Rihanna Debuts a Wild New Do

Bye bye, blonde! Rihanna went back to her basic black hair color over the weekend, adding length and side-swept bangs — and shaving off some strands on the left side of her head.

The singer, currently traveling the world to promote her upcoming film, Battleship, debuted the look during a stop in Yokosuka, Japan, on the USS George Washington on Monday morning.

Rihanna has tried a whole slew of new hair colors in the past two years, dying her hair red in June 2010 for her European tour, going brunette a year later and then trying blonde in February. (Phew!)

However, in March, the singer told PEOPLE she was going to go back to black sooner or later. “Black is easy,” she explained. But there’s definitely another color change on the horizon.
