And now it’s time for you to weigh in on Miller’s bold accessorizing. Will you be swiping a page from her style handbook with some double cuff action this summer, or is the look too busy? Sienna Miller Debuts Neon-Streaked Hair

They’re not quite Ke$ha’s rainbow streaks, but there’s still a definite rebellious vibe to Sienna Miller’s new pink highlights, which she debuted at the British Fashion Awards Monday.

In fact, Miller’s whole looked seemed to be a modern take on ’90s grunge, from the slinky spaghetti strap Burberry slip dress she wore (of course!) to her stacked silver heels to her chunky metallic necklace, right on up to her newly dyed (though artfully faded) locks — worn with contrasting darker brows, of course.

The ’90s have been coming back in a big way for months (admit it, you’ve tied a shirt around your waist recently) so Miller’s whole look is totally on-trend. But the dyed look is definitely more modern than the Manic Panic we rocked 15 years ago. In fact, Miller could have gotten the look via a more modern invention — hair chalk — which would definitely give her the bright-in-some-spots, barely-there-in-others look she’s sporting here.

Do you like her with neon-highlighted hair? Would you try a similar (temporary) look for a fancy event?

Ever look at a major red carpet (like the Oscars, or Monday’s Met Gala) and think to yourself, “Gee, I’d love to buy that!”?

Well, you’re usually out of luck, because the outfits are frequently custom-made and fitted just for the lucky star wearing the look.

May/07/2013 at 05:29 PM ET

If we somehow got into a custom couture number, you’d better believe we’d never take it off. (We’re picturing that scene from Friends with Monica, Phoebe and Rachel all wearing wedding dresses — anyone?)

But that’s just one way we differ from these five stars, who were among the crowd that ditched their glamorous Met Gala red carpet gowns for something a little easier to dance in at the Met Gala afterparty at N.Y.C.’s Top of the Standard. See the photos below, then tell us which look was best: gala or afterparty?

Had enough of all the gowns yet? Then it’s time to talk details, starting with the punked-out nailpolish we saw on some of our favorite stars.

Blake Lively: To accent her vine-embroidered Gucci Première gown, celebrity manicurist Elle put together a complicated mix of Red Carpet Manicure’s “Always Slate Never Early,” “Fake Bake” and “Black Stretch Limo,” then added rhinestones and glitter to create a vine effect that also seemed to pay homage to the night’s “Punk” theme, looking like hardcore chipped black polish from a distance.
