Whose Baseball Style Is a Home Run? Posh vs. Mariah!

Two iconic singers known for their high heels and micro hemlines, but when it comes to throwing out the first pitch in style, who strikes out? Victoria Beckham memorably stepped up to the pitcher’s mound at Dodgers Stadium last summer in short-shorts and Dries Van Noten wedge sneakers. And this week, Mariah Carey just may have one-upped her in platform heels, denim cut-offs and a tummy-baring satin jacket. While both women clearly spent more time picking their shoes than working on their curveball, we have to pick a winner in this instance — isn’t that what sports is all about? Mariah Carey’s Honeymoon Wardrobe: Bikinis!

What does one of the hottest stars wear after her out-of-the-blue island nuptials? Just some hot little bikinis, if you’re Mariah Carey. Just before the wedding took place, Mariah’s stylist hit the stylish Pesca boutique in New York to pick up a few things “for a trip that came up all of a sudden,” according the store’s owner. Mariah’s honeymoon must-haves are multiple bikinis from Beach Bunny Swimwear that are “colorful and fun and sexy,” including the “Lady Lace,” $209, the “Sweet Escape,” $240, the “Beautiful Stranger,” $239 and the embroidered “Secret Garden,” $294. By now we all know Mariah Carey‘s obsession with sky-high heels, and she seems to be able to overlook the pain or potential for stumbling that comes with stilettos, even in these five-inch-plus Giambattista Valli platforms. She may have needed an extra hand to walk without falling, but Mariah’s not the only one willing to put up with pain in the name of style. Whether it’s torturing our feet for the sake of fashionable heels or going through painful beauty procedures to achieve glowing skin, everyone’s got a story. You’ve got to admire a girl who knows what works for her — and sticks with it! While promoting her 18th Number One single, “Touch My Body,” everywhere from New York to London to Paris, Mariah Carey honed in on a solid combo — colored, cropped bomber jackets (from Gucci and Members Only), skintight black dresses and matching sky-high heels. We love Mariah’s simple plan of attack when packing for such an extensive promotion tour, but we’d get bored too quickly! Tell us: What do you think of Mariah’s new signature look? Mariah-O-Meter: Rate Her TRL Look!

From wearing bling on the beach to stilettos in the snow, Mariah Carey never gives up her glam. For a recent appearance on TRL, Mimi dressed down in Miss Sixty skinny jeans, a Galliano graphic red tank and patent puffer coat–but in classic diva style she added sexy, strappy red wedge heels by Azzedine Alaia. Her past shoe choices have convinced us that Mariah is an expert in walking in towering heels, but these wedges seem especially treacherous. Flat boots or even just a lower wedge would have been our choice. But we want to know what do you think. Tell us: On a scale of one to ten, how would you rate Mariah’s TRL look?

No one would ever accuse Mariah Carey of not knowing what she likes — especially when it comes to her wardrobe. Throughout 2007, the chart-topping diva showed off her very distinctive style, wearing everything from a short and lowcut LBD to an even shorter bright belted mini. And when it came time to ring in the new year at TAO Las Vegas, the pop princess stuck with what she knows and slipped into this extra-tight strapless micro-mini. While Mariah may be one of the few stars with the figure to pull off super-slinky looks, when it comes to this particular dress, we think that what happened in Vegas probably should have stayed in Vegas. Mariah Carey is the ultimate sexy diva, while Miley Cyrus is the quintessential good girl. What do these two singing superstars have in common? Apparently, their taste in fashion! We saw Mariah step out in her clinging purple sweaterdress, cropped black jacket and black suede boots last month, only to spot the Hannah Montana star in a practically identical outfit in Toronto over the weekend. We love that Miley put her own sweet spin on the outfit, but we can’t help but giggle over how similar they are! Tell us: Who wears her purple dress better? Mariah or Miley?
