Who knew black leather could be ladylike? Apparently star stylists, who this week, dressed many fashionistas in feminine leather frocks. Sparkly dresses had an even stronger presence on the red carpet, too, after making their big debut last week. But somewhat summery styles seemingly had their last red carpet hurrah. Yup, you guessed it: It’s time to see what’s hot (and not) in Hollywood this week:

Up: Dazzling party dresses: We noticed lots of stars wearing metallic dresses last week, but this week, there were even more sightings — and it’s not even party-dress season yet! Penélope Cruz was wrapped up like a present in a gold, glittery L’Wren Scott gown, while Kelly Osbourne, Heidi Klum and Halle Berry also got into the spirit as silver-wearing belles. Based on these sightings, we predict that sequins, sparkles and shimmer will continue to dominate the carpet until the ball drops on Dec. 31.

Well, this is certainly a fitting job for bombshell actress Penélope Cruz: The star and her equally smoking-hot sister, Mónica, are teaming up with luxury lingerie maker Agent Provocateur to help create the brand’s first diffusion collection, L’Agent.

As reported by WWD, the line will feature bras, briefs, thongs and corsets, with the average price set at $64, which is way cheaper than the cost of an Agent Provocateur design. (Some of their pieces go for as much as $1,190!)

CEO Garry Hogarth describes the new venture as “a little younger, and perhaps less sophisticated than the main line, but very wearable, very sexy and with the handwriting of Agent Provocateur.”

So that’s what it’s like to be a celebrity! Penélope Cruz gets primped and prodded — and looks absolutely flawless — in this behind-the-scenes shot from the 2013 Campari Calendar shoot. The actress is the star of the 2013 calendar, an artistic work published, obviously, once yearly, considered limited edition because only 9,999 copies are made.

“I have really enjoyed working on this project for one of the world’s most iconic brands, particularly with such an amazing history attached to it,” Cruz says in a statement. “The theme in itself is intense, captivating and chic.” (The theme is currently a secret.)

Red Carpet Trend Report: What's Sizzling and What's Fizzling

Mega movie premieres this week (yay for summer blockbusters) meant lots of opportunities to see our favorite stars work it hard on the red carpet. And many of them did, choosing perfectly appropriate looks for their big nights out. However, there are still a few ladies on our naughty list, so let’s take a look at the trends we’re loving and the trend we’re ready to leave behind this week:

Up: Taking the plunge. If you’ve got it, flaunt it. (Well, as long as you don’t have too much of “it.”) Emma Stone‘s Elie Saab creation could’ve been a bit blasé if it went to her neck, but with the sexy deep V showing an appropriate amount of skin (and the rest of the outfit looking classy, not trashy), the star made a major fashion impression.

Penélope Cruz Recalls Her Topless Moment with Meryl Streep

When Penélope Cruz is choosing a red carpet dress, she has but one requirement: “All I look for is to be able to breathe,” she tells Harper’s Bazaar.

Working looks from Givenchy, Atelier Versace, Chanel and more as the magazine’s May cover girl, Cruz reveals her designer dream list: “Alaïa, Armani, Dolce, Karl Lagerfeld and John Galliano,” she shares. But none have yet topped her favorite fashion moment, her arrival at the 2009 Academy Awards in a vintage white Balmain gown. (She won the Oscar for Vicky Cristina Barcelona that year, too.)

These days, the actress is more likely running around after son Leo in Mother jeans and black Isabel Marant wedge sneakers (“They are sold out everywhere! Tell her to make more,” she jokes). But she still has her fill of pinch-me style moments.
