Newest ‘Gossip Girl’ Katie Cassidy Builds Her Fashion Cred

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester, who recently expressed interest in starting her own clothing line, already has one customer waiting in the wings: New costar Katie Cassidy! “I’d buy it,” the actress told PEOPLE at W magazine’s September issue celebration at N.Y.C.’s Saks Fifth Avenue on Tuesday. “She has really good taste. I think she‘d be a great designer.” In the meantime, Cassidy will continue to admire her castmate’s killer wardrobe, telling PEOPLE, “I’ve seen her closet. It’s pretty amazing! She has some really good clothing.” Since joining television’s most stylish cast, the former Melrose Place star has begun to develop some major fashion cred of her own, sitting front row at Diane von Furstenberg and Jason Wu alongside style stars like Sarah Jessica Parker and Diane Kruger during New York Fashion Week. And it’s paying off: Gossip Girl’s newest starlet shone in at the Saks event in a gold Diane von Furstenberg shift dress with an Alice + Olivia cardigan, and credited the CW hit for its fashion influence. “I’m learning about fashion and I find myself knowing more about what I should wear. Blake Lively’s Newest Accolade: A Christian Louboutin Named in Her Honor!

Take it from Blake Lively — when in Paris, work hard and play hard! While shooting the opening episodes of the fourth season of Gossip Girl, she took time out of her busy schedule to cruise the City of Lights on a scooter with a very handsome gentleman — shoe designer-to-the-stars Christian Louboutin! Blake experienced love-at-first-sight with one of Christian’s creations while touring the designer’s atelier — who wouldn’t? — and the designer returned the love by naming it after the blonde beauty! “I want to sleep with it under my pillow every night,” Blake gushed over the shoe. His response? “We’re naming it the Blake.” And although the actress spent plenty of time with fashion royalty during her time in Paris, attending couture shows with Anna Wintour and dining with Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano, Blake says of her Louboutin moment, “That was insane, it’s like my greatest accomplishment.” Watch the actress–clad in a sparkly Matthew Williamson jacket and blue leather skirt–talk shoes and more while appearing on Live With Regis and Kelly Tuesday morning.

Blake Lively Doesn’t Use a Stylist But Pals Around with Karl Lagerfeld

Whether she’s on or off the Gossip Girl set, actress Blake Lively rarely gets it wrong when it comes to her fashion choices. Which is why it’s particularly refreshing to hear that the California native has shunned the services of a stylist to take charge of her own look. “I’ve always loved fashion,’ she tells the UK edition of Marie Claire in its October issue, on which she graces the cover. “That’s why I don’t use a stylist. Number one, it’s such an expression of self,” she states with a confident air, before amusing the set with stories of her recent trip to Paris where she got to meet one of her own fashion idols, Karl Lagerfeld.  After chatting with Anna Wintour about her love of all things Chanel, she soon found herself bagging a front row seat at the fashion house’s Paris haute couture show in July and some one-on-one time with the designer himself. “So I went to dinner with Karl Lagerfeld and we got to spend a lot of priceless time together,” she gushes, excitedly. And the highlight? “Oh my gosh, riding around in Karl Lagerfeld’s Rolls-Royce with the top down. Taylor Momsen Trashes Rihanna’s Pop-Star Style

For Taylor Momsen, art imitates life. Just as her Gossip Girl character, Jenny Humphrey, takes pleasure in shaking things up on Manhattan’s prim-and-proper Upper East Side, so too does the actress seem to enjoy pushing the boundaries in real life. In a recent interview with Spin magazine, Momsen classified her personal style as “high-class hooker” and frowned upon anyone opposed to her black eyes and leggy looks. “I dress for myself,” she told Spin. “Clearly, it’s provocative, but it makes me feel good. And if the only reason it makes someone uncomfortable is because I’m 16, then that person’s a scumbag because it shouldn’t matter.” But the Material Girl muse and lead singer of rock band, the Pretty Reckless, is irritated—to say the least—that pop stars are passing as rock stars these days. “People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Who Wears a Pink Blazer Better: Rihanna or Chuck Bass?

Rihanna is as known for her edgy and tough rocker style as Chuck Bass, played by Ed Westwick on Gossip Girl, is known for his love of preppy pastels and smoking jackets. So who knew that such disparate fashion plates could find common ground in a light pink blazer? We spotted Rihanna in her take on the look yesterday, pairing her boyfriend blazer with frayed denim cut-offs and a sheer striped shirt. No such downtown touches for the ultimate uptown peacock Bass, as he strutted onto the Gossip Girl set in Manhattan this morning in his salmon sport coat paired with crisp navy trousers. Taylor Momsen Admits: “I Don’t Brush My Hair”

From her severe black-rimmed eyes to her shiny red lips and perfect bed head, Taylor Momsen’s tough girl look is as much a staple off-screen as it is on. But how long does it take the young Gossip Girl star to achieve rock star perfection? Not long. “I shower, then I put a ton of black on my eyes, then I put lipstick on and a little bit of blush and then, I don’t brush my hair,” Taylor Momsen jokes in a video for MTV.com. In fact, even though Momsen’s heavy makeup looks extremely calculated, the starlet reveals that it’s actually a lot easier than it seems. “[I use] whatever black eyeshadow and liner–that isn’t empty– in my makeup case and charcoal it on,” says Momsen.
