What Makes This Dry Shampoo Better Than All the Others Out There?

Jul/07/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

Get the answer to that question in the video below. We also share another amazing find: a texture spray that helps women with even the finest, pin-straightest hair get beachy waves. Oh yeah, and you can get both for an exclusive price (even lower if you use our discount code — find it below).

The editor in the video wasn’t kidding: She really does own that many dry shampoos — and she’s tested out dozens more. So she’s sort of an expert (addict, expert, potato, potahto) on the matter. And this one from Captain Blankenship is the best she’s ever tried. Not only does it absorb oil and add volume (a must for dry shampoos), but it also smells amazing, lasts forever since it’s in powder form, is TSA-friendly and helps extend the length of a blowout.

We’d recommend getting the Mermaid Mane sea salt spray as well if you’re looking to sport pretty beachy waves this summer. We love using both the products together (which is why we worked at getting you an exclusive price on the bundle). Both products are all-natural with no crazy chemicals or scary ingredients.

If you’re a first-time Joyus shopper, be sure to enter STYLE15 to get an extra 15% off the price.

And while you’re at it, nab these other summer must-have beauty products as well: a wacky, but totally awesome tool every woman should keep in her shower and the self-tanning towelettes for people who hate/don’t have time for/aren’t good at/have never tried self-tanning.

Happy shopping and don’t forget to check out more stuff we love here!

See the Most Popular Patriotic Dress in Hollywood (Hint: It's Been Worn by Meryl Streep and Wendy Williams)

Jul/04/2014 at 12:00 PM ET

Catherine Malandrino’s American flag shirtdress is almost as much of a classic as Old Glory itself. Every year a new star steps out in the design, putting her own twist on the red-white-and-blue number. The frock seems to appeal to all age demographics, can be worn belted and is an easy way to show your patriotic side this Fourth of July. Unfortunately, it’s sold out pretty much everywhere. Since we can’t nab our own, let’s look back at the celebs who have the iconic frock hanging in their closets instead.

Halle Berry was the first to wear the design, choosing a sleeveless version for her Swordfish promo tour in 2001. Meryl Streep hit the carpet for Doubt in 2009 in her stars and stripes, and in 2012, Tatyana Ali wore it to the BET Upfronts.

More recently, Katy Perry and John Mayer coordinated their patriotic looks last Fourth of July (see photo below). And this year, two stars stepped out in the dress: Wendy Williams wore it to film an episode in May, while Miss USA fittingly displayed her patriotic pride while touring her crown back in June.

Dying to rock the look? You could try this American flag tank dress, or an oversize tee from ASOS. If you want to show a little more skin, check out this crop top and swimsuit, both available at Urban Outfitters. And of course, American Apparel has an extensive red, white and blue collection.

Are you loving the dress? What do you plan to wear this weekend? Will you be donning stars and stripes? Share your thoughts below.
