The Royal Tour may be winding down, but Duchess Catherine still has a few new ensembles left in her suitcase. On Thursday, Kate proved she had a green thumb and a penchant for wearing the hue — one of Australia’s national colors — at a tree planting in the capital city of Canberra. Read More

Whitney Port Picks Her Fave Wedding Dresses, From the See-Through Gown to a White Eyelet Bikini?!

Apr/22/2014 at 11:30 AM ET

We bet you already have a few weddings marked down in your calendar this year, and even if you don’t, you can still get excited about all the celebrity weddings on the horizon. Bride-to-be Whitney Port has been busily planning her wedding and now she’s sharing her top dress picks from this year’s Bridal Fashion week. So, of course we had to round up some of her most head-turning — and skin-baring — selections.

“The idea of a beach wedding sounds so beautiful to me, so I loved this one,” the star tells Brides magazine of the two-piece Oscar de la Renta design (first above) featuring a white eyelet bikini and coordinating skirt. “I like that it’s very simple, but still delicate, and not the traditional wedding dress.”

Next up, a sleek Vera Wang gown, which is in line with her own wedding dress vision. “I’ve been toying with the idea of wearing a classic slip dress and this look is just simple and comfortable. You don’t have to worry about anything or the fuss of a big ball gown.” (This would be our pick for the star as well, who told PEOPLE, “I’ve always envisioned that Cindy Crawford beach slip kind of dress.”)

Port, who got engaged to fiancé Tim Rosenman last November, has also considered flashing some undergarments for her trek down the aisle (a look we’re curious if Kim Kardashian will go for.) “Another idea I considered was trying the see-through trend, where you can see the bra and panties underneath. I didn’t know if that was okay for a wedding, but this dress shows you can make the look tasteful,” Port tells the mag of the Houghton design above (We had to pixelate the model’s, er, naughty bits). “Plus, it features a lot of sequins and beading — I’m a sucker for anything metallic or sequined!”

Lastly, Port’s most traditional gown choice comes from designer Naeem Khan’s 2015 collection. “I’ve also been toying with the idea of wearing a veil, and this one makes me feel like I want one. It’s such a beautiful, intricate accessory, especially if you have a very simple dress.”

What do you think of Port’s picks? Are you a fan of the skin-baring wedding dress trends? Share your thoughts below!

Kate‘s fashionable tour accelerated in Australia with a three-outfit day on Sunday — including two repeats of favorite dresses from past years.

At her trip to the Sydney zoo (where Prince George got to preside over the unveiling of a bilby exhibit named for him), the Duchess of Cambridge wore a boatneck pastel yellow eyelet dress by independent designer (whom the palace hasn’t named). She last wore the dress (with the same Stuart Weitzman wedges) during the royal tour to southeast Asia in 2012.

Can we have a heart-to-heart? It’s about this week’s Most Loved Looks competition. Don’t get us wrong, we wouldn’t mind stealing Katie Holmes’s Balenciaga LBD with white trim (worn to the Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Ball in N.Y.C.) — we just think we, as a StyleWatch democracy, can do better when it comes to crowning a winner. Read More

Kate Gets Wrapped Up in the Perfect Print Diane von Furstenberg Dress (Which Already Sold Out, of Course)

Earlier this year, Diane von Furstenberg celebrated the 40th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress. Now the designer has cause to celebrate again. On Thursday, Duchess Catherine wore the DVF “Patrice” dress when she and Prince William traveled to Australia’s Blue Mountains to visit with residents of an area affected by devastating brushfires last fall.

Unfortunately for those who already have out their credit cards, the Ikat-print cotton dress, which retails for $325, sold out less than 10 minutes after Kate’s appearance, which is not surprising. Read More
