Splash News Online

A few months ago, Mary-Kate Olsen stepped out in a pair of truly unique shades: oversize black circular frames with the Chanel logo around the lenses. And now, you can add the sunglasses to your own collection.

Luxury consignment site eDrop-Off is auctioning off the Chanel sunnies as part of its eBay “Style Vault,” which is showcasing 250 pieces of vintage Chanel and Hermès, along with Oscar de la Renta spring 2013 designs.

The current bid for the funky frames is at $212.50, which actually is a bargain considering a brand new pair of Chanel shades goes for $350 and higher.

Olsen wasn’t the only stylish starlet to wear them; Rihanna, who’s a big fan of bizarre sunglasses (check out these pearl-rimmed ones she wore while performing at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show!), also donned the same black-and-white pair in November.

You can shop the auction through March 4 at 11 a.m. Tell us: Would you ever wear these over-the-top sunglasses?

Gasp! The Olsens Design a Purse the Rest of Us Can Actually Afford

Our jaws hit the floor when Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen designed a $55,000 handbag a few months ago, so it’s safe to say we had a very different (though equally enthusiastic!) reaction to their latest accessory endeavor: an attainable handbag collection for their Elizabeth and James line.

The purses, which will hit stores in July, will carry an average price tag of $500. “The price point is below [Alexander] Wang and [Phillip] Lim but above Marc [Jacobs] and Tory [Burch],” Mary-Kate tells WWD. Her sister, Ashley, adds, “And Rebecca Minkoff. We wanted these bags to be affordable.”

The collection includes every size bag imaginable, from wallet to hobo, in a “somewhat neutral” pallet with “pops of color,” according to Ashley. (Translation: expect to see a lot of the Olsens’ signature shade, black, along with grays and beiges.)

The design duo also translated some of the luxe fabrics they use for their high-end brand, The Row (including Italian suede, leather and haircalf) into the contemporary line. “When it comes down to it, our eye definitely goes to simplicity … and strong hardware and branding,” Mary-Kate says. “In this market, I think it’s important to offer color and special materials.”

Small leather goods will range from $125 – $395, and you can expect to spend between $395 – $625 for bags. Tell us: Are you excited to shop Elizabeth and James handbags?

We’re positive we weren’t the only ones whose jaws dropped when we read that Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen‘s fashion line, The Row, is selling $55,000 backpacks.

But this isn’t exactly the Jansport you carried your Trapper Keepers in during elementary school. The extravagant accessory is designed in collaboration with renowned artist Damien Hirst and it’s been dubbed “wearable art.” The backpack is limited edition — as in, there are only 12 of these babies. Each bag features black patent, Nile crocodile leather and is adorned with various designs (like pills or gold circles) courtesy of Hirst.
