They really are lucky ladies: Samantha Titus, Katrina (Tina) Arandjelovic and Kimberly Perry are the brand new faces of Madonna and Lourdes Leon‘s beauty and clothing line, Material Girl. The girls beat out thousands of wannabe catwalkers in the brand’s “Lucky Stars” model search, and were handpicked by the mother-daughter duo to front the line.

“We set out to find someone who embodied the Material Girl lifestyle: a free-spirited girl with an interest in fashion, who isn’t afraid to express herself and let her true personality shine through,” Madonna and Leon said in a statement. “It came down to three girls who we absolutely loved and felt were true Material Girls, so we decided to make all of them winners.”

The ladies’ first ads, seem here, were shot in a New York City studio (Kelly Osbourne and Leon were both on set) and will debut in magazines, online and in stores later this month. The girls — who each won $5,000 in addition to the job — range in age from 19 to 21 and came from California, Illinois in New York. One runner-up, Briana Herrera, was named special correspondent for Material Girl and will blog on behalf of the brand.

Osbourne, who’s been the face of the brand for a year, won’t appear in further ads, though she hopes to stay involved with the line. “I can’t even tell you what it’s done for my confidence,” she told PEOPLE in December. “To be a face of a fashion line? I’m not even a model citizen.”

The Fashion Police star helped with the initial stages of the model search, going to open calls at malls around the U.S. before online voters — and later Madonna and Leon — chose the finalists and winners. “It gave me faith in the female kind again seeing these awesome young girls on stage,” she shared.

Leave it to Madonna‘s daughter to try a cool new look! Lourdes Leon stepped out on her way to school in New York Thursday, sporting a funky new half-shaved do. The stylish 15-year-old — who’s had long dark hair forever — had her hair up in a bun, bringing extra attention to the edgy style.

Leon hasn’t made drastic changes to her hair before, though she’s toyed with the idea. “I want royal blue hair but not a streak, like my entire head,” the teen designer wrote on her blog in December of 2010.

But at the time, she wasn’t so sure she’d get away with the change. “I read this blog aloud to my mother,” she continued, “and she is sitting here staring at me with no expression on her face, as if she doesn’t approve of it!” Wonder if Madonna gave this cut the OK? Her halftime show scored mixed reviews (full disclosure: we loved it!) but Madonna‘s Super Bowl Sunday style was a total touchdown. The Material Girl performed a series of hits in an elaborate black-and-gold wardrobe made by Givenchy’s Ricardo Tisci (accented with megawatt earrings by Bulgari) and seamlessly transitioned between looks.

Madonna started her performance in a gold cape hand-embroidered with gold metal cut-out pieces, studs, crystals, sequins and paillettes, lined in a leopard-print chiffon. She paired that with a gold, crystal-covered hat. She then changed — on stage! — into a black mini-dress (top left) with a black python hand-studded and hand-embroidered belt with removable matching flaps. (The guys of LMFAO — who wore Beats by Dr. Dre headphones studded with 114 carats of Graff diamonds — peeled that off of her after their cameo.)

For the “Like a Prayer” finale — which featured Cee Lo Green — the singer covered up in a silk cady black coat hand-embroidered with black sequins and micro pearls (top right). Throughout the performance, she also wore hand-embroidered nappa leather gloves and killer black boots.

According to a release, “Madonna’s legendary music met Ricardo Tisci’s codes in what seemed to be the most perfect way.” And the designer himself was pleased with the results. “Following my collaboration with Madonna on her last tour three years ago, it is a great honor for me to be part of yet another historical and iconic moment.”

He continues, “People say everything has a limit, but limits do not exist with Madonna. I am so happy that, after being busy in other scenes, she decided to go back on a music stage. At Sunday’s star-studded Golden Globes, Madonna took home the award for best original song, effectively dissed Ricky Gervais and looked majorly glam in second-skin Reem Acra … but her stay-sexy secret is a lot more basic than you’d think.

“I’d say my fishnets, but I am not wearing any tonight, so that’s kind of a lie,” she told reporters backstage at the Globes before declaring, “Victoria’s Secret underpants” as her wardrobe necessity. (Tweezers are her travel beauty must, she added.)

Undergarments aside, the Queen of Pop relies on dancing to keep her sinewy body in tip-top shape. “The best thing for your bum is dancing, and I can do plenty of that,” she joked.

Madonna’s take-no-prisoners attitude even affects her styling decisions. “I am wearing a dress by a designer named Reem Acra, and I love it,” she gushed of her bodice-topped gown. “I feel like I am wearing chain mail and I am ready to go to battle.”

Guess you can’t live in the material world forever. Kelly Osbourne is signing off as the face of Madonna and Lourdes Leon’s tween clothing line, Material Girl. The reality star is currently on the hunt for her replacement, helping out with a nationwide search to find the next face of the brand.

“I’m sad, but I’m really excited to help pick the next girl and that I got to be a part of this process,” she told PEOPLE at a Material Girl model casting in New York on Monday.

“Kelly was at every audition,” Leon added. “I was only at one and I did the online stuff. It was … difficult because we only get photos and resumes.”

How does one become the next Material Girl? “They get on stage in the middle of Macy’s on a microphone in front of the mall. It’s really intimidating — really scary,” Osbourne said. “But it gave me faith in the female kind again seeing these awesome young girls on stage spilling their guts. One girl drove 20 hours!”

While becoming the next Material Girl is no easy feat, Osbourne says it’s well worth the work. “I can’t even tell you what it’s done for my confidence,” she said, adding, “To be a face of a fashion line? I’m not even a model citizen.”

Palling around with Madonna’s daughter wasn’t so bad either. “Kelly was really involved and just really fun to work with. We’re very similar and we’re both really awkward, so we understand each other,” Leon offered.

“You don’t even know how many times we got in trouble because we were doing things we weren’t supposed to be doing [during shoots],” added Osbourne.

Osbourne officially passes the torch in February and from there, her future with the brand is uncertain. “I don’t know [if I'll be involved],” she said, adding, “I am going to the first photo shoot with the girls.”

But if Leon has her way, Osbourne will be around for quite some time. “Of course [she'll be involved],” she said. “We’re pallies. We’re pals.”

The Duchess can breathe easy: The Material Girl is a fan of Kate Middleton‘s wardrobe.

“She is a lovely girl with a great sense of style,” Madonna told PEOPLE at Sunday’s Cinema Society and Piaget screening of her directorial debut, W.E., in New York. “Her wedding dress by Alexander McQueen was very beautiful.”

Madonna added, “I like her choices. She’s elegant and still knows how to have some fun. I’m a fan of her style.”

Another look among the royal set that Madonna appreciates was that of Wallis Simpson — the American divorcée for whom King Edward VIII abdicated the throne of England to marry and the center of W.E., out in limited release on Dec. 9.

“She developed a style and stuck with it whether people were interested or not. I admire her individuality,” said the pop star and avid palace watcher, who “had an obsession with the royal family starting with Queen Victoria” while living in England in the mid-2000s.

As for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Madonna is happy that they get to live a less restricted life.

“The freedom that [Kate] has and the freedom the royal family has now is nice and is refreshing,” she shared. “It’s too bad that Edward VIII didn’t have that same kind of freedom back in 1937 to make his own decisions and to be the prince of the people, which Prince William is allowed to be. I like how modern they are now.”

Today, she’s untouchable: Madonna has her music career, an upcoming directorial debut, her pick of famous boyfriends and a soon-to-launch clothing line and fragrance. But growing up in the Midwest, life wasn’t always easy for the Material Girl.

“The boys in my school would make fun of me,” she reveals in the December issue of Harper’s Bazaar. They called her “‘hairy monster.’ You know, things like that,” she recalls. “And then, going to high school, I saw how popular girls had to behave to get the boys. I knew I couldn’t fit into that. So I decided to do the opposite. I refused to wear makeup, to have a hairstyle. I refused to shave. I had hairy armpits.”

The singer says that hanging out in gay clubs as a teen helped her find herself. “Straight men did not find me attractive,” she shares. “I think they were scared of me because I was different.” But that obviously didn’t stop her.

Now a mother four times over, Madonna says she doesn’t like her age associated with her work. “I find whenever someone writes anything about me, my age is right after my name,” she muses. “It’s almost like they’re saying, ‘Here she is, but remember she’s this age, so she’s not that relevant anymore.’ When you put someone’s age down, you’re limiting them.”

Age doesn’t limit daughter Lourdes, who oversees the Macy’s juniors line Material Girl with her mom. “She loves fashion and style,” Madonna says of her daughter. “She helps design the collection. I just stand in the background and watch.”

Two major singers, two major new scents. Madonna and Katy Perry are both one the verge of releasing new fragrances — Madge’s first, the California Gurl’s second — and both recently sat down with WWD to talk bottles, botanicals and more.

“I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well,” Madonna tells WWD. “Something classical and timeless and yet modern.” Recalling the perfume her mother wore — which smelled like gardenias and tuberose — the singer say she wanted to “recreate this scent, but with something fresh and new about it as well.”

The result is a fragrance with top notes of gardenia, tuberose and neroil; a heart of jasmine and white lily petals; and a drydown of vanilla, amber and musk. The scent will hit U.S. Macy’s stores in late March, retailing from $55 to $68.

Perry’s Meow!, a follow-up to the wildly successful Purr, is “a little bit more sweet,” the singer tells WWD. “It was probably because of the California Dreams tour that it was more of the confectionary world, because everything I’ve seen for the last year has been like cotton-candy scented or huge peppermints or massive gummy bears.”

Meow! has top notes of tangerine, pear, gardenia and jasmine; a heart of honeysuckle, lily of the valley and orange blossom; and a drydown of vanilla, musk, amber and sandalwood.

The bottle, cat-shaped just like Purr, stands alone, Perry says. “It’s … really stunning and doesn’t need bells and whistles, or too much sparkle around it,” she shares. Arriving in Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com in mid-November, it’ll be available in two sizes, and priced from $45 to $65.

Move over, Material Girl: mama Madonna is breaking out on her own. The singer is launching her own lifestyle brand, Truth or Dare by Madonna, with a fragrance, accessories, footwear and intimates to follow.

“Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand,” Madonna tells WWD. Now, “the timing is right.”

Madonna’s brand will piggyback Material Girl, the highly successful line she launched with daughter Lourdes at Macy’s last year. Whereas Truth or Dare will target women 27 to 50 — and “showcases the duality of her image, a power icon intertwined with feminine beauty,” WWD reports — Material Girl caters to juniors.

“Lola did most of the work,” Madonna told PEOPLE last August of her daughter’s contribution to Material Girl. “I just kind of hung out in the background and went, ‘That’s nice,’ but she pretty much did all of the work. I was just overseeing it.”

Material Girl, which launched as a clothing line and counts Kelly Osbourne as its current face, expanded into beauty, outerwear and intimates earlier this year. Tell us: Would you buy clothing designed by Madonna?

Most people don’t remember their first birthday party. But for Material Girl designer Lourdes Leon the occasion — her brand’s first birthday — was unforgettable.

“It feels so great,” she told PEOPLE recently during the bash at Macy’s in New York. “I never thought it would get this big and it makes me really proud, and my mom is really proud, too.”

Mom Madonna has said she lets Leon do “most of the work,” but the brand’s face, Kelly Osbourne, says the superstar singer contributes, too. “[Leon] and Madonna do everything and that really reflects in the styles you see coming down the catwalk … it makes me really proud as well, because the line just keeps getting better and better,” she told PEOPLE.

The collaboration between the Osbournes and Madonna’s family is stylishly in sync; in fact, the material girls said they find inspiration in each other. “Definitely Kelly, and my mom definitely inspires me,” Lourdes said when asked about her style icons. “She’s just crazy when it comes to her fashion sense.” Osbourne echoes that sentiment. “I actually learned a lot from my mother and growing up watching Madonna.”

And these days, Madonna doesn’t just influence her daughter — she shares her clothes. Or tries to. “My mom doesn’t fit into my shoes, so sucks for her,” Leon joked. “She’s like, ‘Oh damn, this doesn’t fit on my feet.’ I’m like, ‘Oh really? That’s too bad!’”

But she is happy to take advice from her mother, especially when it comes to personal style. “We sort of balance each other out. I feel like I could work on it, and she does the same for me,” Leon said. “We both give each other fashion tips.”

On Thursday, we spotted the Material Girl wearing red frames with her butterfly-embellished gown at the premiere of her directorial project, W.E. She then switched up the style, opting for a metallic pair Friday night at Gucci’s Women in Cinema awards, also held in the charming Italian city. On both occasions, she completed her look with bright red lipstick and voluminous hair.

What do teenagers love? According to 14-year-old Lourdes Leon, it’s fresh and fruity scents, dramatic nail polish colors and of course, pretty party dresses.

The budding designer, who oversees Macy’s Material Girl line with mom Madonna, recently unveiled the latest offerings for the brand, including more denim, party dresses, outerwear, lingerie and makeup.

“I really like the vanilla body lotion,” she told PEOPLE while experimenting with some of the beauty buys. “It smells really good, fresh, like you just rubbed vanilla essence all over you … which is good!”

Another favorite? Labyrinth nail enamel. “I think it’s cool,” she said of the sheer, sparkly polish she was sporting that day. “You can wear it to school without it being overly bright, which is nice.”

But more than anything, the high schooler loves seeing her line grow. “I like when everything is done and I get to see it, and I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s cool,’” she explained. “This is a fine finished product, and it’s going in stores. I like to see what it looks like at the end.” Look for expanded Material Girl offerings to hit Macy’s stores this fall.

”It was so much fun getting to pick all of my favorite scents for the Material Girl body products and lip glosses,” Lourdes told WWD. “The body products have fun names like Wicked Watermelon, Flirty Fruit, Midnight Magnolia and Sinful Sugar. I chose scents that I loved.” After girls everywhere start smacking their lips with the new glosses, they can stock up on fall fashions like studded and acid-wash skinny jeans, outerwear like cape coats and bomber jackets, and a collection of sequin-covered, feather-accessorized dresses, also coming to stores in fall. Work it, Kelly! She was announced as the fresh new face of Madonna and daughter Lourdes’s juniors clothing line Material Girl in January, and now, Kelly Osbourne is rocking out in some new images from the upcoming fall 2011 campaign, called MG + NYC.
”We have both enjoyed working with Kelly and are thrilled to have her on board for the launch of the fall 2011 collection,” Madonna said in a statement accompanying the latest images. And Osbourne feels right at home working with the material mom-and-daughter duo. “I’m really enjoying being the face of Material Girl. I love being part of a brand for girls and having the opportunity to work with Lola [a.k.a. Lourdes] who has an amazing fashion instinct,” she said. “Added to that is the fact that Madonna has been a big influence on my style over the years.” For the new campaign, photographer Brooke Nipar shot Osbourne in iconic spots throughout New York City, including Times Square, Soho and Washington Square Park. The ads serve as a follow-up to Osbourne’s spring campaign for the brand, carried exclusively at Macy’s. CAN YOU GUESS THE STAR BARGAIN?

With a new collaboration popping up every day, few designer-celebrity partnerships withstand the test of time. An exception to the rule is Jean Paul Gaultier, who, with a traveling exhibit and corresponding tome, reveals a lifelong liaison between style and pop culture. Did you know that the designer catapulted to fame in the late ’70s with a collection inspired by Grease? Or that before dressing stars like Rihanna and Nicole Kidman, he played wardrobe stylist to Kurt Cobain, Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Cameo? Exhibit curator Thierry-Maxime Loriot tells PEOPLE that Gaultier pulls inspiration from television, film, music and yes, real people. It’s this very aesthetic that upset fashion traditionalists so many years ago. “He destroys the notion of elegance. It’s street fashion that I see all the time outside the windows of my atelier,” designer Claude Montana lamented to PEOPLE in 1985. A year later, Madonna first wore Gaultier’s designs to the premiere of Desperately Seeking Susan, and a legendary partnership was born. The duo went on to collaborate on costumes for the pop sensation’s Blonde Ambition tour in 1990, the Confessions tour in 2006 and countless other occasions. Footage from the 1985 film premiere foreshadows their mutual success.
