Drew Barrymore Dishes on Her ‘Fancy’ Engagement Ring

Her recent engagement is already old news, but Drew Barrymore is still aglow, especially when talking about fiancé Will Kopelman.

“I didn’t want to go to this little party, and my friend dragged me there and I met him,” the Big Miracle star tells Anderson Cooper on Friday’s Anderson. Though their initial meeting was several years ago, it wasn’t until 2011 that “things got serious.”

Now, after what Barrymore calls a romantic proposal, the two are in the midst of wedding planning — and all the fun that comes with it. “The thing that I think we’re the most excited about is … this will be such a nice year to do wonderful things together,” she says. “We like to spend time with our friends anyway, so on the auspices of this kind of a celebration, even more heightened and wonderful. What a great adventure.”

When Chrissy Teigen‘s longtime beau John Legend popped the question over the holidays, the Sports Illustrated model wasn’t only surprised by the proposal, but by the ring, as well.

“It’s none of my doing at all,” she tells InStyle.com of the stunning sparkler. “All I know is that it’s a cushion cut, and I had never even heard of that before.”

The couple announced their engagement on Dec. 27 — Legend proposed while they were vacationing in the Maldives — and already, Teigen has been perusing magazines for dress ideas, even though she hasn’t yet set a date.

“I’m obsessed with dresses and it’s so hard to stop,” she shares. So any standouts yet? “I really love something about Monique Lhuillier. I think she’s so romantic and light and beautiful. I want to look like myself coming down the aisle, and I feel like Monique embodies what I want.”

Valentino’s New Collection: Fit for a Wedding?

Anne Hathaway Wedding Dress

The dresses Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli sent down the runway in Paris Wednesday were fit for a high-fashion bride: feminine florals ruled, there were lacey accents galore and more than half of the ladylike frocks were white. With a little finessing, a veil and a bouquet, we could easily see some of the haute couture gowns walking down an aisle.

Though she wasn’t there, we do wonder: was Anne Hathaway paying attention? The bride-to-be is quite close to Valentino, who, while retired, still has influence in the fashion world, and even spoke out about her potential wedding gown recently. “I would do my best creation for her,” he told PEOPLE in December. “She’s a lovely person. She wears the clothes very, very well. So I would do something special … but I cannot say exactly which type of dress.”

The final look of the show, seen at left, was particularly bridal, with a flowing skirt, airy sleeves and floral detail. “It should be interesting,” Hathaway’s stylist Rachel Zoe told PEOPLE of helping her client find a dress. “She’s so young and such a romantic. It will be a fashion ‘moment’ whatever she decides.”

Hillary Scott’s Custom Wedding Gown: All the Details!

When Hillary Scott started planning the details of her wedding to now-husband Chris Tyrrell, she immediately turned to one of the best names in the bridal gown business: Vera Wang. The Lady Antebellum singer approached the designer about a custom dress, and what resulted was a one-of-a-kind creation that left the bride aglow.

“Hillary was joyous, over the moon,” Wang tells PEOPLE. “And [she was] actually very enchanted with the thought of a hand-pieced, hand-engineered lace mermaid wedding gown.” In fact, the strapless dress featured all-over lace underlay, a layered tulle skirt with horsehair banding and a hand-cut corded lace applique with hand-applied crystal-and-pearl beading.

Drew Barrymore’s Engagement Ring: All the Details!

Considering Drew Barrymore‘s new fiancé Will Kopelman is an art consultant, it’s no surprise that the actress’ brand-new engagement ring is truly, well, a work of art.

The ring features a colorless radiant-cut diamond — which weighs in at just under 4 carats — situated on a diamond-covered band. The stunning sparkler was designed by Graff Diamonds, though “[Kopelman] picked it out,” a source tells PEOPLE.

Kopelman and Barrymore have been linked romantically since February of last year. The couple got engaged in Sun Valley, Idaho, while vacationing over the holidays.

This will be the third walk down the aisle for Barrymore, who was married to Tom Green in 2001 and to Jeremy Thomas briefly in 1994. Tell us: What do you think of Barrymore’s ring?

Carolina Herrera: Kristen Stewart Was ‘Moved’ by the ‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Dress

We knew the gown Carolina Herrera created specifically for the Breaking Dawn wedding took six months to design and that it left Robert Pattinson floored, but in the new issue of Town & Country Weddings, the designer reveals Kristen Stewart‘s very personal reaction.

“We did three fittings. When she initially put on the dress and looked over her shoulder into the mirror, she was very moved,” Herrera tells the mag, on stands Wednesday. “In that moment she was not an actress or a character in a film but instead a bride, and a happy one at that.”

The dress seen in the sketch (left) is what the designer calls a “union between Stephenie [Meyer's] description in the book and the Herrera bridal aesthetic” — something she has been perfecting for 25 years.

“I took into consideration the character of Bella and Kristen’s portrayal of her, and what this fantasy character would choose to wear for the most important day of her life,” she explains of the masterpiece, which retails for $35,000. “It’s made of a crepe satin with two inserts on the front and beautiful silk thread topstitching. The neckline is a slight V, just enough to see the collarbones. The back is oval-shaped, with a Chantilly lace border veiled in tulle. It’s very romantic, and when all the details come together, it creates a vision specific to Bella’s style and personality.”
