Would You Wear a Suit and Tie Like Leighton Meester?

Gossip Girl‘s Leighton Meester continues to don get-ups that would leave Blair Waldorf bristling in her Brian Atwoods. Two weeks after donning a plunging, sheer Marchesa jumpsuit, the fearless stylista takes a page out of AnnaLynne McCord’s book, sporting a charcoal Thom Browne suit complete with flood trousers, white oxford shirt and matching neck tie to the Gotham Independent Film Awards in N.Y.C. on Monday night. Eschewing feminine details, Meester opted for simple on-trend wine-hued pumps, smoky lids and mussed up tresses to complete her look. Though the androgynous look may be a bold introduction to Browne’s foray into women’s clothes, we’re not sure how we feel about Leighton’s literal take on menswear. Leighton Meester’s Lace Marchesa Jumpsuit: Love It or Hate It?

Leighton Meester Wears Lace Marchesa Jumpsuit Brian Ach/Getty; Rob Loud/WireImage

She may portray the uber-conservative Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, but in real life, Leighton Meester is all about edgy style. Whether she’s rocking a crocheted Marc Jacobs gown, a midriff-baring Versus dress or bright blue Proenza Schouler for J Brand scribble jeans, the style star is never one to shy from taking fashion risks. And last night proved no exception when she arrived at the Harry Winston Court of Jewels event in N.Y.C. in a super-sheer Marchesa lace jumpsuit. Complete with see-through harem pant legs, a low-cut back and visible lace hot pants, Leighton’s look was anything but reserved. With her messy pin-tucked bun, dark ruby lips and bold brows, there was no mistaking Leighton for a stuffy Upper East Side lady. Tell us: What do you think of Leighton’s look? Do you love it or hate it? Justine Harman

Rachel Zoe Makes Her ‘Gossip Girl’ Debut

Giovanni Rufino/The CW

Looks like Queen Bees Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen will face some fierce competition for fashionable reign of the Upper East Side on tonight’s episode of Gossip Girl, when stylist to the stars Rachel Zoe makes a major cameo! “I have been a huge fan of Gossip Girl since the beginning and watch it every Monday with my girls,” Rachel told InStyle.com. “So it was beyond exciting to do an episode of the show and meet all of the brilliant people both behind and on camera. And obviously my favorite part of the experience was the costumes–so major!” Dressed in a floor length Pucci gown with Alexis Bittar jewelry, the fashion darling will get down and dirty at Blair’s 20th birthday party on tonight’s episode. So which character’s closet does Zoe envy? “I identify the most with Serena’s style–her wardrobe is everything–sexy, glamorous and adventurous!” Rachel told InStyle.com. Jessica Szohr is Willing to Suffer for a ‘Good Shoe’

John Lindquist for ASOS

Blair Waldorf and Serena van der Woodsen might get the most attention for their over-the-top style on the hit show Gossip Girl, but resident hipster Vanessa Abrams is no shrinking violet either when it comes to fashion. It turns out, however, that Jessica Szohr doesn’t share her character’s eclectic taste. “At heart I’m just a simple jeans and T-shirt kind of girl,” Jessica tells ASOS. “I used to not wear heels at all, but the last four years have changed that. I’m big on comfort now but I will sacrifice it once in a while for a good shoe.” And although her own style is at the opposite end of the spectrum from Vanessa’s love of color, pattern and over-the-top accessories, “since I’ve been playing her I’ve taken more risk in what I wear.” Jessica is even putting her own unique spin on fragrance. “I spray perfume on the back of my neck. I don’t know if it’s when you go in to hug someone but everyone always comments on it no matter what perfume I have on –- whether it’s my favorite Stella McCartney or a $3 bottle from the drug store.” Now there’s a high-low style tip that everyone can use! Get ‘Gossip Girl’ Party-Perfect Dresses — Designed by the Show’s Stylist For Under $50!

Kyle Dean Reinford

When Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman was approached to create a line for budget-friendly chain Charlotte Russe, deciding what he would design was a no-brainer.  ”It just seems so apropos to what I do on the show,” he told PEOPLE of his collection of party dresses. “It’s like a ball or a gala every episode. I didn’t want to do separates. Serena van der Woodsen T-shirts? You can buy that. I wanted to do something special.” Even the Blair Waldorfs of the world will be tempted by Daman’s dresses, with prices starting at only $34.50. Expect lots of full skirts made for twirling with glittering accents galore. And while he loves designing high-fashion at low prices, he has to admit, dressing on an unlimited budget is a treat. But when it comes to picking his favorite characters to clothe, like any proud parent, it’s tough to choose. “It’s like your children. You can’t pick your favorite child. I love them all,” he says, before revealing his weakness for the show’s most dapper gentleman. “Chuck Bass has a very special place in my heart. It’s that Saville Row thing.” So, is a men’s line up next for the Upper East Side’s resident wardrobe specialist? “Yes, but I’m not allowed to talk about that yet,” he hints.
