What tops most girls to-do lists the minute they get engaged? Hitting the nail salon for the perfect mani to match their new bling, of course. Jenny McCarthy, who just announced her engagement to Donnie Wahlberg Wednesday, made sure her tips were freshly painted — though no nail art could distract us from that new mega-carat engagement ring sitting pretty on her left hand.

The View co-host shared her exciting news on air while showing off her sparkler to the other hosts. “It’s a yellow sapphire,” she said of the bauble, which looks to be 5-plus carats (if we had to guess) and is surrounded by a halo of diamonds. (Get an up-close look at the bauble — and her hot-pink Sally Hansen manicure — above.) Read More

Jessica Biel: If Justin Timberlake Wants to Bring Back His Earrings, I'm Cool With That

Apr/11/2014 at 12:36 PM ET

Jessica Biel knows a little something about jewelry — after all, she’s been wearing it since she was too young to remember.

“I got my ears pierced when I was three,” Biel, 32, told PEOPLE at the 2014 Tiffany & Co. Blue Book party in New York. “I don’t know why my mother did that at such an early age. It’s really not synonymous with her style to do something like that, but I’m glad she did.”

But despite her early start, The Truth About Emanuel actress, who wore a plunging black Oscar de la Renta dress and a Tiffany & Co. diamond necklace and earrings from the jeweler’s Blue Book collection, says it took her a long time to get into fancy jewelry.

Zooey Deschanel’s line for Tommy Hilfiger is here, and it’s just what we expected: girlie, classic and totally appropriate for her on-screen alter ego Jess Day. And — no surprise for the stylish New Girl star — adding fashion designer to her résumé has always been a dream.

“When I was in high school I made my own clothes and I grew up creating a lot of my own looks,” Deschanel shares. “I would think up patterns myself. Having the opportunity to work on this collection was incredibly fun.”

The line, aptly named “To Tommy from Zooey,” features 16 dresses (priced between $98 and $199 — get a preview below) as well as accessories. “We looked at all of the designs that I’ve been wearing over the past several years and analyzed them. Then we distilled everything down and mixed it with the Tommy DNA to transform it into our own collection of dresses. It’s a mix of mod and nautical, which I like to call ‘modical,’” she says. “There are a lot of great little hidden details, like pleats with unexpected patterns on the inside. There are structured and short pieces and very clean lines. Each piece is very mod and also very American-inspired.” Read More
