In our weekly search of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we saw a whole lotta spots, a wide range of fashion-forward clutches and denim cutoffs that were a bit too tattered for a formal affair.

Up: Spots: If Sarah Jessica Parker and Duchess Catherine are wearing spotted prints, it’s only a matter of time until the rest of Hollywood catches on. SJP stepped out in N.Y.C. wearing a black-and-white polka dot number, and Kate chose a spotted Hobbs coat dress for an event in London. Rashida Jones also had a spot-on moment in this black-and-white printed Proenza Schouler mini.

In our weekly search of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we saw lots of white-on-white looks, some seriously awesome arm candy and the return of the pajama top (which really needs to be put to bed).

Up: All-white outfits. Celebs are totally exercising their right to wear white now that the warm weather is finally here. Kerry Washington perfectly demonstrates how to execute the monochromatic look in this Giambattista Valli midi, Nancy Gonzalez clutch and Christian Louboutin pointy-toe pumps. On the same style page, Angelina Jolie, Sienna Miller, Emma Roberts and Jamie Chung also ditched dark hues on the carpet.

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we saw lots of great graphic prints, some seriously fun shoes and a surprising lack of bold earrings.

Up: Funky Heels. Maybe the warm weather has stars feeling bold, because we saw fewer nude pumps this week and lots more risky shoes. And we think the risk paid off in these fun styles seen on Elizabeth Banks (in Coach wedges, above), Jada Pinkett Smith and Heidi Klum. After all, if you can’t have fun with your footwear, where can you?

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we spotted some serious décolletage, bright colored shoes — and fashion suicide by sequins.

Up: Daring Necklines. Stars are definitely feeling sassy this week! How do we know? All the plunging necklines that have been hitting the red carpet. No one seems to be worried about veering dangerously close to a nip slip, and we’re impressed. Like Heather Graham (can you believe she is 43!) who stuns in this emerald Herve L Leroux gown, which she pairs with a major statement necklace. Also getting the low-cut memo: Lea Michele in her lingerie-inspired Roberto Cavalli, Sofia Vergara and Jamie Chung!

Red Carpet Trend Report: The Scoop on Jumpsuits, Double-Strap Sandals and Getting a Little Too Ab-Happy

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we spotted chic onesies all over the place, a ton of strap-happy celebs in sandals — and a little too much ab action.

Up: Jumpsuits. Apparently normal pantsuits are just way too boring, because this trend is taking over Hollywood. Case in point: Jennifer Lopez nailing it in this black all-in-one getup with gold chain detailing around the collar. (If you want to try it, this one is on sale for $49 at Kohl’s!) The look manages to be classy but still packs an edgy punch which makes for the perfect trend formula. Plus, just this week Miley Cyrus, Jennifer Morrison and Maria Menounos proved onesies aren’t going anywhere. Our only question: What happens when you have to use the bathroom?

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we saw bracelets get swapped out for plain ol’ wristwatches, an abundance of lovely, slicked-back strands — and one instance of confused-weather footwear that we think can be retired right about now.

Up: Elegant ponytails. Perhaps blame it on the transitional weather, but plenty of stars this week opted to smooth their hair back into elegant, classic ponytails and not risk the frizz factor. Zoë Saldana had one of our favorites, but Julianne Hough, Olivia Munn, Miranda Kerr and Heidi Klum have all worn their hair tightly pulled back into a pretty, simple style.

In our weekly round-up of what we’re seeing sizzle (and fizzle) on the red carpet, we saw a lot of white pumps and red nails — and to complete our 1980s flashback, we saw one very elaborate updo straight out of ’87 that made us glad we’re in 2013.

Up: Red nails. Neutral nails? Not this week. We saw bright red talons on everyone from Zoë Saldana to Katy Perry to Florence Welch (not to mention Julianne Hough, above). We tend to reach for the bright pinks and light purples during the spring, but love the way a racy bright red hue revs up a more formal look.
