Tom Brady Debuts New Do at the Met Gala

What can steal a spotlight from Mary-Kate Olsen, Kanye West and Tim Tebow? Tom Brady‘s hair. The football star debuted yet another different do at Monday night’s Met Gala in New York, a freshly slicked semi faux hawk that slanted to the right.

At last year’s Gala, Brady was still working his extra-long locks — and his wife, Gisele Bündchen, was happy with the look. “That’s his choice,” she told reporters at the time. “He does what he wants. I love him no matter what — short, bald, fat. It’s all good.”

In the months following, the Patriots quarterback grew his hair even longer — “I don’t take it too seriously,” he told WWD of his mop — then chopped it in September.

At this point, Brady’s sported every hairstyle from a Bieber swoosh to a ponytail to a shag — basically, we’re used to the changes — but this look definitely gives us pause. What do you think? Tell us: Are you a fan of Brady’s new hairstyle?

Coco Rocha: How I Chose My Met Gala Outfit

When Elizabeth Taylor‘s jewels and couture were up for auction at Christie’s in December, model Coco Rocha knew she had to buy something.

“I’m a big Elizabeth Taylor fan: her pictures are iconic and when I was really young, I watched every single one of her movies,” the model, 23, tells PEOPLE. “I don’t get star-crazy, but if I ever had met Elizabeth Taylor, I probably would’ve choked.”

Though she had her eye on a few items at the Christie’s sale, the only outfit she was able to snag was a neon Givenchy pants suit with matching jacket — an ensemble she calls her “Aladdin suit” — which she’ll debut Monday night at the Met Gala in New York City.

“I went [to the auction] with a few other girls and all of us were getting these emails from our husbands saying, ‘You be good now!’ But [my husband] James [Conran] didn’t [send one],” she recalls. “I said I was the lucky one, and he was happy for me. This model does not buy designer stuff, but it was very special. I was like, ‘Yes, I must!’”

Off to celebrate the Kentucky Derby tomorrow and don’t know what to wear? Not to fear — we’re here to help!

For women, a springy, patterned dress is the way to go. Lilly Pulitzer has many options that fit the bill, including the $188 Lavin dress (left), a flirty floral frock with an empire waist and delicate ruffles along the halter neckline.

Paired with Via Spiga nude “Ryan” pumps ($98.90, center), the outfit gets its Kentucky charm in the form of a floppy hat from Nine West ($32.99, center) — a Derby trademark that’s said to bring luck to the race.

Helena Bonham Carter on Her Love of Dress-Up … and Those Mismatched Shoes

When asked if she’s into fashion, Helena Bonham Carter simply replies, “All I’m into is dressing up.”

That could be an understatement; the actress often wears polarizing ensembles — and is quite aware of the negative attention such outfits attract.

Speaking to Daniel Radcliffe in the latest issue of Interview, the Dark Shadows star says clothing often changes how she feels. “I think I transform into somebody else,” she explains, “and then you see the photo and go, ‘That’s so not what I meant …’ It’s the disappointment after. That’s why I ceased to watch myself anymore because I go, ‘It’s still me!’”

That was the issue with her universally panned 2011 Golden Globes ensemble, a Vivienne Westwood dress with mismatched shoes. “I thought, ‘F— it,’” she recalls. “I looked at the dress and thought, ‘It’s not gonna be well received, so let’s just distract.’ At least you’ve got some control, you know?”

That attitude served her well, though; shortly after, Marc Jacobs tapped her for his autumn/winter 2011 advertising campaign. “It was a result of those two shoes,” she says proudly.

Shailene Woodley: I Didn’t Become an Actress to Wear Designer Gowns

Shailene WoodleyTony DiMaio/Startraks

It’s no secret that Shailene Woodley prefers comfort to couture (she did wear running shoes to a Golden Globes afterparty), but in the latest issue of ASOS magazine, she really hammers the fact home.

“My style … consists of sweats, sweats and sweats,” she shares. “Big baggy jeans — specifically jeans that you find in thrift stores that are obviously not made for women — those are the best because they’re super-comfy. And I love baggy sweaters, too.”

Her fashion favorites are a far cry from the dresses she wore on the red carpet this awards season. “The one thing that did get annoying was the constant use of makeup and fancy dresses,” she admits of the January and February shows. “It’s turned from this world of cinema to, ‘You’re not pretty enough, not skinny enough, not best-dressed enough.’ But I didn’t do The Descendants to wear a designer’s dress and a lot of makeup and get points from the fashion police.”

How to Best Showcase a Derby Hat? With a Little White Dress!

Kentucky Derby Hats
WireImage (2); Splash News Online

With Kentucky Derby hats, there’s just one rule: the bigger the better. Sure, the day is about horses, but let’s be honest — the toppers are pretty fun to watch, too.

So how to best showcase a head-turning hat? In the past, several stars have worn theirs with little white dresses, keeping the focus up top. In 2009, Kim Kardashian (left) went basic in a white sheath, black accessories and a black-and-gray topper; in 2011, Kate Walsh (center) pumped up her navy hat with a Max Mara dress and complementary pumps; and that same year, Paula Patton (right) went for the win in a Grey Goose-inspired hat by Louise Green with a simple white dress and blue shoes.
