Food wasn’t the only thing being served at the Diamond Information Center’s gala dinner celebrating the 2008 Academy Awards. The event, hosted by Julianne Moore at Chateau Marmont, brought together two of our best-loved things: food and fabulous gems. A dinner bell rang to announce each course, and out came an array of diamond jewelry on silver serving platters. Dazzling treats included plates of necklace-adorned macaroons, gems dipped in chocolate, and bracelets draped over pastries. And, according to Moore, it actually was as amazing as it sounds. “It was really fun,” she exclaims of the evening that celebrated hot international jewelry designers. But how did she decide on her own gorgeous gems for such a bling-heavy event? “Renny Lewis and an Indian designer did my bracelet,” she says. “I really like everything I’m wearing tonight because I think it’s just very modern.” But even surrounded by millions in rare gems, the most priceless thing to see at the event wasn’t the jewelry at all, it was a Sharon Stone all dolled up in Dior. And we’re not talking a gown here. Instead the actress strolled the scene in a set of the designer’s zebra-print PJs! When Donatella Versace invites you to a party, you don’t say no — and you definitely say yes to borrowing one of her house’s super-sexy gowns. At the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award honoring Donatella and her late brother Gianni Versace, A-listers turned out looking so good, that we can’t help but wonder if it’s even possible to look bad in Versace? (Oscar nominees and presenters, take note!) Drew Barrymore left her hippie vibe at home for sleek, straight hair and a stone-encrusted gown, while the better-than-ever Jennifer Lopez played the part of the smoldering siren to a hilt — even Sharon Stone, who has made more than one questionable fashion choice recently, looked flawless. Other attendees looking jaw-droppingly beautiful included Eva Longoria in ice-blue, Mischa Barton in a daring hemline, Jada Pinkett Smith and Demi Moore in second-skin black satin, and so many more in a truly star-studded evening. This isn’t Sharon Stone’s first time making a questionable fashion decision — or even the second– but last night, as the host of the Macy’s Passport Gala, she raised eyebrows with her risque rump-revealing frock. While the front of her black satin dress looked elegant and a touch conservative, the back was quite another story! There were two sheer panels that revealed not only all of her thighs but a quite a bit of her booty as well. We don’t know if this was intended to shock or if Sharon just didn’t realize how high or how sheer the panels were. Tell us: What do you think of Sharon’s dress? Would you wear it?
