Let me start by saying you usually look fabulous and know how to dress for your petite frame to create the perfect proportion.

Carrie Ann Inaba’s ‘DWTS’ Blog: The 300th Episode Deserves a Special Dress

Carrie Ann Inaba Dancing With the StarsAdam Taylor/ABC

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba joins us again to blog about her style (and all the backstage scoop) on the show’s 16th season. This week, she discusses the search to find a look that’s as special as the show’s major milestone.

300 episodes! Wow! It’s an incredible feeling to celebrate our 300th episode. To be a part of a show that has had 300 episodes completed; well, it’s an honor, to say the least. I wanted to point out that there are three people who have been on every single episode from Day 1. Those three people are myself, Tom Bergeron, and Bruno Tonioli.

It’s been a wonderful ride of 300 nights of dancing. With wonderful and extraordinary choreography, beautiful costumes and incredible production value, I’m really proud of our team. It takes so many people to make a show happen.

In honor of the 300th celebration I wanted to make sure what I was wearing tonight made me feel like I was going to the hottest party in town. A little rock star, a little sexy, a little sophisticated.

Confessions of a Celeb Stylist: Leslie Fremar Shares the Single Best Accessory to Have In Your Arsenal

Meet Leslie Fremar. She’s Hollywood’s top stylist (literally — The Hollywood Reporter just said so!) with clients from Julianne Moore to Reese Witherspoon. And now she’s bringing her considerable talents to our site to share behind-the-scenes scoop, styling tips and much more. For her latest, she explains how to translate Moore’s unbelievable, completely custom Met Gala look into an experience you can actually incorporate into your own wardrobe — no stylist needed.

After reading last week’s post, with Balenciaga staffers flying in from Paris and custom emerald cuffs being created just for one night, you’re probably thinking, “How could this possibly relate to my life or me getting ready for an event?”

The process is one that has been done for many years and it works. You start with an idea, or something that you love, an inspiration — and then you go look for something that’s not the exact same, but has the same feeling. For example: say you saw something extremely romantic and you can relate to that image and it reflects your personality and your style. Keep that image in mind when you’re shopping.

Also, when picking a dress be sure to pick something that fits your body type. If you have broad shoulders and have smaller hips I would suggest wearing something really fitted. If you have larger hips and are smaller on top, maybe find something that has a more defined waist, with a skirt that has more volume. These are little tricks that work to create illusions. I love magic!

Tabatha’s Takeover: This Dress Makes Katy Perry Look Like ‘a Bat-Winged Box In Boots’

Today, she discusses Katy Perry, whose outfit didn’t have whipped cream boobs or a Smurf’s face, but still managed to surprise us.

Seriously Katy, what in the hell are you wearing? From the print of the dress to the crazy collar and air conditioned sleeves, this frock is a hot silk mess.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not trying to be a bully, I’m just saying what everyone else is thinking. Let me put it this way: You have this killer, dynamic body that should be celebrated with clothing that accentuates your figure. This “thing” you have on is just making you look like a colorful bat-winged box in boots.

My recommendation: You should check out what the chick behind you is wearing. Actually, follow her into the washroom and convince her to swap outfits. Pay her off if you have to. It would be worth every penny.

But don’t get rid of your boots. Those ripped jeans and that vintage Janet Jackson shirt would look brilliant with your rock star leather Jimmy Choo boots, jet black hair and cool girl black sunglasses.

Carrie Ann Inaba’s ‘DWTS’ Blog: My Dress Was So Hot, It Made Me Wish I’d Lined Up a Date!

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba joins us again to blog about her style (and all the backstage scoop) on the show’s 16th season. This week, she talks about the sexy dress that made her wish she had a date night planned — and sending her jewels flying into the audience.

What an incredible night in the ballroom. The number Derek choreographed based on the late Fred Astaire’s incredible genius was so impressive. It’s exciting to see such innovative choreography, even though the idea was borrowed. It’s a reinvention and that is what happens with art.

What was impressive is that it didn’t feel like a second rate version of a classic. Instead, it felt like a wonderful unique piece of art that will stand the test of time. I haven’t been that impressed since his Paso Doble the night before!

That was just a little reminder to my judging friend Len Goodman … who I still say robbed them of a perfect 30. But I still love him and respect him. We are all there for different reasons, and a little argument here and there never hurt anyone.

Confessions of a Celeb Stylist: Leslie Fremar Takes Us Behind the Scenes of Julianne Moore’s Met Gala Fitting

Please welcome the newest addition to our PEOPLE StyleWatch blog lineup, Leslie Fremar. She’s Hollywood’s top stylist (literally — The Hollywood Reporter just said so!) with clients from Julianne Moore to Reese Witherspoon. And now she’s bringing her considerable talents to our site to share behind-the-scenes scoop, styling tips and much more. For her inaugural blog post, she gives us all the backstage dish on Moore’s stunning emerald Met Gala look — and what it’s like to have every piece of your outfit made entirely custom for you.

A question I get asked all the time is “How do you get your clients ready for a major event?” I think the reason that people are so interested in this is because it feels very out of reach for most. Many women in their everyday life don’t have the need to dress that way, unless they are going to their own wedding. To this day I still find the process of getting ready for a major red carpet event extremely fascinating. Even though I do this for a living, I truly believe it can be applied to every woman getting ready for a special occasion.

The Met Gala was last night and it’s pretty much a “Who’s Who” of Hollywood, music and fashion all in one room. Everyone is trying to do something memorable, interesting, and fashionable. It’s fascinating how it all comes together and how many people are really involved in creating one look; you have the designers, the artist, the stylist, the jeweler, the hair and make-up people, manicurist, tailor, assistants.

Just to walk you through what it takes to get ready for The Met Gala: Last night I dressed Julianne Moore in Balenciaga. We started the process when Julianne accepted Alexander Wang‘s invitation to attend as his date to the event. Once the pairing between actor and designer is made, you can go ahead and start creating the look for the evening.

After going through images from the Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2013 show, Julianne and I had relayed our favorite looks from the season. Balenciaga then presented us with sketches, transforming some of the looks from the show into evening gowns. We ended up choosing a version of a cocktail dress, which he showed in black. They suggested making it long and in green. We loved it, we approved the sketch and they started making the dress.

Tabatha’s Takeover: Helen Mirren Is Living Elegance, End of Story!

We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her newest show, Tabatha Takes Over, which is in its fifth season! And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch each week to dish on some of the bestand worst – celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!

Today, she discusses Dame Helen Mirren, who wore a head-turning Lindka Cierach navy lace dress at the 2013 Laurence Olivier Awards in London last week.

Helen is living elegance, full stop, end of story! I want to grow up and be her — elegant, sophisticated, poised, talented, and so age appropriately fabulous. It’s as if the red carpet was laid down to showcase her perfect navy dress and porcelain skin. She knows what looks good on her and this dress delivers.

I’m a sucker for expertly-executed detail and surprise elements in clothing. The detail in this gown is as gripping as a Hitchcock thriller. The two tones of navy created from the different textured fabrics are intriguing. I love the subtle play of light on the sequins and the lace detail through the top and the length of the sleeves. The asymmetrical slip of flowing fabric gives this a soft, modern feel. Where many would stop Helen keeps going.

Her perfectly coiffed natural hair and porcelain skin are stunning. She is timeless. Nothing Psycho here. Love this look. Love Helen.
