Burberry to Stream Fashion Show in 3-D

Forget Avatar — the hottest 3D ticket in town is Burberry’s fall/winter 2010 show. The British luxury brand will be the first ever to live-stream their shows in 3-D at private events in select cities. “This unprecedented event will enable people to experience the energy and atmosphere of this show from around the world,” says Burberry’s chief creative officer, Christopher Bailey in a release. “3-D technology will bring our global audience into the London show space allowing them to see the colors and fabrics, to hear the music and to be a part of that moment when it all finally comes together.” Those who don’t score a ticket to the private events are invited to watch the showing live at home in 2-D at live.burberry.com. The global event, which will also showcase action from behind-the-scenes and from the red carpet, will kick-off on Feb. 23 at 4PM (London Standard Time).

Jeweler Alexis Bittar Revisits the ’80s with New Model Joan Collins

Courtesy Alexis Bittar

She’s one of Hollywood’s most iconic small screen vixens, but this spring, 76-year-old actress Joan Collins is trading acting for modeling as the face of jewelry designer Alexis Bittar’s poster campaign. Launching to coincide with fashion week, the ads will loom large on billboards across New York City. Reprising the signature glamour that earned her fame as Alexis on the set of Dynasty in the 1980s, Collins appears highly made up and adorned in statement costume jewels — a love she’s been cultivating for decades. “I don’t collect real jewels as I travel so much but I have a vast selection of costume jewelry since I was a teenager,” she was recently quoted as saying according to a release for the campaign, continuing, “Alexis Bittar is by far my favorite costume jewelry designer [...] His whimsical designs suit my personality effortlessly. I always feel glamorous and sexy whenever I adorn myself in his creations.” And the feeling was clearly mutual. When the designer, flattered by Collins’s mention, asked her to take a starring role, she didn’t hesitate: “Oooh! ‘Alexis for Alexis’… how brilliant! Count me in.” Tell us: What do you think of Joan Collins as the face of Alexis Bittar’s spring line? –Katherine Kluznik Rentmeester

Valerie Bertinelli’s Next Goal: “To Run the Boston Marathon”

Goff/INF

When Valerie Bertnelli joined Jenny Craig in March 2007, she had one goal in mind: lose 40 pounds. Not only did she shed the weight, she showed off her svelte new body in a bikini on the cover of PEOPLE magazine! Since then, the actress has written two books and released a fitness DVD. So what’s left? “For me, my 2010 goal, believe it or not, is to run the Boston marathon, four days before I turn 50!” says Bertinelli, who revealed her plan during a Jenny Craig press conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Last year Valerie reached a previous goal of completing a half-marathon, but she’s still feeling the jitters when it comes to crossing the finish line at 26.2 miles. “I’m a little nervous. I’m a little excited. Just keep your fingers crossed and wish me luck,” said the actress, who was quick to offer encouragement to her fellow Jenny Craig spokespeople. “I wanted to take this opportunity to say to the gorgeous Sara Rue, congratulations. Girl, you go! I’m so very proud of you. And Jason [Alexander], Dude. I so knew you could do this and congrats to you too. And congrats for starting the new year off right.”–Elaine Aradillas
