The Met Gala has come and gone, but one question has remained unanswered: What did Vogue editor Anna Wintour really think of all those men flouting her “White Tie and Decorations” dress code and coming in (gasp!) black tie instead? She and Met Gala co-chair Sarah Jessica Parker (that’s them above, with fellow co-hosts Aerin Lauder, Bradley Cooper and Jonathan and Lizzie Tisch, co-founder of Suite 1521) joined Seth Meyers on his show to discuss just how that very haute receiving line feels — and their reaction to some of the male attendees who didn’t quite get the dress code right.

“I had no idea how much panic this would cause men, but the best email was from Tom Ford, who dressed many of the handsome men there Monday night,” Wintour said. “Not only did hundreds of men ask him what white tie meant, they were confused by decorations. There were a couple of people who asked if they were Christmas Tree decorations.” Meyers wanted to know just how off-base stars including Tom Brady, Kanye West and co-host Cooper were — so he pulled up their images on-screen for fashionistas Wintour and Parker to critique.

Which black-tie wearing star got a pass because his date was so gorgeous? Who got pegged as wearing “Brooklyn white tie?” And did Meyers escape their cold, appraising eye? Check out the video below and tell us: What did you think of their judgments? And wouldn’t you pay to see the Wintour/Parker comedy college campus tour? Leave your thoughts in the comments!

Met Gala 2014: The Night's Most Talked About Headpieces

May/06/2014 at 03:05 PM ET

Sure there were all these gorgeous gowns to captivate your attention at the Met Gala, but there were also some very fancy headgear that stopped red carpet traffic Monday night. We’ve gone over the gowns, and now it’s time to talk accessories.

Lupita Nyong’o: To complete her flapper-inspired custom Prada gown, PEOPLE’s Most Beautiful Woman wore an emerald-green vintage Cartier necklace as a headpiece, along with lots more vintage Cartier jewels. These out-there jewels (plus the dress itself) are the reasons why the star nabbed our risk-taker award. Read More

Sarah Jessica Parker serves as co-chair of this year’s Met Gala with Bradley Cooper, and the high-fashion vet definitely followed the Charles James-inspired dress code. The actress selected a stunning custom Oscar de La Renta confection that is so major, it has to be seen in motion. Behold: This gif to your left.

After taking a closer look you’ll notice SJP’s ball gown — which features a black bodice and voluminous white skirt — has some very intricate details. “I said to Mr. de la Renta, Please let me use scarlet embroidery thread and flash your name across the back,” Parker tells PEOPLE. “It was my idea.”

The star paired her whiplash-inducing design with white elbow-length gloves and a major updo (which must have involved some major pins and hairpieces) accessorized with oversize flower clips. But we can’t say we’re surprised — Parker always upholds each year’s Met Gala theme to a tee.

We see plenty of LBDs on the red carpet — after all, the closet staple looks great on everybody — but we especially love the Lanvin one spotted on Emma Roberts this week. That’s why it’s no surprise the star took this week’s Best Dressed title by a landslide with a 93 percent approval rating.

What made Emma’s ensemble, worn to the Lanvin and Living Beauty Host an Evening of Fashion party in L.A., such a home run? The techno jersey fabric is a refreshing change, the neckline is gorgeous and the cinched waist and skirt length are super flattering. Top it off with that chic blonde bob and a pair of Rupert Sanderson heels, and you have this week’s most loved look (and a perfect date outfit!). Read More

It’s no secret we’ve been following Sarah Jessica Parker‘s shoe tour very closely. (One of us even had the pleasure of shoe-shopping with the actress!) And while the focus might be what’s happening on her feet, it’s hard not to notice the quirky outfits the actress has been sporting across the country. In fact, they all look like ensembles Carrie Bradshaw would boldly wear traipsing around the streets of Manhattan.

Maybe she’s channeling her shoe-obsessed Sex and the City alter ego (after all, she did name a footwear style after her) or maybe she’s just showing off some fun new pieces from her wardrobe. Regardless, she has our attention and it’s time to breakdown her looks. Read More
