Just because they wear designer bathing suits doesn’t mean celebrities like Paris Hilton are shielded from potential wardrobe malfunctions at the beach. Whether it’s running in the sand or getting out of the water, we’ve all had slip-ups, slip-downs and other forms of indecent exposure. The moment that takes the cake for us happened in San Juan, Puerto Rico when a wave came seemingly out of nowhere and knocked the wind out of us – along with our bikini top. Heroes star Hayden Panettiere may be a self-proclaimed bikini girl, but we can’t always say the same when it comes to the daunting task of finding a flattering yet stylish swimsuit. One of our biggest gripes is tracking down a chic bikini whose top and bottom are sold as a set, making comfort difficult for those of us who aren’t perfectly proportioned. That’s why we love swimwear lines from Shoshanna and Elizabeth Hurley, who sell their tops and bottoms separately. With swimsuit season coming upon us, the editors at StyleWatch wanted to hear your thoughts on finding the perfect bikini. Tell us: What’s your biggest anxiety when it comes to buying a swimsuit?

If anyone is qualified to design a beachwear line, it’s Matthew McConaughey. The perpetually shirtless actor has honed his knowledge of swim trunks, flip flops and bandanas over the years — and now he’s adding a surf-inspired line to his j.k livin T-shirt line. The line of swimwear and beach accoutrements will be available on his website Matthewmcconaughey.com starting this summer, according to his rep. Tell us: Will you buy Matthew’s clothing line?

We’ve seen stars get decked out for a day at the beach before — remember Mariah’s bikini bling? — but Fergie and Eve caught our eye this week with their super-styled outfits. From ornate sandals to brightly patterned cover-ups to foreheadbands and head scarves, these two sexy singers just kept piling on the accessories! We love adding a cute pair of flip flops and a great beach bag to our swimsuits, but these two looks seem a little overdone for a fun day on the shore. But we want to know what you think! It might be the last official week of summer, but for California girls like Lauren Conrad and side-kick Audrina Patridge there are still plenty of beachside barbeque days left. The Hills girls hit the Silver Spoon Beach House in Malibu while filming an upcoming episode of their MTV reality show, baring their toned tummies and fabulous taste in bikinis. Jenny McCarthy was recently spotted enjoying a gorgeous Hawaiian sunset while vacationing with boyfriend Jim Carrey. While we have given up all hope of ever looking that toned and fit in a bikini, we did totally want her cute halter top and ruched boyshorts!
