Ashley Greene on Her Last-Minute Premiere Look: “We Had to Start From Scratch”

Ramey

Twilight’s Ashley Greene might have looked red-hot at last night’s L.A. premiere of the film series’ latest installment, New Moon, but she tells PEOPLE that finding her perfect scarlet Prabal Gurung stunner was no small matter. “We picked a dress out, had it ready,” Ashley says of a different look, which she originally chose with her stylist. But at the last minute, “I decided I didn’t like it and we had to start from scratch.” Just how down to the wire did it get? “I stopped by the tailors right before I got here to pick up the dress,” she admits. The rest of her red-carpet prep, however, was less of an ordeal. For two hours on the Sunday before the premiere, Ashley received eyelash extensions from expert Calma Yom at The Parlour on 3rd and then returned to the salon to have her hair extensions freshened up the following day. As for her bronzed skin, Ashley looked to St. Tropez tanning expert Fiona Locke, who customized and contoured her skin before the big event. The final touch came at the hands of makeup artist Vanessa Scali, who created the ’60s-inspired look for the Twilight star with “well-defined eyes with lots of lashes, a strong brow and clean skin with subtle pink [and] coral cheeks and lips.” Tell us: What did you think of Ashley’s head-to toe premiere style last night? –additional reporting by Lisa Ingrassia

Would You Wear a Sheer Skirt Like Kristen Stewart?

Fame

Forget Bella’s adolescent wardrobe — Kristen Stewart is going for full-out fashionista while promoting New Moon in Europe. We’ve already seen her in neon Proenza Schouler in London and leather Elizabeth & James, but we had to take a double look at her Balenciaga outfit in Madrid. While her top may give the illusion of bare skin, her skirt actually does have a see-through panel, revealing a little bit more of Kristen than we’ve seen before! And while peekaboo clothing has been turning up on everyone from Leighton Meester to Lady Gaga, this look still got us thinking. Would you dare to bare your underwear like Kristen? Vote now!

New Moon Stars Share Their Killer Style Secrets with Self

Courtesy Self

Thanks to the sexy vampires of New Moon, being bad has never looked so good. Rachelle Lefevre, Ashley Greene, and Kellan Lutz are featured in the November issue of Self and opened up to the magazine about their personal style — or in Lefevre’s case, Kate Moss’s style. The actress calls the model her “style icon” and confesses that when she’s getting dressed, she always asks herself what Moss would do. “She’s sort of the Tweety bird in my head going, ‘You don’t have to dress that up sweetheart, you can go outside in your shorts and your T-shirt and your flats, and you’ll be just fine.’” For Greene, a former model, the perfect wardrobe starts with a pair of killer high heels. “I’m a big fan of Jimmy Choo,” she tells the magazine. “Love them a lot, even though they might not be the most comfortable. They’re beautiful, beautiful shoes. And then I feel like everyone needs to have your staple Christian Louboutin shoes.” Her other must-haves: Rebecca Minkoff bags to “spice up” a plain outfit (“She does a lot of fun colors”) and Dolce & Gabbana gowns for the red carpet. “Being a girl, when you find something that fits you well, you just kind of latch on to it,” explains Greene, who actively supports DonateMyDress.org, an organization that supplies prom dresses to teens. In Lutz’s case, his best accessory may be his arms — or at least they are for his character Emmett Cullen. “He’s very athletic,” he says of the vampire. “So he likes wearing sporty stuff, stuff that maybe shows off his muscles . . . stuff that’s not too stiff. So that he could go eat a bear if he wanted to.” Off-screen, his requirements are much less specific. “My style is pretty comfy,” he says. “I mean, I just love jeans and boots.” See more at Self.com. –Joey Bartolomeo.

EXCLUSIVE: Ashley Greene Picks Her Best Dressed Stars at the VMAs

Scott Gries/PictureGroup

As the night’s fashion correspondent for MTV, Ashley Greene got to turn a critical eye on her fellow fashionistas. The New Moon star puts Beyonce, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift on her best dressed list. “In a night where silver, gold and black metallic minis ruled the red carpet, Beyonce stood out in her short red plunging [Roberto Cavalli] mini dress,” Ashley tells PEOPLE. “It was so sexy, yet completely tasteful at the same time.” And while many starlets went for sparkle, it was all about Katy’s mini by The Blonds for Ashley. “There were a lot of sparkly mini dresses, but Katy’s was my favorite,” she says.”The spikes rocked it up a bit and the fit was incredible on her body.” As for Taylor, Ashley admired her for channeling her inner princess. “Taylor looked stunning in her floor-length [Kaufman Franco] gown. I loved that she was one of the few who chose to wear a long dress — she looked straight out of a fairytale,” says Ashley. And, of course, Ashley loved her hunky New Moon co-star Taylor Lautner who walked the red carpet in a sleek Calvin Klein Collection suit. “He looked so handsome in his suit and I’m pretty sure all the fans agreed!” We definitely do! Now, Kristen is back on set in Vancouver to shoot Eclipse, the third installment of Twilight, reviving her role as high school coed Bella Swan. Kristen Stewart: It’s “Bizarre” to Be a Fashion Trendsetter

more about "Twilight Video", posted with vodpod

Being an It Girl comes with some perks, like keeping designers duds from events, but Twilight’s Kristen Stewart reveals that she’s not quite at that pivotal star status — yet. “The really cool stuff I never get to keep any of that,” the 19-year-old actress says in a video interview with EW.com. “Like anything for an event or anything like that. I’m just not important enough yet, I think.” While she’s walked the red carpet in edgy dresses by Yigal Azroul, Herve Leger and Camilla and Marc, Stewart says it’s the items out of her own closet that seem to be making a mark on Twilighters. “The things that have been sold out have been the things that people are actually able to get that are semi-cheap,” she explains. “Those things like sweatshirts and jackets, those things are mine, which is bizarre to have people go out and buy.” Find out more-behind-the-scenes scoop on Kristen and New Moon costar Taylor Lautner at EW.com – Janet Mock.
