EXCLUSIVE: Crack Jay-Z’s DaGucci Code

EXCLUSIVE: Crack Jay-Z's DaGucci CodeCourtesy Gucci; Inset:Johnny Nunez/WireImage

Though his lyrics may often confound, when it comes to Jay-Z’s love of high fashion, there is little confusion. And one of his most beloved brands, Gucci (sample lyric: “Yellow wrist watch, Gucci flip flops, six top model chicks, who is this hot?”), is returning the sentiment by playing a key part in Bing’s elaborate introduction to Jay-Z’s new book, Decoded. Pages of the tome, which reveal hidden meanings behind the rapper’s lyrics, are being exposed at landmark locations all over the world. And today, Gucci’s 5th Avenue location in N.Y.C. will unveil a page from the book on the inside of a one-of-a-kind leather bomber designed by Gucci’s Creative Director, Frida Giannini. Fans who locate the jacket at the N.Y.C. Gucci flagship will be given a specialized code to upload an image from Decoded, which will automatically enter them into a drawing to win an autographed copy and other prizes. For clues to where the Decoded pages will be displayed next, visit Jay-Z’s Facebook, Twitter page, Jay-Z.com and Bing.Justine Harman

The Scoop on Kate Winslet’s Birthday Gift from Her New Boyfriend

Ramey

Ever wondered what a successful male model buys his famous Hollywood actress girlfriend for her birthday? Well, if Louis Dowler is anything to go by, it’s luxe fashion all the way. For his girlfriend Kate Winslet‘s 35th birthday last month, he paid the Belstaff store in London a visit and came away with the perfect gift—one of their classic leather jackets. Store manager of the Mayfair boutique, Fabio de Matteis tells PEOPLE: “He wanted a special present for Kate and took his time looking at the whole collection.” After browsing the British brand’s iconic selection of leather jackets, shoes and accessories, he opted for the Triumph jacket, a fitted, belted style with stud detailing. And Dowler wasn’t shy when it came to gushing about the birthday girl. “He said how much Kate loved her motorcycle but she only had masculine things to wear on it, so he wanted to treat her to something more feminine.” Obviously, the jacket, which retails for more than $1,000, was a hit as Winslet has already been spotted working a new biker-chic look, accessorized with a smile and a certain model on her arm. A triumph indeed. –Monique Jessen

FIRST LOOK: Christina Hendricks Lends Her ‘Mad Men’ Appeal to London Fog

Courtesy London Fog

Christina Hendricks’ Mad Men character, Joan Harris, brings sass and seduction to the AMC hit show, and now the sultry red-head is lending her sex appeal to London Fog. Following in the stylish footsteps of Gisele Bundchen and Eva Longoria Parker, Christina will star in the label’s fall 2010 ad campaign. “London Fog is a classic brand, which I love. It also ties into Mad Men, we used London Fog in the show and this was a nice way to tie everything together,” the Emmy-nominated actress says of the outerwear label. “The trench is such an iconic shape for men and women. It works for anyone – it worked in the 1960s and it works now.” And it was Christina’s own timeless glamour and sophistication that landed her the role, according to the label. “Christina has a modern appeal but also harks back to a bygone era,” adds the brand’s chief marketing officer, Dari Marder. Shot by Nino Muñoz, the elegant black-and-white ads feature Hendricks posing seductively in London Fog coats and accessories, and are set to debut in October fashion and lifestyle magazines as well as outdoor and online. Get Kate Hudson’s Cute Coats–For Less!

Flynet; XPosure; INF

To ward off chilly London temps, Kate Hudson, who is in the U.K. to promote her new movie Nine, came prepared with an arsenal of chic, highly covetable outerwear. First, Kate turned up in a sleek black cashmere Jasmine Di Milo number for a shopping trip, only to amp things up for evening in a studded Temperley London jacket worn over an ornate (and color coordinated) black and gold Topshop party dress. Keeping up her cozy-but-glamorous vibe, Kate stepped out the following day for a radio interview in a girly, ruffle hemmed wrap coat, again by Jasmine Di Milo, on top of a pink leopard print shift by Simone. We love all her looks, but can’t exactly afford the same big ticket items as Kate…so we tracked down similar items for far less. Click here to shop for coats like Kate’s.

The iconic ’80s Members Only jacket is back, along with a Hollywood following that includes Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Jennifer Hudson. Cameron Diaz owns the classic bomber, $995, in glitzy gold, while Mary-Kate Olsen and Mischa Barton went for timeless black. And jackets aren’t the only thing on offer anymore. The collection has been expanded to include dresses, vests, and trenches. Wishing for a price tag that’s equally retro?
