Elle Macpherson's Favorite Red Carpet Moment Involves a Couture Gown and ... Flip Flops?

Apr/10/2014 at 03:53 PM ET

We were lucky enough to spend our Thursday morning with the stunning Elle Macpherson — somehow her hair is more amazing in person — to celebrate the launch of her Body Collection at JCPenney. And in honor of #TBT, we had to put our serious journalist hats on and ask Macpherson one very pressing question: What’s your favorite red carpet moment of all time? Her answer led us to this truly killer photo below (Elle, you should get this on Insta stat.)

“My favorite red carpet moment is the acid-green, strapless luminescent dress with flip flops that I wore to a Met Gala,” Macpherson told PEOPLE of the whiplash-inducing Calvin Klein Collection gown she wore to the 2005 ball. “And the tan. It was great.” Read More

Zooey Deschanel On Her 'Modical' Tommy Hilfiger Collection: We Distilled My Style Down and Mixed It With Tommy's

Zooey Deschanel’s line for Tommy Hilfiger is here, and it’s just what we expected: girlie, classic and totally appropriate for her on-screen alter ego Jess Day. And — no surprise for the stylish New Girl star — adding fashion designer to her résumé has always been a dream.

“When I was in high school I made my own clothes and I grew up creating a lot of my own looks,” Deschanel shares. “I would think up patterns myself. Having the opportunity to work on this collection was incredibly fun.”

The line, aptly named “To Tommy from Zooey,” features 16 dresses (priced between $98 and $199 — get a preview below) as well as accessories. “We looked at all of the designs that I’ve been wearing over the past several years and analyzed them. Then we distilled everything down and mixed it with the Tommy DNA to transform it into our own collection of dresses. It’s a mix of mod and nautical, which I like to call ‘modical,’” she says. “There are a lot of great little hidden details, like pleats with unexpected patterns on the inside. There are structured and short pieces and very clean lines. Each piece is very mod and also very American-inspired.” Read More

Want to nab an Adam Levine look-alike? Then you might want to dress the part of a gal Adam Levine would want to date. The Maroon 5 frontman just launched his first women’s collection at Kmart, and he has some sound style advice for the female population.

“Don’t overthink things,” Levine shares. “I always go back to the idea that style should be effortless. I think that’s the most important tip.”

The Voice judge’s new collection — which ranges in price from $12.99 to $29.99 — includes some breezy sundresses, cutoffs and (of course) crop tops, along with a line of accessories. (We have a feeling his fiancée, boho beauty and supermodel Behati Prinsloo, was the muse behind his collection.)

“The best thing about designing a women’s collection is that I was able to create pieces that I would like to see a woman wear,” Levine says in a statement. “It’s been a really cool process working … to replicate that simple yet sophisticated style for a woman.” Read More

Kate Moss took four years off from her Topshop collection, so it stands to reason that if she was going to come back, she was going to come back in a big way. And she did just that, launching a complete collection for the line that blends her own personal style with a vintage sensibility, with dozens of pieces ranging from the everyday (simple scarves) to the once-in-a-lifetime (an elaborately beaded gown).

Tallulah Willis, 20 (center), had some very high-profile support for her new fashion venture — Emma Roberts, Zoey Deutch and her sisters Rumer, 25 (left), and Scout, 22, hit the Elodie K. boutique in West Hollywood to celebrate the launch of Tallulah’s new fashion blog, The Clothing Coven. Dad Bruce and his due-any-minute wife Emma also showed up to fête Willis’s new blog.

“I have a built-in stylist at home,” Emma tells PEOPLE of her stepdaughter. “‘Lulah comes to my closet and [cleans] it out in five minutes: ‘You need this; you don’t need that; put that with this.’ I always ask her opinion about most of my outfits.”

One notably absent guest: mom Demi, who’s been laying low since ex Ashton Kutcher announced his engagement to pregnant girlfriend Mila Kunis. “She couldn’t make it, I guess,” Scout said. (According to Rumer, their mother was having a quiet night at home.) Tallulah still credited her mother’s iconic style for influencing her own passion for fashion.

Jamie-Lynn Sigler has been beyond busy since her series The Sopranos ended. First, she started her CJ Free jewelry line in 2008. Then she quickly followed that milestone with an engagement to baseball player beau Cutter Dykstra and a new baby boy, son Beau Kyle, whom she and Dykstra welcomed last summer.

And now that she’s gotten being mom down to a science, she and her CJ Free design partner, her close friend Holly Freeman, are doubling down on their jewelry efforts — including introducing a new line of fine jewelry. But it all started almost by mistake; at first, Sigler and Freeman weren’t even planning on entering the jewelry industry at all.
