We Tried It: 3 Hairstyles from Kate's Royal Tour

Apr/17/2014 at 05:22 PM ET

What it is: Being a total fangirl and bringing pictures of your hair idol Duchess Catherine to the blowout bar so you can get her look (pegged to her current Royal Tour hairstyles of course)

Who Tried It: Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor

Why She Tried It: Because the only thing that excites me more than this gif of Prince George is Kate’s hair

How crazy is it on a scale from 1 to Ridiculous? If you’re getting one of her looks recreated at a blowout bar, it’s a zero. They’re super easy for any hairstylist to master. If you’re doing it on yourself, I’d say about a 3.5-7.5, all depending on your hair type, and how good you are with a curling iron and bobby pins.

Emma Stone Hair Debate: Super-Straight or Super-Curly? We Take Sides

Apr/17/2014 at 09:00 AM ET

Fact 1: Emma Stone has shiny, gorgeous hair. Fact 2: She’s been nailing it on the red carpet while touring the globe to promote The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Fact 3: PeopleStyleWatch.com editors really love discussing these two previous facts. And during one of those discussions, a great debate started to brew. Does Emma’s hair look better straight or curly? Below, we bring you two strong opinions.

Brittany Talarico, Associate Style Editor: I love Emma, but she looked like she was going to a Great Gatsby theme party with that tight pin curl thing happening at the Berlin premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man. And I’m personally over the whole ’20s Gatsby vibe. Sure it’s glamorous and can be fun in the right context, but when you have such shiny healthy hair like the actress, wearing it sleek and straight is a no-brainer. Seriously, look how amazing it looks in the left photo above. She’s like a walking Keratin add. I also think her straight strands enhance her color. So next time you’re debating between the two looks Emma, always go straight. (Unless you’re doing the whole old Hollywood loose curl thing like this magic moment. That I’m okay with.)

Alex Apatoff, Style News Editor: Brittany, did you have a big bowl of Nope this morning? Emma’s curls are super-gorgeous. The only thing I don’t like about them is that there’s no way I’ll ever be able to replicate this look myself. Every star in Hollywood does the sleek, straight blowout, but so few ever experiment with gorgeous, goddess-y looks like this one (and I give her hair pro Mara Roszak major snaps for being able to pull all these styles off so beautifully — just look at the photo below!). I love that Emma’s willing to play with texture, length and volume. Maybe I’m biased as a curly girl myself, but I’ll take shiny spirals over simple strands anyday.

Whose side are you on? Share your thoughts below. And don’t forget to take a look at Emma’s straight to curly hair spectrum!

Catherine Zeta-Jones's Blunt Bangs: Are You Loving Her Look?

Apr/16/2014 at 04:43 PM ET

We’ve been fooled by bangs before (clip-ins are so popular, as you know from Kim Kardashian and Mindy Kaling), but no need to be skeptical this time: Catherine Zeta-Jones‘s fringe is the real deal. The actress debuted her new hair look for the first time on the carpet Thursday, and we almost didn’t recognize the star.

That’s probably because Zeta-Jones didn’t go for a subtle side bang or some piecey wisps. She went for a heavy, blunt straight across style that covers her eyebrows (and almost her eyeballs). It also looks like she also trimmed few inches from her long dark brown strands. The actress kept the rest of her beauty look simple with a brick-red lip and soft smoky eye to go with her plunging black dress.

And the star’s hair isn’t the only buzz surrounding her right now. She was joined on the carpet (for opening night of The Library in NYC) by husband Michael Douglas, marking the first time the the couple has attended an event together since deciding to re-evaluate their marriage last June.

“It is so easy to just give up,” a longtime family friend tells PEOPLE. “But they wanted to put in the work. I’m really happy for them.”

We hope the new look celebrates a new chapter for the actress. Are you a fan of her fringe? Share your thoughts below.

She loves a good fashion risk, so it’s no surprise Zoe Kravitz isn’t afraid to go big in the hair department. The actress transformed her mane from dark brunette to bright blonde, giving us major ’90s flashbacks.

For pro celebrity hair change spotters, you might have noticed that Kravitz’s color was lighter at Coachella this weekend. The daughter of rocker Lenny Kravitz and actress Lisa Bonet (talk about great genes) took the stage to perform at the festival, but was wearing a hat for most of her time in the desert, so we weren’t sure exactly what was going on. Luckily, the star gave us a good look at her new do on the red carpet at a Jimmy Choo event in L.A. Tuesday.

Very simple.”

Apr/15/2014 at 03:34 PM ET

It’s hard for us to remember a time when Kelly Osbourne was not sporting her lavender locks (she’s had the color for four years now), and she feels the same way, saying she’s never felt more herself than with her brightly-hued do. She recently sat down with PEOPLE to discuss her most recent mane change and what it was like when she first debuted her purple hair.

“Basically my color has become me. The first time I dyed it and looked in the mirror, I saw myself and I felt like me,” she told PEOPLE while stopping by to promote Wheat Thins Popped. “I’ll never be a natural girl. I’ll never be normal or simple. The most insulting thing someone said to me was to call me ‘beige.’”
