Rachel Bilson Premieres New Picks for Piperlime

Rachel Bilson Style Expert for Piperlime
Casey Rodgers/AP

With her uncanny ability to add some casual cool to even the most classic silhouettes, Rachel Bilson once again lends her expert eye as a guest editor for Piperlime.

The Hart of Dixie star, who also shills for Sunglass Hut, curates a new selection of affordable to aspirational items to reflect her trademark “comfy” style. “I like to say I’m a moody dresser,” she explains. “I wake up and then I kind of dress according to how I’m feeling.”

Her picks include sensible Rachel Comey booties, a pleated Vince maxi skirt (reminiscent of this bohemian look by Rachel Bruno) and a Splendid striped henley, now on sale for $55. “I love stripes and I love cozy,” she declares. ‘Nuff said!

Important Tips for Shopping Black Friday Bargains

The turkey is cooking, the family is heading over soon, but we know what’s really on your mind today: shopping! With Black Friday and Cyber Monday upon us, it’s virtually impossible to think about anything but deals today, especially when so many stores — Target, Gap, Best Buy, Kohl’s and Macy’s among them — are opening at midnight.

Lisa Lee Freeman, editor-in-chief of ShopSmart magazine, stopped by the Today show earlier this week to discuss Black Friday deals. And even though she at times warned against shopping tomorrow (as if!), she had some great tips, too.

Uniqlo Springs Nine New Designer Collaborations

Uniqlo Springs 9 New Designer CollaborationsCourtesy Uniqlo

Watch out H&M! Just in time to fill those wardrobe gaps left from spring cleaning, the style-for-a-steal Japanese fashion brand Uniqlo is launching not one but nine designer collaborations with the return of its Designer’s Invitation Project. New York style stars Costello Tagliapietra, Vena Cava and Charlotte Ronson are leading the chic parade with fun and flirty six-piece collections that are warm weather-perfect — and only $30 per piece. Ronson tells PEOPLE she turned to traditional summertime themes like “seaside retreats” for inspiration, seen in her nautical striped dress with lace-up collar. Meanwhile, Costello Tagliapietra’s Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra were tapped to reinterpret the T-shirt and did so using modern silhouettes, like with their one-sleeve tunic, which they say “[feels] dressy and casual at the same time.” Vena Cava’s line also features looks that are flexible … literally. “We wanted to make pieces you could go to yoga in, and then walk around Brooklyn in,” designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock said of their loose, layered tops. The Designer’s Invitation Project, which launched in 2006, will also include collaborations with Double Standard Clothing, Nine, Suzuki Takayuki, Theatre Products, Tiny Dinosaur and Zechia. The Costello Tagliapietra collection hits Uniqlo’s New York City Soho flagship store on April 21, followed by Charlotte Ronson on May 5 and Vena Cava on May 12. With these high-fashion bargains only available through May 21, there’s just one question left: When are you coming to the Big Apple? They’re back! Thirty-four of the most sought-after dresses from Target’s past GO International designer collaborations are officially on sale once more. From Rodarte’s sweet slip dress and Zac Posen’s polka dot frock to Alice Temperley’s gorgeous LBD and Proenza Schouler’s palm-print shift, find all the styles you lusted after — but sold out before you could even select your size. This time around, the only problem will be deciding which design star look to choose. “I loved Rodarte, I love Thakoon,” says Marie Claire fashion director and Target style expert Nina Garcia, who recently joined Hollywood fans Chloë Sevigny and Liv Tyler to fête the new GO International Designer Collective in New York City. “It’s like trying to choose your favorite collection from the [runway] shows; it’s impossible.” Agreed, but just don’t contemplate your prospective purchases, available at Target and Target.com, for too long. If there’s one thing we’ve learned, it’s that fashion this good (and at this great a price) waits for no one. Tell us: Which designer dress will be your first pick?Christie LaRusso

Kardashian Sisters Get Hands On With Their New “Kollection”

Kim Kardashian might have lent her name to everything from fragrance to clothing collections–but just because she’s busy doesn’t mean she can’t be totally hands-on in all aspects of the creative process. For her newest line of clothing, the Kardashian Kollection, which she is creating with her sisters Kourtney and Khloe, Kim says the trio has overseen every step along the way. “We’re extremely involved. We’re so picky,” she told WWD about the Kollection, which will roll into 400 Sears stores in August. Kim adds that the variously sized sisters try the outfits on themselves to make sure the garments will fit every woman like a glove. “We get inspiration from all different photos, stuff that we love, but we might not love the cut or fit exactly so we modify everything.” Tell us: Will you buy pieces from the Kardashian Kollection for Sears when it rolls into stores in August?Kim Peiffer

Following a much buzzed-about graphic T-shirt collection by Brian Lichtenberg last fall, Forever 21 is continuing down the fashionable designer pathway with two new clothing collaborations for spring, according to WWD. First up is the Petro Zillia collection, a line brightly-colored tops, skirts and dresses inspired by vintage fashion and one-of-kind patchwork, which debuts in stores on Friday — but we’ve already spotted Paris Hilton wearing one of the dresses! The second collection, by Rory Beca, will be unveiled in stores on March 4 and will include signature caftans and flirty dresses.
The Petro Zillia and Rory Beca collections for Forever 21 will be priced from $5.80 to $32.80. Tell us: Will you buy pieces from the new collections?–Kim Peiffer
