Our New Favorite Tote Costs $78 -- But Looks Way, Way Pricier

Oct/13/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

We repeat: The tote you see in the video below is 78 bucks — even less if you use our exclusive discount code. And you get a whole lotta bag for that amount. It’s a slouchy design made of faux leather (that feels surprisingly buttery and soft) with metallic python-finish panels on the front and back, plus two shoulder straps and a roomy interior. This PEOPLE style editor found the bag while out shopping and immediately got it for herself. Now she’s sharing it with you — and we know you’ll love it and use it as much as she does.

You can shop the metallic totes by clicking on the product image in the video player or by clicking here. And if you’ve never shopped Joyus.com before, enter STYLE15 at checkout to get an extra 15% off your entire purchase. (That would make this bag about $66.)

The python finish is something we’re seeing on a lot of celeb-carried bags that are seriously out of our price range. And we especially love it in gold and silver, which adds an even more luxe vibe to the carryall. Another thing we love: how roomy the bag is. It easily fits a laptop or gym gear along with all our other stuff, making it perfect for travel and commuting.

This style editor fell for the bag as soon as she saw it displayed on a shelf and we know it’ll be love at first sight — and first carry — for you guys, too.

We Tried It: Faux Freckles

Oct/09/2014 at 06:23 PM ET

We Tried It: Rocking faux freckles

Who Tried It: Maddy Zollo, Assistant Beauty Editor at PEOPLE StyleWatch

Why I did It: Fake freckles were all over New York and London fashion week — from realistic ones at Preen, Vivienne Westwood and Adam Selman to star embellishments at Tommy Hilfiger and A Détacher. I’m never one to shy away from off-the-wall beauty trends, so how could I not put this look to the test? Plus, Topshop even created a “freckle pencil” for their fall makeup collection, which meant it had to be cool … right?

Level of Difficulty: 3 (one point for making sure you have a steady enough hand to draw them on and two points for the sporadic pangs of self-consciousness you are sure to experience when people stare and wonder what the heck is all over your face)

The Best Smelling (and Most Moisturizing) Lip Balm We've Ever Tried

Oct/06/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

We totally get the idea of being loyal to one kind of moisturizer, one kind of shampoo, one particular perfume, one brand of mascara. But, to be totally frank, we never felt that way about lip balm. We were never loyal to a certain brand, going out of our way to get it because it’s so, so much better than what’s stocked in the drugstore. Well, we didn’t feel that way until we tried these amazing lip butters. Watch the video below (it’s really a shame smellivision hasn’t been invented because the scent is incredible), try them out then join us in our loyalty to one kind of lip balm.

You can shop the three yummy-smelling scents by clicking the product in the tray just below the video or by going here. If you’re a first-time Joyus.com shopper, you get an extra 15% off by entering STYLE15 at checkout. (But before you check out, take a look at the other awesome stuff — including picks by the PEOPLE Style & Beauty Team — by going here.

MORE STUFF WE LOVE: THE TOTALLY WACKY (BUT TOTALLY EFFECTIVE) BEAUTY PRODUCT THAT’LL GIVE YOU SOFT, CALLOUS-FREE FEET

The rose, the blood orange and the mint all smell so good that this editor has taken to treating the butters like a solid perfume and dabbing a bit on her pulse points. It also has another (intended) use: As a cuticle softener. But most importantly, this stuff makes your lips soft. Like, really soft. It’s all-natural, but it really works. And it doesn’t smudge off within an hour of being applied (like a lot of other balms). And if you’re a lipstick wearer, you definitely need this stuff in your makeup bag. Swipe a bit on your lips then when you apply the lipstick, the color will go on so much smoother, plus it’ll stay put longer.

Oh, and did we mention these lip butters smell amazing?
