For one week a year, Victoria’s Secret Angel Alessandra Ambrosio, 28, says things get so crazy and hectic, “I just have to find power from somewhere else to keep going!” she laughs. That week, of course, is leading up to the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, which took place in N.Y.C. on Nov 19 and will air on CBS at 10pm on Dec. 1. Here’s how the Angel, and mom of 1-year-old Anja (who stayed at home in Brazil with Grandma) made it through.

Saturday, Nov. 14: Fly in from Brazil for my fitting. It’s a big deal to do the fitting. They had all the cameras there. Glad I rested up in Brazil. Now the craziness begins!

Monday, Nov. 16: Shooting a VS campaign today while I’m here. This whole time I am trying to find time to work out because we’re shooting ALL day. At 7, my trainer comes over and we work out for an hour. It’s mostly butt and abs and arms. Last year I had to lose 40 lbs. after having my daughter. This year I am 2 lbs less than usual so I am not freaking out…Still, one week before the show is when I get worried!

Tuesday, Nov. 17: Lots of filming today! I had to do my second fitting and I had to do a biography with VS , which we filmed all over New York. It took so long, I didn’t get to work out!

Wednesday, Nov. 18: In Times Square to promote the show, then we have to go and rehearse. The rehearsal will finish so late, and I really want to work out the night before the show, so I might not be able to get a massage, like I wanted.

Thursday, Nov. 19, 8 am: The show is today! Running late to hair and makeup. Oops. I’m opening the show, so obviously I’m more nervous than anyone else. It’s a big responsibility. I can’t even eat breakfast. Just coffee.
11 am: So many interviews!
4 pm: We tape two shows, so the first one starts now. Walking down the runway, I went on autopilot and blacked out. I don’t even remember what I did. I was just trying to be sexy and fun.
5 pm: Break between shows. I’m hungry! I’m going straight for the catering table.
8 pm: Second show. I didn’t fall in the first one, so I’m not so nervous now. Even if I trip they have one good take! The Black Eyed Peas sing while I’m wearing this bright neon outfit. And the wings are on the arms, so it doesn’t even hide anything!
10 pm: Done for the day! I got a Valentino Couture dress to wear and amazing diamonds from Ivanka Trump. Heading over to the afterparty at M2 in NYC.
1 am: Now I’m really hungry! Grabbing cheeseburgers at Cafeteria with my friends.

Heidi Klum didn’t plan on walking the runway of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show last night, but let’s just say she’s a little bit impulsive. “I felt great the night of the fashion show and decided last minute to walk,” the supermodel, 36, who welcomed daughter Lou, with husband Seal, last month, tells PEOPLE exclusively. Klum, who had already been fitted for her dress, opened the Enchanted Forest-themed part of the show, wearing a vine-strewn corset and a full white skirt. “I loved my outfit,” she says, “so I thought, why not?” Her surprise appearance, known only to Victoria’s Secret insiders, drew screams and applause from a shocked audience during the live show Thursday night. Though Klum, who was expected only to host the festivities, said that while her new job behind the scenes meant there was “definitely less pressure,” walking in the show was a thrill for her. “I’m proud of being the curvy model on the Victoria’s Secret stage,” she says, adding that she enjoyed the show herself. “The Black Eyed Peas and all of the looks for the show were fantastic!” You can watch Heidi — and all the Angels — hit the runway when the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airs on CBS at 10pm EST on Dec. 1.–Charlotte Triggs

It’s official: Heidi Klum is returning to the runway just 6 weeks after giving birth to baby Lou Samuel — as host of the annual Victoria’s Secret fashion show on Nov. 19. “Heidi is superwoman. She had a baby a few weeks ago and she is hosting the most high profile fashion show in the world,” Ed Razek, President and Chief Marketing Officer of VS tells PEOPLE exclusively. “Victoria’s Secret is thrilled to have her back. There is no one like her.” Klum played coy about preparing for the show, which airs Dec. 1 at 10pm on CBS, saying she planned “to take it easy and see what happens,” after delivering Lou, her daughter with Seal — and her fourth child — last month. Still, her fellow Angels aren’t surprised to see Heidi back to work. “She can do it all,” says fellow Angel (and new mom) Alessandra Ambrosio. “She’s a great mom and she’s got so much going on. The Paris fashion world never expected to see pasties on the runway. Nor, apparently, did the creative consultant behind the disastrous line, Lindsay Lohan. The actress, 23, who was skewered by the fashion press for the first Ungaro collection she served as artistic advisor on, blamed the fiasco on “coming in so late and having not that much time to do a whole collection.” As for the much-maligned sequined pasties flashed by the models when they opened their jackets and blouses, Lohan said told PEOPLE on Wednesday at a Victoria’s Secret Velvet launch party in New York that she was as shocked as the audience. “I wasn’t aware of the nipple tassels on the girls until they were walking out,” she says, adding that “I am going back to Paris for the next collection….I am learning.” Still, the clock for her next collection is already ticking. “It’s already in January,” she says. “I thought it was in March.” –Isley Kasica

For her first interview behind the mic, the singer chatted with legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld backstage after his namesake collection hit the Paris runway. The singer and designer discussed Karl’s collection of mirrored mini dresses and guitar adorned shades along with music and Paris Fashion Week. Moments after showing her first collection for Ungaro in Paris on Sunday afternoon, Lindsay Lohan and co-designer Estrella Archs stood together backstage, hugging each other warmly amid the chaos and congratulations at the Louvre showrooms. “I feel like it’s pretty much a fairytale,” Lohan, who signed on as the house’s Artistic Advisor this summer, told PEOPLE. “It’s certainly more than I could have ever imagined, more than I’d ever hoped for.” Her voice absenting into hoarse whispers, she added, “I couldn’t be happier. Seeing everything pulled together, is simply amazing.” Holding tightly to Archs, a veteran Spanish designer, Lohan enthused, “the last five days have just been so crazy, chaotic. And this is just so amazing after working all night, this week in the office together until 1 a.m. and 3 p.m., seeing everything pull together.” And the closeness of the designers is not just for show. “This is a fashion couple,” Moufarrige told PEOPLE. “That’s something which we haven’t seen much in fashion and especially not women designing together.” Leaning into a break from post-show television interviews, Lohan smiled warmly. “I feel so honored,” she told PEOPLE. “I can’t wait to be involved again, to be more involved on the next collections, to continue to please people, add more to the designs, to shock people…” While one fashion writer-attendee told PEOPLE that she thought the show was “very young and true to the spirit of Ungaro. It was a homerun,” the official reviews were more of a mixed bag, with the International Herald Tribune’s Suzie Menkes writing, “The Emanuel Ungaro show on Sunday may go down in history as the final gasp of celebrity madness” while L’EXPRESS cheered the clothing, “Dresses, sensually cut to the extreme, pants hugging the leg as closely as possible and the cloths dear to Ungaro putting into value an impeccable silhouette, shown off in fuchsia, blue, orange, white and black.” –Peter Mikelbank

In a fitting tribute to London Fashion Week’s 25th anniversary, Christopher Bailey brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to the capital with his latest collection for Burberry Prorsum. On the star-studded front row, Gwyneth Paltrow took her spot next to Burberry campaign model, Emma Watson but not before rushing over to greet the famous editor-turned-movie star, Anna Wintour. “That’s so weird because I literally just saw your movie last night — I loved it!,” gushed Paltrow. Victoria Beckham, Liv Tyler, Mary-Kate Olsen, Frieda Pinto and the brand’s face Emma Watson were also seated front row at the show, where the theme was ‘traditional Burberry with a twist’ (think trench coats encrusted with silver rocks and ruched mini-dresses in pale pastel hues). “I thought it was brilliant,” Posh told PEOPLE backstage adding, “I loved the colors a lot and the accessories were great.” Frieda Pinto couldn’t have agreed more, herself in a pale yellow dress straight off the runway, she gushed to PEOPLE, “There were so many colours out there I would wear, it was hard to choose!” As Christopher Bailey was greeted by his famous friends, he told PEOPLE how honored he was to have their support. “We had people flying over just for tonight, it was unbelievable and really emotional actually.” At the after party, Liv headed for the stage to see The Kooks perform live, saying “Everything was just beautiful, and so I’m happy to be back in London. It was a family affair at the Twenty8Twelve show on Monday night when Sienna and Savannah Miller’s mom, Jo Miller, step-mother Kelly Hoppen and Savannah’s husband took their front row seats at the sisters’ second London Fashion Week collection. Also in the front row — Anna Wintour and MTV presenter Alexa Chung. Backstage, the design duo confessed to PEOPLE that the collection had been hard work and was the product of much sisterly bonding and midnight texting. “We do finish each others sentences,” Savannah told PEOPLE. “Yeah, I guess we are really lucky to have a great relationship where we can work together,” agreed Sienna, as they celebrated with a much-needed cocktail. And with Sienna currently performing in Broadway’s After Miss Julie across the ocean in New York City, the close-knit sisters have proved to be as creative about keeping in touch as they were for their collection of tight denim dresses and striped leotards. “Usually I get my best ideas in the middle of the night,” said Sienna. “We text all the time and we’re always on the bbm [BlackBerry Mobile],” added her sister. With that, the actress fled the backstage area to board a plane back to New York with her mom, her dog and the memories of Anna Wintour applauding her very own fashion moment.–Monique Jessen

Heidi Klum’s latest role? Voicing “Heidi Barbie,” the 11.5-inch mini-me version of the supermodel and “Project Runway” host, who attended New York Fashion Week in place of Klum, who was back in L.A. with husband Seal awaiting the birth of her fourth child. The doll, whose voice sounds like a fast-talking version of Klum on helium, interviewed such style luminaries as Michael Kors, Rachel Zoe and Mario Testino backstage at the fashion shows. “The ‘Heidi Barbie’ voice makes Seal crazy,” says Klum, who “was just riffing” when voicing the doll’s interviews and observations (sample line: “This is my first time hailing a caaaab in New York City!”), according to her rep. Of course, Heidi Barbie was appropriately attired in a sequined minidress, Victoria’s Secret undies and a ring by jeweler-to-the-stars Lorraine Schwartz. When Tommy Hilfiger sent his latest looks down the runway at Bryant Park during New York Fashion Week a cavalcade of stars turned out, including Naomi Watts, Emily Blunt, Penn Badgley and January Jones — but no one was more enthusiastic than Taylor Swift who nabbed a coveted seat in the front row. “I love it,” she exclaimed to PEOPLE of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. “It was wonderful.” And the designer himself was just as thrilled to give Taylor a close-up view. “We planned it a long time ago,” Hilfiger says of inviting the young star to his show. “She’s a friend of mine. She’s a huge star, a wonderful, wonderful girl. She’s amazing,” continues the designer, who’s also a pal of Taylor’s parents. And Hilfiger’s not the only entrepeneur impressed with the country singer. Russell Simmons, who caught up with Taylor in the front row, also sang her praises. “She’s a very beautiful girl: striking,” he says, before addressing the VMA incident involving Kanye West. “I think what happened with Kanye at the MTV awards is a non-issue,” he says. “She spoke, she was gracious. The clothing wasn’t the bright thing at Anna Sui’s circus-themed runway show Wednesday night — for Peaches Geldof, it was her hair, too. The Brit It-girl debuted newly darkened locks in a rather unusual shade: dark purple. “I change it once every two months,” Geldof told PEOPLE, “and I thought purple because I’d exhausted every other option so why not?” As for the next color on her hair palette, “I want to go blue,” says the socialite. Sitting front row at Sui’s show in Bryant Park, Geldof enjoyed a low key appearance, ignoring the frenzy surrounding Olivia Palermo shooting a scene for The City with ELLE Creative Director Joe Zee, and instead focusing on the clothes on the catwalk. And what makes Sui one of her favorites? “She’s forward-thinking, but at the same time her collections reference back to eras like the ’70s and ’60s [where] really iconic moments in fashion happened,” said Geldof. In the front row at the Marc Jacobs show on Monday night, fashionistas were abuzz about Lady Gaga’s four costume changes at the MTV awards the night before. “Provocative, daring, uncomfortable. . .fun,” said Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle. “I don’t know if she will look normal,” he said of her slated appearance at the Marc Jacobs show, “…but she will definitely wear Marc.” And while Madonna made it to her seat before the show started promptly at 8:00 p.m., Lady Gaga, holding hands with Jacobs’s partner Lorenzo Martone, stood watching from the entrance. After the show, she ran straight backstage, telling the waiting photographers, “I need to see Marc first . . . please.” And not only did she find Marc, but she found Madonna as well for an air-kiss and a photo-op. So what did the pop divas think of the show? “I loved it, I loved it, I loved it,” Madonna enthused, while Lady Gaga expounded, “Every season still takes my breath away. It was breathtaking. I love Marc Jacobs. Life is a red carpet, and tonight the red carpet is his.” She continued, “The show was amazing. I love the ballet scenes and the romantic ruffles, the Japanese makeup…When you’re watching Marc Jacobs, life is a stage. I was hyperventilating.” So was the crowd when Lady Gaga took to the stage at the V magazine party later that evening (that Jacobs hosted), leaving her delicate Marc Jacobs black and silver dress behind for a daring red stage costume. When Gwen Stefani kicked off New York Fashion Week’s first day with a presentation of her Spring/Summer 2010 L.A.M.B. at Milk Studios in Manhattan, she filled the room with her signature eclectic mix. But something was a little different this time around, which marks the singer’s seventh year as a designer. “There were so many things that inspired and influenced the collection,” Gwen told PEOPLE about the show. “It kind of started with a little bit of an African ’80s nod,” she said of the mix of harem pants, animal patterns, beaded necklaces and graphic prints. “But the theme I was really focusing on was just trying to create the stuff you’re looking for in your closet — really casual, easy, comfortable, wearable stuff.” And it seems she met her goal, based on wear-everywhere pieces like a tie-dyed skinny jeans, and the perfect white motorcycle jacket. As for creating the go-to staples in her fans wardrobes, Gwen explains, “I’ve always wanted that out of L.A.M.B. but it’s not easy to do. I finally got to that point where after seven years I’m really starting to learn how to get there and this collection totally reflects that. It’s very neutral colors — black, white, gray with pops of like hot red and crazy yellow and electric blue. It’s basically a really simple collection.” We can’t wait for spring! New York City’s much anticipated Fashion’s Night Out lived up to the hype, especially for the screaming fans and shoppers who made their way up to famed department store Bergdorf Goodman on Fifth Avenue to catch a glimpse of Victoria Beckham, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Lines to get into the luxury store stretched around the block and inside was just as packed. Victoria, clad in thigh-high Gucci boots and a neon mini dress, arrived around 7:30 PM to pose for pictures and sign Fashion’s Night Out T-shirts, telling PEOPLE on her way out, “It was great. It was really great.” Meanwhile, Mary-Kate and Ashley took a break from designing successful lines Elizabeth and James and The Row to work as bartenders on the 7th floor. Marli Milask, a lucky shopper who got an Olsen-mixed martini, tells PEOPLE, “It’s not that strong, but it’s good. We waited an hour to get inside and just see them for ten minutes, but it was worth it. They were very nice, just pouring drinks and handing them out.” And though the scene at Bergdorf’s was mayhem, one of the bartenders who worked beside the Olsens tells PEOPLE that the famous designers weren’t phased. “It was very relaxed. We were making a vodka and pomegranate drink. We mixed a couple of hundred drinks together. They’re very hard workers. Last month, we told you Real Housewives of New Jersey star Danielle Staub’s teen daughter had signed with IMG models, and she’s already snagged her first cover. The Daily, Fashion Week’s daily glossy that recounts all the shows, parties and gossip from the day before, usually reserves its much coveted covers for designers and the most talked-about looks, but this Saturday, they are introducing the fashion world to Christine, whom they are billing as “America’s next beauty”. So, does this mean we’ll see Christine on the runway this week? “She may walk in one or two, depending on her school schedule,” an IMG rep tells PEOPLE. And while most girls in Christine’s position would take some time off from school, this Jersey girl is sticking to the books. “I’m so excited to be signed by IMG, and I know people will see me around the upcoming shows, but as the President reminded, school comes first so I’m going to concentrate on my studies,” Christine tells PEOPLE. “I want to make sure that any work I do in the coming year allows me to focus my energy on my classes, varsity track and of course my first love: reading.” We will be on the look out for Christine hitting the runway — and, of course, her mother Danielle sitting front row — this weekend.
