Sarah Jessica Parker’s a Fuchsia Fanatic!

Splash News Online; Ramey; INF

If the Cosmo was the signature drink of Sex and the City and Manolo Blahnik the trademark shoe, then the super-girly shade of bubblegum-pink could be considered the movie’s unofficial color. So with the May 27 premiere of Sex and the City 2 just around the corner, it comes as no real surprise that Sarah Jessica Parker seems to have slipped back into character and adopted the hot pink shade as her own must-have hue. The often-photographed fashion plate–who, despite alter ego Carrie Bradshaw’s theatrical, Technicolor outfits, often favors neutrals and casual jeans–has been spotted leaning on pink accents. From a top-handle tote or plush scarf to a cropped cardigan or peep-toe shoe, SJP is all about adding a splash of signature color to otherwise monochromatic outfits. Tell us: How do you feel about accessorizing with hot-pink? –Marissa Patlingrao Cooley

Cate Blanchett Mucks It Up in Roger Vivier Boots

Courtesy Roger Vivier

Forget about boots made for walking—these were made for intense trampling, mud-stomping and sword fighting. For Cate Blanchett‘s latest role as the feisty Maid Marion in the latest adaptation of the new action flick Robin Hood, the actress specifically requested Bruno Frisoni—artistic director of French luxury good house Roger Vivier—to custom-create one-of-a-kind boots. “I knew his design would be striking, but what arrived surpassed my expectations. The boots where sleek, sexy and helped give Marion that contemporary edge that Janty and I were searching for,” Blanchett says in a release. “I didn’t want to take them off. I was slightly freaked out by the amount of mud that I had to wade through as I didn’t want to get these gorgeous boots dirty.” The excitement was mutual for Frisoni, who says he began sketching the boots while still on the phone with the actress. “I admire her modernity, which is fragile and strong at the same time,” he says. “I wanted to create some boots that were both feminine and masculine. Sexy seduction on a horse!” To watch Blanchett work the thigh-high boots in the action movie co-starring Russell Crowe, head to theaters nationwide on May 14 when Robin Hood debuts. –David Yi

Sarah Jessica Parker Credits Carrie Bradshaw with Making Her Style ‘Bolder’

Courtesy Marie Claire

In her role as Carrie Bradshaw, Sarah Jessica Parker wouldn’t think twice about leaving her Upper East Side brownstone in an attention-grabbing outfit, but in her own life, Parker hasn’t always been quite so adventurous–at least until Patricia Fields, Sex And The City‘s costume designer, entered her life. “I’ve never revealed as much or been so daring or made quite as many triumphant mistakes as Carrie,” the actress tells Marie Claire in the June issue. “But I’m now bolder than I would have been had I never played this part.” Playing Carrie hasn’t only given Parker more guts when it comes to getting dressed in the morning, but it has also landed her three style-savvy friends in castmates Kristen Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall, who landed Marie Claire‘s subscriber cover (below). And while we can’t wait to see all four Sex and the City ladies reunite on the big screen on May 27, they can’t wait to see us head to the theater– literally. “I went out to dinner in New York on opening night, and I saw these packs of girls all dolled up in high heels walking down the street,” says Davis about the original movie’s debut. “And I realized they were going to see the movie! It was so adorable and flattering!” With the promise of more Manolos, Dior and Dolce, we are counting down the days. Cameron’s Short-Shorts Secret? Hard Work

Fame

Sure, even her trainer Teddy Bass admits Cameron Diaz is a “genetic wonder,” but that doesn’t mean the 37-year-old actress can slack off on her workouts. For her role as a Daisy-Dukes wearing professor in the new movie Bad Teacher, Diaz maintained a rigorous workout regimen. “Cameron has an amazing work ethic both in work and personally in life as a whole,” says Bass. “She works so hard.” And how hard is hard for the perfectly toned star? With her “schedule permitting,” the actress hits the gym with Bass for regular sessions of weights for strength training including lots of lunges and squats, mixed in with cardio circuits and Pilates work. Her “desired look,” according to Bass? “Elongated” and toned muscles — a goal she’s clearly achieved. Adds Bass: “That photo doesn’t lie or hide anything!” –Charlotte Triggs

VOTE: Who Wears Her Daisy Dukes Best?

Globe; Warner Bros./Zuma; Fame

Who wears short-shorts? The barely-there bottoms have been a Hollywood onscreen staple ever since Catherine Bach made her debut as the original Daisy Duke in 1979. Now, Cameron Diaz is heating things up in a pair of her own on the set of Bad Teacher. With their toned–and tanned!– legs, Catherine, Jessica and Cameron all sizzle in their short-shorts, but only one leading lady can be the true queen of the “daisy dukes”. Janet Jackson Pays Tribute to ‘Genius’ Alexander McQueen on the Red Carpet

Landov

Long live McQueen! It’s been a month since venerable British designer Alexander McQueen tragically took his own life, but his design skills are still alive and well as stars like Janet Jackson don them on the red carpet. At last night’s premiere of Why Did I Get Married Too? at New York’s School of Visual Arts Theater, the singer-actress — who reprises her role as a psychotherapist — donned a dark navy Alexander McQueen ruffled jacket paired with harem pants and a power belt. Jackson spoke to PEOPLE about her adoration for and long-time relationship with the designer, calling him a “wonderful guy. Sweetheart.” She continued on, “[McQueen was the] very first fashion show I ever went to. He invited me to his show in the late 1990s in London. I’ve always been a fan of his.” The 43-year-old star went on to rave about McQueen’s talents, putting him in the highest echelon possible. “True genius, and I’m not using the word loosely at all,” she told PEOPLE. “To me, there are certain ones, you have your [Karl Lagerfeld at] Chanel, Givenchy, McQueen, Galliano, it’s those guys that fall right in that.” –reporting by Jeffrey Slonim
