Carolina Herrera: Kristen Stewart Was ‘Moved’ by the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Dress

We knew the gown Carolina Herrera created specifically for the Breaking Dawn wedding took six months to design and that it left Robert Pattinson floored, but in the new issue of Town & Country Weddings, the designer reveals Kristen Stewart‘s very personal reaction.

“We did three fittings. When she initially put on the dress and looked over her shoulder into the mirror, she was very moved,” Herrera tells the mag, on stands Wednesday. “In that moment she was not an actress or a character in a film but instead a bride, and a happy one at that.”

The dress seen in the sketch (left) is what the designer calls a “union between Stephenie [Meyer's] description in the book and the Herrera bridal aesthetic” — something she has been perfecting for 25 years.

“I took into consideration the character of Bella and Kristen’s portrayal of her, and what this fantasy character would choose to wear for the most important day of her life,” she explains of the masterpiece, which retails for $35,000. “It’s made of a crepe satin with two inserts on the front and beautiful silk thread topstitching. The neckline is a slight V, just enough to see the collarbones. The back is oval-shaped, with a Chantilly lace border veiled in tulle. It’s very romantic, and when all the details come together, it creates a vision specific to Bella’s style and personality.”

Why Nikki Reed Won’t Miss Her ‘Twilight’ Hair

Nikki Reed may be sad to put to rest her role as Rosalie Hale in the Twilight series, but the actress is more than happy to bid adieu to the vampire’s iconic blonde locks — and for good reason.

At the Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I premiere in Los Angeles Monday night, the newlywed told PEOPLE she had to sport a blonde wig for New Moon, Eclipse, and Breaking Dawn after dying her hair for the original Twilight film. “Most of my hair fell out, which is why they wigged me,” she explained. “It’s hard on the hair.

“I don’t miss being a blonde,” she continued. “I do miss Rosalie.”

Despite her bad experience with going blonde, Reed doesn’t discount the possibility of taking the plunge again in the future.

“Never say never — possibly for something else,” she said. “But it would have to be something I really love.” Tell us: Have you ever had a bad hair coloring experience?

Which ‘Breaking Dawn’ Guy Looked Best at the Premiere?

Breaking Dawn Premiere StyleBauer-Griffin; Splash News Online; WireImage (2)

Sure, the ladies looked lovely, but during Monday night’s Breaking Dawn premiere in Los Angeles, our eyes were on the men of Twilight — particularly that determined teen werewolf, Taylor Lautner, and vampires Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli.

Lautner, a fan of slick suits, looked dapper in a blue two-piece with brown shoes and a red tie. Pattinson wore a Gucci ink “Marseille” two-button notch-lapel suit, with a pale gray button-up dress shirt and slate-gray tie. Lutz broke the mold in an all-black ensemble, complete with vest and tie. And Facinelli also went the blue route, sporting a suit with a satin lapel plus a white shirt and polka-dot scarf. We say all the guys looked dashing, but what do you think?

Nikki Reed’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Scene Secret

Nikki Reed Breaking DawnCourtesy SELF

She may be busy settling into married life and promoting the next Twilight film, Breaking Dawn Part I, but Nikki Reed has her mind on some fashionable future plans, too.

“At some point I’d like to have a jewelry line,” she reveals in the December issue of SELF. “I have a very sort of eclectic style, so I guess I’ve picked up things from all over the world, but the last place that I lived was Greece so I became very into the evil eye. I’m influenced by Greek culture for sure.”

Though Reed’s personal style is eclectic, her Twilight character, Rosalie Hale, steers toward the modern side. “The Cullen family … they don’t want to stand out as much as they already do with their crazy eyes and pale skin,” she explains. “So I think that was a common theme when shooting, like, ‘How can we make them blend in the most?’ So we wore the hippest, most modern clothes.”

Robert Pattinson Thinks Kristen Stewart ‘Looks Amazing’ as a Bride

We’re just days away from seeing the much-hyped Breaking Dawn Part I wedding scene, and a few Twilight cast members are letting bare-bones details slip.

Rob [Pattinson] looked like a stud,” Kellan Lutz tells InStyle.com. “And Kristen Stewart is just stunning. She really made everyone turn heads. She looked so beautiful.”

According to Pattinson, Stewart did turn heads — and for good reason. “I’d seen her in the wedding dress, but pretty much everyone in the cast hadn’t seen her,” he told Ann Curry Thursday during a chat on Today. “So when she’s walking down the aisle and everyone turns around to her, it’s genuine curiosity because there was so much secrecy about it.”

Ashley Greene’s ‘Twilight’ Bridesmaid Dress Revealed

We’re still dying to see Bella Swan’s Breaking Dawn wedding gown, but in the meantime, we have Alice Cullen’s bridesmaid dress to quell our curiosity.

The flapper-esque frock (far left), with a silvery striped pattern and fringed skirt, “was a collaboration,” actress Ashley Greene, who plays Alice Cullen, explained in August. “We wanted to have all the bridesmaids fit together and also have their own identity. So, we took a little bit of Alice’s past and put it into her dress.” (In the photo above, Cullen is joined at the nuptials by beau Jasper Hale and parents Carlisle and Esme Cullen.)

Bella Swan’s ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Dress Designer: Carolina Herrera

Who knew Bella Swan was such a fashionista? Carolina Herrera, a designer loved by Renée Zellweger, Sofia Vergara, Amy Adams and a slew of other stars, announced today that she designed the wedding dress Kristen Stewart wears in Breaking Dawn Part I. “It is always a great pleasure to design any wedding gown, but this one was particularly special,” Herrera, who made Christina Hendricks’s wedding dress, said in a statement. “Kristen is a stunning girl and her character, Bella, will make a beautiful bride.” In a 15-second preview that aired during the MTV Movie Awards on June 5, we saw tiny snippets of Bella’s wedding look: her hair was up, her sleeves were long. A beaming Edward Cullen gazed at his bride as she walked down the aisle, flowers in hand, a delicate comb in her hair to hold her veil in place. Few details have come out regarding the gown, which Stewart promised would be “beautiful,” but in the glimpses we see, it appears to possibly be similar to this sketch, featured in writer Stephanie Meyer’s graphic novel, The Twilight Saga: The Official Illustrated Guide. Or perhaps it will be similar to one of Herrera’s most recent bridal creations, several of which are seen above. What do you think? Tell us: How do you imagine the Breaking Dawn wedding gown?
