Kate Hudson’s capsule collection for Ann Taylor just arrived — and we’ve already finalized our wish list.
The blonde beauty expanded her role at the company from merely being the face of the line to contributing her style sensibility to a limited number of pieces for the brand, all of which reflect her own simple, carefree style and easygoing personality.
“I love soft, sensual shapes and this collection really captures that,” Hudson tells PEOPLE of her designs. “It’s sexy, tasteful and easy to dress up or dress down.”

Jessica Chastain: It Was ‘a Little Scary’ to Wear Elizabeth Taylor’s Necklace
Joel Ryan/Invision/AP
Jessica Chastain was so nervous about wearing Elizabeth Taylor‘s sapphire-and-diamond necklace at the Cannes Film Festival’s Cleopatra screening, she didn’t even ask its value.
“I didn’t want to know how much it was worth,” Chastain told PEOPLE at a Bulgari-sponsored soirée, following the film’s 50th-anniversary screening. “It was so thrilling to wear it, but I was overwhelmed too. It was a little scary. I was the first person to wear it since Elizabeth. I felt as if I was able to spend the day with her today by wearing the necklace.”
That sense of familiarity likely extends from Chastain’s choice of reading material. She admitted to picking up Furious Love, a book about Taylor and Richard Burton’s tempestuous love affair, which began on the Cleopatra set and was marked by Burton’s many opulent Bulgari purchases for Taylor.
“I was captivated … [by] what an incredible love story they had,” Chastain said. “And I loved Richard’s famous quote about how ‘Bulgari’ was the only word Liz knew in Italian. I was just touched by everything about their love.”

Jessica Chastain Wears Elizabeth Taylor’s Necklace to Cannes ‘Cleopatra’ Premiere

The infamous film Cleopatra was a smashing success for Elizabeth Taylor in at least two ways: It introduced her to two of the loves of her life, Richard Burton and Bulgari jewelry. Burton commemorated the start of his scandalous on-set affair with Taylor by purchasing her a massive emerald ring from the jeweler, which he followed up with a matching necklace and brooch for their engagement a few months later.
So it seems only fitting that Taylor’s Burton-selected Bulgari jewelry would return to the red carpet for a 50th anniversary Cleopatra viewing in Cannes, worn by another great beauty of her time, Jessica Chastain.

Harry Winston Buys 101-Carat Diamond; Who Will Wear It First?
Courtesy Harry Winston
We were a little short on pocket change last week when a 101.73 carat flawless pear-shaped diamond went up for auction at Christie’s Geneva. The stone, which Christie’s was calling the most perfect diamond ever up for auction, was snapped up by jeweler Harry Winston and renamed the “Winston Legacy.”
For context, the Winston Legacy diamond is roughly the size of a small lime — completely eclipsing some of the most amazing diamonds we’ve seen throughout the years. And while the sight of this jaw-dropping stone has us reminiscing about some of our favorite Harry Winston memories, we also can’t help but wonder who will be the first to sport this newest bauble.
Harry Winston isn’t saying what’s next for the diamond, but we have a few ideas: The world’s sparkliest belt buckle for Bradley Cooper? A first anniversary ring from Brad Pitt to Angelina Jolie? Perhaps Miley Cyrus will pair it with a crop top?
While you’re pondering that question (and telling us who you’d love to see wear this giant diamond!) check out some of our favorite jaw-dropping diamonds from years past, worn by some of the most legendary beauties of their time.

Three Things We Must Discuss: Cannes Edition
INF; Rex USA; FilmMagic
Cannes just keeps getting better and better, but with all the dresses, jewels and fabulous shoes parading by, it’s possible to miss some of the details. Here, we call out three things you’ve gotta see before the next round of gowns this evening.
Carey Mulligan’s Majorly Expensive Earrings: It’s no surprise to see mega-watt jewels on the red carpet at the French film festival (Chopard is an official partner, after all), but even with all that bling, it’s still possible to stop us in our tracks. Mulligan did just that at the Great Gatsby premiere, accenting her pale pink Dior Haute Couture gown with red lips — and a pair of Tiffany & Co. diamond earrings from the Blue Book Collection worth $1.15 million. Add another $112,000 in diamonds in her bracelet and we think she’s got a jewelry collection even Daisy Buchanan would envy.
