Pippa Middleton Jokes About Being Famous For Her Rear View at Kate's Wedding: 'It Has Its Backside'

A lot has happened since the Royal Wedding in 2011. Queen Elizabeth celebrated her Diamond Jubilee. Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge welcomed Prince George (and Kate slipped right back into her skinnies). Prince Harry grew a scruffy beard and started dating Cressida Bonas. But — or should we say butt — there is still one moment from Will and Kate’s fête that has not lost it’s buzz: Pippa Middleton‘s derrière in her Alexander McQueen bridesmaid dress. Proof: Kate’s baby sis is still talking about it!

Middleton made a speech Monday at a London event, and she couldn’t help but quip about the royal moment that put her on the global map. “As I have found out, recognition has its upside, its downside and — you may say — its backside,” she said, via the U.K. paper The Mirror, adding that she was “glad it fitted” at the time, but “in retrospect, it fitted a little too well.”

Since the wedding, Middleton has been very busy pursuing her own career, even penned a book about party planning. Plus, she might be taking a trip down the aisle soon, reportedly getting serious with boyfriend Nico Jackson. But we’re pretty sure we won’t be seeing a reprise of that major bum moment on her big day. What do you think of Middleton’s butt buzz? Are you surprised she’s still talking about it?

Last time we saw Duchess Catherine in all-white Alexander McQueen was at her royal nuptials to Prince William. This time, it’s for another royal occasion — the christening of her 3-month-old son Prince George.

While George was dressed in an elaborate replica of the royal christening robe, Middleton took a slightly more modern approach, wearing a custom ivory Alexander McQueen coat dress featuring ruffles down the front. Simple drop earrings and coordinating L.K. Bennett cream pumps completed the look.

And of course, she topped her famously gorgeous hair with a coordinating bespoke Jane Taylor “sinamay beret” featuring netting and a flower appliqué. (See a similar style by the milliner — for more than $1,200! — here.)

Fall is here, which means we’re going to see a lull in fringe and florals, and the return of (faux) fur and … feathers?! Believe it or not, the somewhat hippie-chic embellishment is taking the red carpet by storm in surprisingly sophisticated ways.

And just in the past week alone, three big stars braved the bold trend.

Cate Blanchett commanded our attention in this Prabal Gurung design featuring a full skirt of red and white feathers, worn to the Beauty in Wonderland Exhibition in Milan.

Soon we’ll be hearing the pitter-patter of tiny royal feet — as well as the sound of a famous mother chasing after the new heir. And chances are that this particular famous mom, Duchess Catherine, may be wearing a pair of Chatelles while she does so.

Kate was introduced to the shoes by her sister Pippa Middleton, who’s a big fan of the line (as seen at left). Once she had three pairs of her own, “Pippa said, ‘I want to buy a pair for my sister,’” the line’s designer, François du Chastel, tells PEOPLE.

Through feedback from Pippa, his longtime friend, du Chastel believes Kate loves her styles, Honoré and Alphonse. And though she hasn’t been spotted out in them yet — “I don’t know if she wore them at Buckingham Palace in private,” he says — they’re perfect for an expectant mom: “I want a girl to shine and be comfy.”

Saturday night: Eagle-eyed readers may notice that this is a three-peat for Jamie Chung in “What to Wear This Weekend,” but she’s definitely earned the distinction. Her latest awesome ensemble, worn to a Montblanc party in L.A., is noteworthy because it’s so super-simple but makes a major impact. The peach-and-pink Lovers + Friends “Dandy Dress” is both breezy and sexy at the same time and looks fab with some cute cap-toe pumps and layered necklaces. Toss on something similarly bright and effortless (this French Connection dress has a little more waist definition for curvier girls) and let the color do all the work for you.

Is This The Wedding Guest Uniform for Summer 2013?

The PEOPLE StyleWatch team collectively is attending a lot of weddings this summer, which means we’ve subsequently spent a lot of time thinking about what to wear to them all.

We ordinarily reach for something pretty basic that we can jazz up with jewelry (isn’t that the universal wedding guest dress rule?) but two photos we’ve seen lately make us think it may be time to up our game.

RELATED PHOTOS: Would you wear THIS to a wedding?

Both Cameron Diaz (at Lake Bell’s wedding) and Pippa Middleton (in Tabitha Webb at the wedding of Lady Melissa Percy and Thomas van Straubenzee) reached for similar, graphic-print peplum dresses with sleeves.

Each let the black-and-white print speak mostly for itself, though they each also chose one standout accessory to finish the look — Middleton chose a bold, feather-and-pearl accented hat while Diaz went for black-and-gold platform sandals.

Be sure to enter our Your Turn challenge to show off what you’re rocking at summer weddings this year, then Tell us: Do you like this look for a wedding, or it is too fussy for you? What’s your wedding guest uniform?
