RUMOR PATROL: Betsey Johnson “Will Never Retire”

Stan Honda/Getty

Despite reports stemming from a NYmag.com interview where Betsey Johnson claims to be retiring after her September show, the designer tells PEOPLE through her rep that “I will never retire while I’ve still got my legs and my make-up box.” An official comment from the brand states, “With rich history and significant opportunities for future growth, Betsey Johnson wants her brand to live on forever. It is only wise that key management and talent is put in place to secure the continued health of the company for the future. Betsey Johnson will continue to provide creative inspiration and leadership as long as she is with us.” And while NYmag.com pointed to the company’s creative director Eric Santori, who has previously designed for Vera Wang, Herve Leger and Azzedine Alaia, as Betsey’s replacement, we can’t imagine the house without her. From her cartwheels on the runway to her whimsical printed party dresses, where would New York Fashion be without Betsey? We’re glad to hear she’s staying at the party a little bit longer!

Nicole Richie and Pete Wentz Show Off Their Designs on the Runway

Dan Steinberg/AP

What happens when two of Hollywood’s hippest designers team up for a runway show? Last night’s House of Harlow, Clandestine Industries and Switch boutique runway show! Nicole Richie, who was modeling her own designs, added her House of Harlow 1960 pieces to feminine fashions from Switch boutique, telling PEOPLE that she picked based on “complimenting the outfit,” while Pete Wentz went for an individualized approach to his models. “[It's] just about streetwear so I let the guy pick. Whatever looked best on the individual.” Budding girl group Paradiso Girls opened the show with a quick performance and special guest spot by rapper Eve. With Wentz’s wife Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and Richie’s partner Joel Madden watching on, the male models donned high top sneakers, T-shirts saying things like I (heart) BX, hoodies, and fedoras from Clandestine Industries. The ladies walked the runway in black mini skirts, back stretch pants with holes cut into them, heels with neon green soles and hot pink peep toe, jumpsuits with white lace lining and gold belts as accents to Nicole’s bold jewelry. Wentz thanked the audiences with “Thank you for checking out our lines,” just before rockers The Academy Is… closed the evening with a short performance. –reporting by Jessica Herndon

Baywatch beauty Pamela Anderson left the sandy beaches of California behind and strutted her stuff on the Parisian catwalk in Vivienne Westwood’s ready-to-wear show today. The actress, who is the face of Westwood’s current campaign, showed off three very different looks from the designer’s collection — one even had what appeared to be angel’s wings! — before taking a final bow with Westwood herself. While we can’t imagine Pam wearing the long, figure-hiding black skirt off the catwalk, we can totally see her rocking the short-shorts, knee socks and T-shirt look. Chloe Sevigny’s Unisex Designs Debut At London Fashion Week

Sean Cunningham

Sienna Miller wasn’t the only star power showing off her design skills at London Fashion Week Big Love’s Chloe Sevigny also debuted her second collection for Opening Ceremony. The new line, Chloe tells WWD, is a “slight homage” to one of her favorite designers, Miguel Adrover, with dashes of “gay lumberjack,” James Dean, preppy New England and English punk. This unisex line marks Chloe’s first foray into menswear. “There’s much less pressure doing men’s, and because this collection is unisex and oversized, I felt like I could have more fun,” she tells WWD. Long cardigans, leopard-print, thermals, Fair Isle and skinny trousers were just some of the designs that made up the collection. Chloe’s Opening Ceremony line is priced from $95 for a fringed scarf to $945 for an overcoat and is sold at Opening Ceremony stores in New York and Los Angeles as well as at Barney’s, Colette and Dover Street Market. While Chloe has no intention of leaving acting for fashion she does want to spread her creative wings. “Maybe I’d do a very small collection for one of the big luxury brands,” she tells the fashion publication. Sienna Miller’s Twenty8Twelve Makes Its Runway Debut

Gareth Cattermole/Getty

While most of Hollywood was in Oscar mode, Sienna Miller and her sister Savannah were making their runway debut at London Fashion week. The designing duo behind Twenty8Twelve debuted their Fall 09 collection to a packed house which included Fashion Week staple Kanye West and fellow British designer Matthew Williamson. The clothes seem a combination of the two sisters; leather jackets, skin-tight dresses with a boho flair for Sienna mixed with crystal-embellished cashmere, fine-tailoring and florals for Savannah. “But put them together, and it says London cool,” Sienna tells the The Telegraph backstage before the show. “These clothes are funky, and there’s something for anyone.” Or, as Savannah tells Style.com the collection is “Pirates of the road meets Grace Jones.” But even with the success of the two-year old line, don’t expect Sienna to give up her day-job any time soon. “I’m not giving up acting, I love acting,” says Sienna. “But I also love working with my sister. We’ve always been two sisters playing dress-up, ever since we were kids and we’re still doing it.”
