Robert Pattinson: Using Moisturizer Has Caused 'Quite a Profound Change In My Life'

Have you recovered yet from Robert Pattinson‘s Dior Homme ads? The Twilight star got hearts racing — and people talking — with his smoldering black-and-white ads for the designer perfume. Now that he’s six months into his role as the handsome face of the brand, has his life changed dramatically?

Well, sort of. “I was a brush-your-teeth-and-have-a-shower kind of guy. I can’t tell if it’s because of my association with Dior or because I’m older, but I’ve started moisturizing,” he tells the Wall Street Journal. “It’s been a quite profound change in my life.” Though the article notes that there might have just been a hint of sarcasm in Pattinson’s voice, he does admit to loving Dior’s “Dermo System Repairing Moisturizing Emulsion.”

And if you’re on edge waiting for another Pattinson ad, rest easy: His second outing will air during the Olympics in February. “I like trying to do ambitious things,” he says of his “violent and visceral” Romain Gavras-directed ads for the brand. “That’s what got me really enthusiastic about the campaign, that [Dior] wasn’t shying away from anything.”

And maybe, in your emotional turmoil, you started shaving your face and then turned away from the mirror in disgust halfway through. Or perhaps one boo likes your face bearded and the other prefers it clean-shaven, so you’re hedging your bets. Or could it be that you just misunderstood the directions for Movember?

Whatever the reason, this fuzzy chin strap is not your best look. Oh, sure, we know you’re not vain. There’s been this, and this, and especially this to prove that point. But when you’ve been blessed with a lantern jawline, highlighting the pointiest part of it isn’t manly — it’s sort of “Lord of the Rings Elfin Extra.” And as we all know, you are no extra in sci-fi/fantasy films. You’re the Leading Man.
