They’re creepy and they’re kooky….at least Reese, Courteney, and McDreamy and their kids will be on Halloween. The famous Avon faces ringing your bell that night won’t be making a sales call, but rather, they’ll be trick or treating with their children. “My son Darby is into skeletons and anything with skull and crossbones,” presenter Patrick Dempsey told PEOPLE at The Avon Foundation for Women Benefit at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York Tuesday. “They’ve been practicing for Halloween for about a month now.” And their daughter is also going for the dark side. “My daughter is going to be the gothic princess skeleton,” added McDreamy’s wife (and Avon’s Global Creative Color Director) Jillian Dempsey. “We’re going as the Addams Family,” chimed in Courteney Cox Arquette, also a presenter. And her little daughter Coco? “She’s going to be Wednesday,” said Cox, while husband David is going to be Gomez. Not everyone is that settled, as the evening’s co-host, Reese Witherspoon, claimed she didn’t know yet what the kids would dress as on Halloween. “But I’m going to be a monster,” said Witherspoon. “I found a great furry costume and I had to buy it.” And even those trick or treating without little ones are getting into the spirit, with Lauren Conrad making her own clown costume. “It just sounded fun,” she said. “And I figured it was the only costume that I could wear with flats. I can wear tennis shoes. You get tired of heels!“ – Jeffrey Slonim

Reese Witherspoon is the next Hollywood star to join the ranks of celeb perfumers like Paris Hilton and Halle Berry, announcing today that she plans to launch her first signature scent for Avon. In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon will be a gardenia, magnolia and jasmine scent, and the star’s inspiration for the feminine floral was close to home. “In developing In Bloom, I found myself drawn to the scents of my childhood in Tennessee,” explains Reese. “We had a great big magnolia tree in the back yard, and it’s that beautiful white blossom that inspired the perfume.” But while the scent references the actress’s past, she wanted it also to be a clear reflection of her present. “In Bloom is indicative of where I am in my life today,” she says. “I’m feeling very strong and independent, and so happy, so full of life. The fragrance truly captures that feeling­­ — it’s very sensual, very romantic and alluring.” You’ll still have to wait to try the Avon scent, which won’t launch until November of this year, priced at $34 for a 1.7 oz. eau de parfum. Reese Witherspoon has thrilled us with her award show looks over the years, from her vintage Christian Dior to collect her Best Actress Oscar to her sexy yellow Nina Ricci at the Golden Globes the following year. We’ve been stocking our wardrobes with Target’s designer collaborations like Loeffler Randall and Gryson, and a collective thrill just went through our office as we heard that the latest brands to join in on the fun are celeb-favorites Anya Hindmarch and Sigerson Morrison. Stars like Reese Witherspoon, Lucy Liu and Angelina Jolie can’t get enough of Hindmarch’s luxe bags — and now starting October 12th, so we will (at a lower price, of course). She’s one of Hollywood’s most stylish moms, so Reese Witherspoon was sure to be there for the opening party for Poppy, a new children’s clothing boutique in Santa Monica opened by pals Jenny Belushi and Heather Whitney. Between bites of mac & cheese the actress dished to PEOPLE about all-things fashion. Reese reveals that in over-the-top L.A. it’s actually pretty difficult to find kids’ clothes that appeal to more traditional tastes — hence, her love for Poppy. “You’re not going to find a python print bikini for your baby here!” she laughs. “It’s the classic styles that are hard to find in L.A. It’s a lot of rock n’ roll T-shirts with skulls, which I think is a little morbid for a six-year-old!” And it looks like Reese’s fashion sense is genetic. “Ava loves to wear matching mom and daughter outfits,” she says. “I picked up little red peasant blouses for both of us that looks cool on me and cute on her. And my son loves everything orange! I already bought everything in the store that’s orange.” But no shopping sprees on Mother’s Day, at least. “Every year is different, of course, but there are always a lot of secret plans going on. But I know it’ll involve either dry toast with strawberry jelly or dry toast with orange jelly!” Sounds pretty sweet.
