress

There was one dress everyone couldn’t stop talking about after the Met Gala: Karolina Kurkova‘s custom Rachel Zoe Collection gown. FabSugar caught up with the designer behind the gold confection, Rachel Zoe, who divulged how such a stunning creation came to be.

“I spent a lot of nights dreaming about what I wanted it to look like,” she said. Long sleeves, a very low back and a high neck were all musts for the dress, but the much-talked about headpiece was a last-minute addition.

“It happened literally the day before,” the stylist-turned-designer revealed. ”I thought, ‘What can I add to really take it to the next level?’ So we made the turban-slash-head-wrap to give it that deco-glamour that [Elsa] Schiaparelli was so known for.”

Although the turban was the perfect topper to the gorgeous gown, the woman wearing it brought the whole look together. “Obviously when you put something on Karolina, it’s even better because it’s on Karolina,” Zoe commented.

Eva Longoria’s Cannes Ensembles: Not Quite Made for Walking

The Cannes Film Festival has only just begun, and already, Eva Longoria is making a very fashionable impression in her designer gowns. But looking so good isn’t always easy.

On Wednesday, Longoria walked the red carpet in a dreamy Marchesa gown (below), but the dress’s heft and lengthy train gave her a tiny bit of trouble as she moved along.

The next day, the actress (who just bid adieu to her TV series, Desperate Housewives) had an easier time moving in her white silk Emilio Pucci gown (left). But what photographers didn’t see? Longoria walking slowly down the stars with her bodyguard, “keeping me from falling,” she Tweeted.

Longoria is spending three days in Cannes on behalf of L’Oréal Paris. Before taking off for the French resort town, the actress Tweeted a photo of her multiple suitcases, handbag and trunk. “Too much luggage?” she joked. For Cannes? Never!

Lana Del Rey Inspires Designer Creations

Lana Del Rey‘s personal style is as unique as her inimitable voice — and designers are taking note. Silver Factory, an Irish denim and T-shirt brand, just released a pair of denim cut-offs inspired by the songstress (top right).

The washed-blue denim shorts — aptly named the “Lana” — are influenced by the pouty singer’s “retro style in [their] basic cut with dip-dyed, faded ends,” according to MTV Style. You can buy the shorts online here.

Silver Factory isn’t the first brand to use the sultry songbird as its muse, however. Earlier in the year Mulberry announced its “Del Rey” bag (bottom left); the starlet got to try it first, but the leather carry-all is finally available to buy at Mulberry stores and online starting at $1,250.

If the eyes have it, then Emma Stone and Olivia Wilde definitely have “it.” Revlon released the stars’ newest cosmetics ads Thursday, a few weeks before they appear in July magazines.

Stone’s ads include one for the brand’s “Grow Luscious” plumping mascara (below), plus another for “Just Bitten Kissable Balm.”

Wilde’s pictorial is for the ColorStay “Smoky Shadow Stick” (left). (Halle Berry has a new “Whipped Creme” makeup ad, too.)

“The eyes say everything about confidence, about how you feel,” Wilde said recently while filming a commercial for Revlon. “For me, makeup is all about finding your own confidence and giving yourself the confidence to go into the world and be the best version of yourself.”

VOTE: Which TV Star’s Style Would You Steal?

Television Actresses
Everett; Startraks; Everett (2); Startraks

So … what are upfronts? They’re basically previews of networks’ upcoming television shows, events packed with the programs’ stars and the critics who write about them. But for those of us more concerned with fashion than function, they’re events where our favorite TV stars get all dressed up, and we get to look at them!

Upfronts are happening in New York City this week, and a slew of small-screen starlets are in the Big Apple promoting their shows. Lea Michele stepped out to talk Glee Monday in a sexy Pucci sheath; the next day, Ginnifer Goodwin arrived at ABC’s Once Upon a Time event in a bold Jonathan Saunders dress. Don’t Trust the B—- in Aptartment 23‘s Krysten Ritter was also on hand at ABC’s upfront, wearing a Reem Acra mini with a jeweled halter neckline.
