Sites Every Clothes Lover (and Money Saver) Should Know About

Jan/19/2014 at 08:44 PM ET

If your New Year’s resolution was to get organized, but you lost steam right after cleaning out your Gmail inbox, we’re here help. At least , when it comes to keeping your closet in order. Listen in as two People.com staffers chat with members of the Joyus.com team about how they deal with a major lack of closet space, the best apps for tracking your wardrobe and which sites to use to resell clothes you don’t wear (so you can make room for new stuff, obviously!).

Have you tried any of those sites? What was your experience with them? And do you have any closet organizational tips?

What Can You Get for $70? Oh, Just This Chic, Cozy Winter Jacket

Jan/13/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

No, that’s not a typo. The jacket in the video below (which comes in cream, black and gray) really does cost 70 bucks with our exclusive discount code (enter STYLE15 at checkout). Check it out and scroll down to read all the reasons we love it.

So, here’s why this Olivaceous topper earned a spot in our closets:

1. It’s actually really warm. We’re used to wallet-friendly jackets being — how do we put this? — totally crappy and inefficient when it comes to protecting us from the elements. We’ve been wearing this one during this particularly bad N.Y.C. winter and we’ve got no complaints.

2. Stains somehow don’t show up on this jacket. Not even on the cream-colored one. Thank the textured bouclé material for that.

3. Two words: universally flattering.

4. You can wear it unzipped and with the collar folded down over a dress at work if you’re chilly and it doesn’t look like you’re all bundled up. But rather, the jacket almost passes for a chunky blazer.

5. Oh, did we mention? The jacket costs 70 bucks. Get one here before it sells out.

Meet the Moto-Sweatshirt (It's a Real Thing and Every Woman Should Own One)

Dec/30/2013 at 06:00 AM ET

Two trends have been everywhere this year: zip-up leather toppers (see: here, here and here) and fancy sweatshirts (see: here, here and every staffer at People StyleWatch on a Friday). Well, those two of-the-moment tops have combined forces to create the moto-sweatshirt — and we might never take it off.

As always, if you’re a first-time Joyus shopper and you enter STYLE15 at checkout, you can get this Blank NYC jacket for 83 bucks.

The story in the video (about this editor spotting a woman on the subway platform wearing this zip-up, running over to her and asking where she got it) is totally true. It was love at first sight — and our obsession hasn’t waned since.

We’re wearing ours with black pencil skirts and tucked-in tees, as well as on the weekends with jeans. And the design fitted enough that you can wear it under a faux fur vest or a warm winter jacket.

If you were lucky enough to be gifted cash over the holidays, we’d highly recommend unloading some of it on this Blank NYC jacket-meets-sweatshirt. You’ll wear it all winter and through this spring. Then when you break out the top again next fall and realize it’s a classic enough style that it’ll never go out of fashion, you’ll be so glad you ordered one.

We told you Hollywood’s loving leather, and this week’s Best Dressed stars are proof. Our own Celeb Style Council member Jamie Chung landed at the top of the Most Loved Looks list in the perfect pair of leather pants, and Lea Michele was hot on her heels, sporting the sexy material from head to toe.

Jamie’s ensemble, which earned an 84 percent approval rating from PEOPLE readers, is proof that you can look fashionable even in cold weather (but we already filled you in on that!). She accessorized her skinnies with a basic cream sweater and added her usual stylish touch via a statement necklace, forest-green heels and pops of red on her lips and nails. She sported the outfit at Blake Shelton’s surprise holiday performance in N.Y.C., but we’re considering wearing something similar the next time we have to attend a party and don’t feel like braving the cold in our standard LBD.
