Supermodel and actress Amber Valletta is definitely no stranger to having all eyes on her, and Thursday night, she was the center of attention as she made her designer debut with the launch of her collection Amber Valletta for Monrow at the Ron Herman Melrose store. Although the supermodel-turned-actress (and now fashion designer!) may not be strutting her stuff on the catwalk anymore, she was runway-ready as she dazzled the crowd in a stunning black long-sleeve mini dress from her collection. The sleek star worked with stylist Lia Davis to design a collection that she describes as “classic with an edge but accessible,” she tells PEOPLE. Pieces like the ivory fringe cape, and gold ’50s high-waisted boy shorts give the collection an edgy vintage touch. The collection is already being worn by stars like Rachel Bilson, who turned up to support on Thursday night, and Jessica Stroup. Guests couldn’t stop raving about the collection as they enjoyed some bubbly from Perrier-Jouet and Crumbs cupcakes — if only it was available online already!–Tiffany Matloob

For one week a year, Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, 28, says things get so crazy and hectic, “I just have to find power from somewhere else to keep going!” she laughs. That week, of course, is leading up to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which took place in N.Y.C. on Nov 19 and will air on CBS at 10pm on Dec. 1. Here’s how the Angel, and mom of 1-year-old Anja (who stayed at home in Brazil with Grandma) made it through.

Saturday, Nov. 14: Fly in from Brazil for my fitting. It’s a big deal to do the fitting. They had all the cameras there. Glad I rested up in Brazil. Now the craziness begins!

Monday, Nov. 16: Shooting a VS campaign today while I’m here. This whole time I am trying to find time to work out because we’re shooting ALL day. At 7, my trainer comes over and we work out for an hour. It’s mostly butt and abs and arms. Last year I had to lose 40 lbs. after having my daughter. This year I am 2 lbs less than usual so I am not freaking out…Still, one week before the show is when I get worried!

Tuesday, Nov. 17: Lots of filming today! I had to do my second fitting and I had to do a biography with VS , which we filmed all over New York. It took so long, I didn’t get to work out!

Wednesday, Nov. 18: In Times Square to promote the show, then we have to go and rehearse. The rehearsal will finish so late, and I really want to work out the night before the show, so I might not be able to get a massage, like I wanted.

Thursday, Nov. 19, 8 am: The show is today! Running late to hair and makeup. Oops. I’m opening the show, so obviously I’m more nervous than anyone else. It’s a big responsibility. I can’t even eat breakfast. Just coffee.
11 am: So many interviews!
4 pm: We tape two shows, so the first one starts now. Walking down the runway, I went on autopilot and blacked out. I don’t even remember what I did. I was just trying to be sexy and fun.
5 pm: Break between shows. I’m hungry! I’m going straight for the catering table.
8 pm: Second show. I didn’t fall in the first one, so I’m not so nervous now. Even if I trip they have one good take! The Black Eyed Peas sing while I’m wearing this bright neon outfit. And the wings are on the arms, so it doesn’t even hide anything!
10 pm: Done for the day! I got a Valentino Couture dress to wear and amazing diamonds from Ivanka Trump. Heading over to the afterparty at M2 in NYC.
1 am: Now I’m really hungry! Grabbing cheeseburgers at Cafeteria with my friends.

Heidi Klum didn’t plan on walking the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night, but let’s just say she’s a little bit impulsive. “I felt great the night of the fashion show and decided last minute to walk,” the supermodel, 36, who welcomed daughter Lou, with husband Seal, last month, tells PEOPLE exclusively. Klum, who had already been fitted for her dress, opened the Enchanted Forest-themed part of the show, wearing a vine-strewn corset and a full white skirt. “I loved my outfit,” she says, “so I thought, why not?” Her surprise appearance, known only to Victoria’s Secret insiders, drew screams and applause from a shocked audience during the live show Thursday night. Though Klum, who was expected only to host the festivities, said that while her new job behind the scenes meant there was “definitely less pressure,” walking in the show was a thrill for her. “I’m proud of being the curvy model on the Victoria’s Secret stage,” she says, adding that she enjoyed the show herself. “The Black Eyed Peas and all of the looks for the show were fantastic!” You can watch Heidi — and all the Angels — hit the runway when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS at 10pm EST on Dec. 1.–Charlotte Triggs

We’re all for a little style experimentation, but when we spotted beauty mavens Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen at MoMA’s Film Benefit honoring Tim Burton this week in New York we were more than a little perplexed. We’d gotten used to Mary-Kate being the style risk-taker and her twin Ashley taking a more conservative approach. But the duo played with our expectations, with Ashley adding rainbow stripes to her hair and her sister going as bold as ever with the deepest red lips around. In her new film Broken Embraces, Penélope Cruz dresses the part of a mogul’s wife and budding movie star, but at the Calvin Klein Collection-sponsored Cinema Society premiere at the Crosby Street Hotel last night, she looked simply angelic in a long white velvet coat and matching dress from Calvin Klein Collection with glittering Chopard diamonds. “She’s an angel,” said Francisco Costa, who is the Women’s Creative Director, Calvin Klein Collection. “She’s a total clothes horse. She looks amazing in everything.” Costa was also struck at how well the camera reacts to Penélope, even in her off time. “It was quite telling today. I wasn’t in the last fitting, and I got pictures of her in the clothes at the hotel room. And they looked like movie stills. She was just wearing the clothes in the hotel room, but it almost felt like Helmut Newton pictures, there was so much of her in the photos.” Even for a star as graceful as Penélope, it is still demanding to promote two movies at once — her musical Nine is coming out in December, as well. “Well, yes, I’m dressing for two tours at once over these two weeks, so it’s great that I have a team of people that help me.” Luckily after months of rigorous training for her dance numbers in Nine, she looks as fabulous in her red carpet clothes as she does in her revealing costumes. “For Nine, I had to rehearse a number for three months,” said Cruz. “That was the only way to do that, I had singing teachers and dancing teachers. I did dancing when I was growing up. I did classical ballet, but what I do in Nine is a VERY different type of dance. It was really like starting from zero, in a way.”–Jeffrey Slonim

Twilight’s Ashley Greene might have looked red-hot at last night’s L.A. premiere of the film series’ latest installment, New Moon, but she tells PEOPLE that finding her perfect scarlet Prabal Gurung stunner was no small matter. “We picked a dress out, had it ready,” Ashley says of a different look, which she originally chose with her stylist. But at the last minute, “I decided I didn’t like it and we had to start from scratch.” Just how down to the wire did it get? “I stopped by the tailors right before I got here to pick up the dress,” she admits. The rest of her red-carpet prep, however, was less of an ordeal. For two hours on the Sunday before the premiere, Ashley received eyelash extensions from expert Calma Yom at The Parlour on 3rd and then returned to the salon to have her hair extensions freshened up the following day. As for her bronzed skin, Ashley looked to St. Tropez tanning expert Fiona Locke, who customized and contoured her skin before the big event. Hollywood’s fashion elite, including Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba and Ginnifer Goodwin, flocked to the Prada Book Launch at the Prada Rodeo Drive boutique, which was transformed into a library in celebration of the 708 page book which highlights Prada fashion collections and architectural collaborations throughout the decades. But while the theme of the night may have been reading, it was all about lavishing praise on designer Miuccia Prada for all assembled in their Prada and Miu Miu finest. “I almost wore this dress to the Emmys,” Goodwin exclaimed of her gorgeous white ’50s-inspired ensemble, “I have been wanting desperately to wear it and show it off!” Newly blonde, Miu Miu-clad Emma Roberts added, “I love Prada. I think every piece in their collection never fails to disappoint. It’s always really unique and Miu Miu does the same.” Inside the party, a Prada LBD-clad Biel flipped through the tome, showing off her favorite images to friends while Alba sipped on the event’s signature cocktail and gushed about the designer. But the show’s host was quick to reveal, “I’m not going to keep this one on all night!” She explained, “I’m supposed to have nine [costume changes] during the show.” And did she ever! Champagne, elegant canapes, celebrities — this was definitely not your typical Tuesday night shopping outing. Armani Exchange opened up their doors to fashionistas to preview their nightlife-inspired A/X Holiday Collection on Tuesday night. Alexa Chung, host of MTV’s It’s On With Alexa Chung, joined the store festivities to do a little shopping of her own. And the fashion It-girl, who was rocking a black boyfriend blazer, frilled white button-up shirt with a polka dot tie and cut-off shorts, told PEOPLE that she knows where to look for style inspiration. “I watch a lot of films, looking at someone like Francoise Hardy or those ’60s actresses, like Jane Birkin,” Chung explaned. “Cybill Shepherd in The Last Picture Show is amazing.” As Alexa strolled the store looking at clothes, she bobbed and sang along to indie hits — and revealed the top fashion muses she’d love to bring on her show. “I’d love to have Marianne Faithfull or Pamela Des Barres,” the talk-show host said. Kellie Pickler may be one of country’s most iconic blondes — she’s even impersonated Dolly Parton — but for now, she’s joining a less represented segment of the music community: redheads! The bombshell debuted her newly auburn locks on the red carpet of the CMA Awards tonight, having carefully tucked them under a hat for Parton’s Live from London DVD premiere party on Tuesday night. Pickler joked of the attention her new do is getting on the red carpet, saying, “It seems to be the thing to talk about.” She also gave a shout-out to legendary country redhead Reba McEntire, suggesting that she was joining her ranks since “we’ve got enough blondes in country.” But, she did admit to PEOPLE that she is still adjusting to her new do. “The hair doesn’t make the person, but it has been a shocker. I wake up in the morning and walk by the mirror and I’m like, ‘Who’s that!’ I thought someone broke into my house!” Pickler did manage to find the upside, explaining that, “It’s been interesting with red hair cause you can’t wear the same things. It’s official: Heidi Klum is returning to the runway just 6 weeks after giving birth to baby Lou Samuel — as host of the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show on Nov. 19. “Heidi is superwoman. She had a baby a few weeks ago and she is hosting the most high profile fashion show in the world,” Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer of VS tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Victoria’s Secret is thrilled to have her back. There is no one like her.” Klum played coy about preparing for the show, which airs Dec. 1 at 10pm on CBS, saying she planned “to take it easy and see what happens,” after delivering Lou, her daughter with Seal — and her fourth child — last month. Still, her fellow Angels aren’t surprised to see Heidi back to work. “She can do it all,” says fellow Angel (and new mom) Alessandra Ambrosio. “She’s a great mom and she’s got so much going on. She’s an inspiration.” We can’t wait to see Heidi and all of the Angels, including Marisa Miller in this year’s diamond bra, work the runway. –Charlotte Triggs

One of the benefits of being a Hollywood starlet is getting your hands on designer duds before they hit store racks. And the much-anticipated Jimmy Choo for H&M line is no exception. Clad in sparkling black and leather looks from the yet-to-be-seen collection, stars like Hayden Panettiere, Kate Walsh, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Whitney Port, Rashida Jones, Olivia Wilde, Diablo Cody and more celebrated the impending launch of the designer collaboration. “I wanted to create looks that women could go out to holiday parties, and events in,” Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo founder and president, tells PEOPLE at the party, which featured a performance by rapper M.I.A. “My aesthetic is to always have a rock and roll edge.” Though this line will come with a much lower price tag than the high fashion heels the brand is known for, Diablo Cody tells PEOPLE that the name still makes her think luxe. “I think about stilettos, I think about beautiful fabrics, and I think about money that I shouldn’t have spent,” says the Oscar-winning screenplay writer for Juno. From studded sandals and hot pink clutches to velvet tuxedo jackets and high-waisted leather leggings, it looks like Hollywood’s leading ladies are loving Jimmy Choo for H&M just as much as the luxury shoe line–and so are we! Looking super fabulous (at 44 years old) in a slinky Roberto Cavalli dress and Rene Caovilla sparkly heels, Elizabeth Hurley was “thrilled” to host Harper’s Bazaar’s “Fabulous At Every Age” party and book launch Thursday evening. The event, held at Hearst Tower in New York, honored five women representing ages 20 to 60-something. Hurley, the international face of Estée Lauder, enthused, “When they asked me to come host the event, I was thrilled, really thrilled. I really believe passionately that women can look fabulous whatever age they are.” What’s Hurley’s secret to looking so fabulous? “When you’re older, you have to have your hair cut regularly, you have to pluck your eyebrows regularly, you have to stay slim, and you have to exercise more,” she said. “It gets a little harder, but the rewards are better because more people give up. So if you don’t give up, you stand out more.” In addition to promoting Breast Cancer Awareness and modeling, Hurley is busy launching an organic foods line next week in England, called Elizabeth Hurley Organic Snacks. “I’m so embarrassed!” she said with a laugh, about the title. “It’s the same when I did my beach line. To honor some of the biggest names in the business, Fashion Group International called upon the luxe labels’ star clients including, Gwen Stefani, James Franco, Jon Bon Jovi and Mary J. Blige, “I’ve been a Gucci girl as long as I remember Gucci being around,” said Blige, who kicked off the evening by joining Franco in giving Gucci Creative Director Frida Giannini the Star Honoree award. “I went to the fashion show in Milan,” she told PEOPLE after stepping down from the stage, “And everything that was coming down that runway, I was screaming. So many people keep their game-face on: they are quiet. I was screaming.” And while the singer relished her time praising the designer on stage and off, Gwen Stefani got a case of stage fright when giving a beauty award to Catherine Walsh, Coty’s Senior Vice President of American Fragrances. “”I hate doing this. This is my hell,” Stefani said of public speaking. Other stars who took to the stage included Jon Bon Jovi, who presented Kenneth Cole with a humanitarian award and Iman, who honored Michael Kors. George Clooney might have been the star of the show at the Fantastic Mr. Fox premiere in London on Wednesday, but it was his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis’s red carpet outfit that really wowed the crowd. The Milan-based television presenter remained loyal to her roots with a head-to-toe Italian outfit. Wearing a long black asymmetric dress with leather detailing by Emilio Pucci, fresh from the label’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection accessorized with Giorgio Armani heels and a Corto Moltedo ‘Susan Bow’ clutch bag, the look was Dolce Vita glam at its best. Gabriele Corto Moltedo, who has a celebrity fan base including Madonna and Naomi Campbell, couldn’t be happier that Canalis chose to wear his bag. “Elisabetta is as graceful as she is sexy,” he tells PEOPLE from his Paris boutique. “Plus, she is super fun and a fellow Italian, it’s perfect!” While stylist and pal Valentina Micchetti tells PEOPLE, “We always choose her outfits together. We are both Italian so, of course, we love Italian designers,” adding “plus we have personal friendships with the designers, so it’s only natural in our eyes.” And Clooney on her arm really does add the perfect finishing touch — bellissima! –Monique Jessen

What’s better than one hot store opening in a new location in West Hollywood? Two hot stores opening at once, of course! When Diavolina and Madison launched with a single party benefiting the Susan G. Komen foundation Thursday night hosted by Current/Eliott designers Meritt Elliot and Emily Current, Lucy Hale, Tichina Arnold, and Mandy Moore came out to celebrate. Moore, who works with Current and Elliot (they are also stylists) regularly, had something else her mind: her husband of seven months, Ryan Adams. “I’m learning every day,” she said of being married. “I’m lucky because I get to spend every day with my best friend and he’s a great influence.” And their pals second the emotion, with Elliot saying of the couple, “Being around both of them is a joy. They’re super fun.” Mandy also praises Emily and Merritt in turn, enthusing, “I’m always happy to support them, I couldn’t be more excited for their success. You know when hope for people and they deserve it and then it happens to the good people — there is justice in the world. I adore them and I am always happy to come out. Anything to show my love.” The other stars were focused on love of a different kind — retail love! “I’ve never been to Diavolina before but, of course, I’ve been to Madison,” said Hale. “I saw a really cute studded bag in there so I’m going to check that out.” Arnold was thinking bigger. “There are a red pair of Yves Saint Laurent shoes over there. I must have those. It’s perfect for the holidays.”

The Paris fashion world never expected to see pasties on the runway. Nor, apparently, did the creative consultant behind the disastrous line, Lindsay Lohan. The actress, 23, who was skewered by the fashion press for the first Ungaro collection she served as artistic advisor on, blamed the fiasco on “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” As for the much-maligned sequined pasties flashed by the models when they opened their jackets and blouses, Lohan said told PEOPLE on Wednesday at a Victoria’s Secret Velvet launch party in New York that she was as shocked as the audience. “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out,” she says, adding that “I am going back to Paris for the next collection….I am learning.” Still, the clock for her next collection is already ticking. “It’s already in January,” she says. “I thought it was in March.” –Isley Kasica

For her first interview behind the mic, the singer chatted with legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld backstage after his namesake collection hit the Paris runway. The singer and designer discussed Karl’s collection of mirrored mini dresses and guitar adorned shades along with music and Paris Fashion Week.
