We’ve obviously been looking closely at Pippa Middleton‘s cool winter outfits, but we’ve noticed something in particular lately: her love for her sleek black handbag. The royal sis has been spotted carrying her Aruna Seth “Romina” bag all over London this winter.
Middleton first paired the bag with a striped skirt, blazer and boots on Jan. 9, later toting it with another dress/boots/blazer outfit in London’s posh Chelsea neighborhood. And while staying casual recently in red slacks, a plaid top and a jacket, she kept the bag by her side for yet another errand run.
Interestingly, Kate’s younger sister Pippa came in second in the vote, run by U.K. drugstore Superdrug; both girls were hailed for their fresh makeup and glossy hair. U.K. X Factor judge Cheryl Cole was third on the list.
Though the poll ran in England, many American celebs made the top 20, too, including Beyoncé (seventh place), Katy Perry (ninth), Lady Gaga (12th) and Angelina Jolie (18th). Emma Watson and Adele were among the other British-bred honorees. (See the complete list at the Daily Mail.)
“Everyone in the list has a distinct look, whether it’s natural beauty, full octane glamour or a love of beauty trend-hopping,” Superdrug director of beauty Sara Wolverson told the Daily Mail, adding that four of the top five vote-getters happened to be brunettes.
And you thought New York Fashion Week was a big deal! London Fashion Week is in full swing, and so far, the shows have impressed, offering star-studded front rows, technological advances and even a near-royal visit. Check out some of the highlights from the week’s biggest shows.
Burberry Prorsum
Promising a starry front row at London Fashion Week, the Burberry Prorsum show on Monday (above, left) did not disappoint. Sienna Miller, Kanye West and a current face of the brand, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, sat alongside Rachel Zoe, Gemma Arterton, tennis star Andy Murray, singer Paul Weller and photographer Mario Testino at Christopher Bailey’s spring/summer 2012 show in Kensington Gardens. Tribal-inspired print dresses were paired with cropped trenches and raffia caps in a collection that put a handcrafted artisan twist on ladylike chic.
“Oh my God, that was insanity!” gushed Zoe to PEOPLE as she headed backstage. “[Bailey is] amazing. I mean, who else makes a coat like that?” she added, referring to the “reinvention” of the classic Burberry trench.
It looks like even Lindsay Lohan has caught the Pippa bug!
For Kim Kardashian’sstar-studded nuptials on Saturday, the actress donned a white version of the glamorous green Temperley gown Pippa Middleton wore to her sister’s royal wedding; Temperley’s public relations team says they didn’t lend Lohan the gown, but believe she purchased it from their Los Angeles store for the Saturday wedding in Montecito, Calif.
And while conventional wedding wisdom says that a guest should never wear white, the hue was actually at the bride’s behest; she requested that the 450 guests “please wear black or white.”
The gown, a floor-length satin dress with a crystal brooch, was first created for the Duchess of Cambridge’s little sis. “I was honored that Ms. Pippa Middleton asked me to design her dress for the Royal Wedding evening reception,” the British designer said at the time. “She loved the green color, which looks great on her skin tone. The dress was designed especially for her with a fantastic open back and a full skirt for dancing in.”
While Middleton paired the show-stopper with a sparkling clutch and Aruna Seth heels, Lohan stuck with the white motif, adding a fringed updo plus jewels by Philip Press, Elodie K. and Erica Courtney to complete the look. Tell us: Who do you think looks better in Temperley?
