Our New Favorite Way to Stay Warm in Style

As February plods along, it can seem like there’s a limit on inventive ways to wear tights, denim and wool — and facing our closets is getting grim. Luckily, Kim Kardashian, Anne Hathaway and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley stepped out in three very different menswear looks to remind us that there are plenty more ways to look cute (and stay warm) this winter.

First, Kardashian skips maternity leggings and oversized sweaters in favor of a sleek, chic and sophisticated monochromatic suit look. The bow-tied blouse and flared pants gave her a retro vibe, but single-sole pumps and a wavy blowout were totally 2013.

Next, Hathaway gave the look a hipster twist by choosing a shrunken Band of Outsiders suit worn over a buttoned-up shirt by the line. Along with her cat-eye frames and shimmering Vince Camuto Oxfords, the star achieved a glam ’60s vibe while still looking super-comfortable.

Finally, Huntington-Whitely proved definitively that suits can be smokin’ in her scarlet Burberry ensemble, worn with a slouchy black tank and delicate chain necklace. And though those barely-there sandals defeat the “warmth” factor we’re looking for, the heat she’s generating with that hair more than makes up for a few chilly moments outdoors.

Stars Deliver a Healthy Dose of Vitamin C (for Chic!)

Feb/01/2013 at 05:15 PM ET

Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence Dresses
Don’t get us wrong: we appreciate a good neutral palette. But when 80% of this week’s “Most Loved Looks” are basic black-and-white, we start to doze off … and seeing a healthy dose of bold, bright winter citrus is as refreshing as a glass of lemonade in the summer.

So we’d like to extend extra credit to (from left) Beyoncé, Jennifer Lawrence and Amanda Seyfried for all opting to wear gorgeously juicy shades of orange in the last few days; they especially popped during a week when everyone played it safe.

Our favorite part is that all three stars showed that the tricky hue can look good against any skin tone, and can be appropriate everywhere from the office to a big night out. Beyoncé went sexy in a tomato Antonio Berardi sheath; Jennifer’s marigold Emilio Pucci was pretty and professional; and Amanda’s carrot-colored Roland Mouret number was dressy and glam. And all three women picked Jimmy Choo heels — maybe it’s the official shoe of fashion risk-takers?

Midday Outfit Inspiration: Kerry Washington’s Sweet and Saucy Look

Our responsibility as PEOPLE StyleWatch editors is to show you the cutest outfits we see every day, and we take that very seriously. So we consider it practically a sacred duty to discuss Kerry Washington’s adorable look, spotted Thursday on Good Morning America.

We don’t know if she was feeling extra stylish when she woke up (Jan. 31 is her 36th birthday, after all), but this was just one of three cute ensembles she sported within a few hours — and it was definitely our favorite.

Why does it work so well? Something about the mix of the girlie Wes Gordon jacquard tee with the sassy A.L.C. leather skirt is appealing, and the proportions are exactly right. We loved that her rich red lipstick and flirty bangs totally fit into the playful vibe of the outfit. And the stunning Christian Louboutin booties with an ombré Lucite heel add impact to an otherwise simple look.

Though we’d like to say this is outfit inspiration for tomorrow, we’re kind of tempted to run home and change right now. Tell us: Do you like Kerry’s two-tone look?

Bold hair accessories seem to be everywhere these days. From the runway to the red carpet, they’re a fun, fresh and easy way to add a playful twist to your look.

Recently, Rose Byrne tested out the trend by adding a black-and-white flower fascinator to her ensemble. She pinned the piece above her right ear and kept the rest of her hair simple, just flipping out the ends.

Are You Loving Florence Welch’s Blinged-Out Braid?

We’ve spotted several celebs sporting milkmaid braids on the red carpet recently, and we like them. They’re fresh, youthful and a playful alternative to the classic updo.

And since Florence + the Machine frontwoman Florence Welch is never one to shy away from a trendsetting style, we weren’t surprised to see her try the plaited ‘do a few weeks ago at the LACMA Art + Film Gala in Los Angeles.

However, it seems as though Welch wasn’t satisfied with just any milkmaid braid: she spiced hers up with an edgy gold headpiece.

Though the jewelry does dress up her look, it could also be seen as a bit distracting — so we want to know what you think of it!

Are You Loving Leona Lewis’s Mod Makeup?

Marc Jacobs and Dior were just two of the many design houses to show mod-inspired looks in their spring collections, so we’re not surprised that celebs are already starting to try that trend.

Case in point, singer Leona Lewis, who stepped out in London a few weeks ago experimenting with mod style in a slightly different way: through her high pony and cat-eye liner.

But is her look too much? We’re usually all for a bold cat-eye, though wonder if Lewis’s is a touch too elongated. And while her ponytail screams ’60s, the modern metal holder could be a hand-me-down from Judy Jetson’s closet — in our minds, it doesn’t sync well with the rest of the look. What do you think?

Are You Loving Elle Fanning’s Patterned Pantsuit?

Oct/09/2012 at 10:30 AM ET

Several celebs have been forgoing glamorous gowns in favor of sleek pantsuits on the red carpet lately, but none have dared to step out in one as, well, interesting as the version Elle Fanning wore during the Toronto Film Festival.

The 14-year-old chose a ’70s-inspired purple print Miu Miu suit, complete with equally retro shiny emerald-green platforms and a wine-colored button-up. Oh, and she also wore a pink-and-blue checked scarf and oversize brown belt.

It’s nice to see a young star have this much fun with fashion, but it’s hard to get behind her look. An all-over print is tricky to pull off without looking costume-y, especially if you choose a vintage-style silhouette and styling. But we want to know what you think.

Tell us: Are you loving Elle’s patterned pantsuit? Vote in our poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments; your feedback could appear in the December/January issue of PEOPLE StyleWatch.
