Liv Tyler Trades in Sneakers and Flats for Sky-High Stilettos

At five-ft., 10-in. tall, actress Liv Tyler towers over many people in Hollywood. But that certainly isn’t stopping her from slipping on some stilettos. “I’m obsessed with wearing heels all the time now, these Louboutin heels,” she tells Nylon magazine. “They’re really comfortable.” However Tyler, who claims her rockin’ dad steals her clothes, wasn’t always such a fan of being so, er, well-heeled. “I was this tall when I was, I think, 11? So at 11, I was five-ft., 10-in. and I had a size 10 shoes,” she says about once hesitating to accentuate her height. Today, though, it’s a different story. “This came to me like a light bulb recently, like, ‘Why am I so shy when I’m tall?’ and ‘Why do I feel better in flats and Converse? Oh I bet it’s because I was a giant at 11 years old, and I was so much taller than everyone. Liv Tyler’s No-Fuss Warm-Weather Style

Hollywood might be high maintenance, but Liv Tyler isn’t. “I really like classic looks in the summer — things that feel nice and flowy,” the actress revealed at the Cinema Society and Grey Goose-sponsored screening of her new film, The Ledge, on Tuesday. Her summertime essentials? “Little Bensimon sneakers and cut-off jean shorts, a little striped blue and white shirt,” she said. “I really want to go shopping and get some new summer dresses.” Tyler’s beauty regimen is as low-key as her wardrobe choices. “I don’t really do a lot to my hair,” she shared. “I wash it and put a lot of conditioner in it.” No blow dryers or curling irons required! And how does she take care of that famous porcelain skin? “I always try and exfoliate a lot,” she explained. “Keep it really clean and moisturized.” Tell us: What’s your summer style routine? –Hannah Kay Hunt

Liv Tyler Gets First Dibs on Stella McCartney Kids’ Clothes — and Panties

It’s no secret that Liv Tyler and Stella McCartney are good girlfriends. Even their mothers were BFFs. “[I've known Stella] since she was a baby … yes, seriously,” Tyler’s mom Bebe Buell told PEOPLE Wednesday at the opening of the new Stella McCartney boutique in New York’s Saks Fifth Avenue. “Her mother [Linda] was a very good friend.” However, Tyler and McCartney recall bonding later in life. “I think I met you at Kate [Moss's] house,” McCartney reminded Tyler during the stylish bash. Regardless of where or how they met, the ladies share secrets, lunches and of course, fashion. “She’s very sweet about sending presents,” Tyler said of her pal. “I should say my favorite things I get to have first are the kids’ line or lingerie. I really appreciate a nice pair of panties.” And her son Milo, 6, appreciates the boys’ clothes — sometimes. “[There are] high-top sneakers that I love … little corduroy trousers and nice sweaters,” Tyler said. “But he would be happy if he could be in his pajamas all day.” Especially when mom tries to dress him up. “I kept trying to put him in the Sergeant Pepper jacket from [McCartney's collection for] The Gap. He said, ‘Nice try, mummy,’” she laughed. “Liv sends me pictures of Milo all the time in my clothes,” McCartney added. “He’s a beautiful boy, I have to say.” McCartney, herself a mom of four, says her children make great little models, too. “They have very nice clothes at their fingertips,” she shared. “They’re the luckiest kids in town.” –Jeffrey Slonim

Liv Tyler may be impressed with her father’s American Idol judging skills, but as it turns out, dad Steven Tyler is actually the one looking up to his daughter for fashion advice! Liv tells nymag.com that it’s no surprise she approves of her father’s sense of style, because he often draws fashion inspiration straight from her wardrobe. “My dad wears girls’ clothes — it’s so funny,” she shares. “Sometimes I see him and I’m like, ‘Nice shirt!,’ because it’s from my closet.” But regardless of his often-questionable clothes, his proud daughter loves him just the way he is. “I think he’s really handsome. I feel really proud of him,” she says. “I think he’s a really amazing, magical man and all those funny things that he says that people find so strange, my whole life I’ve been hearing them and they make me laugh. Fashion Faceoff: Liv Tyler vs. Kanye West

Talk about things getting wild and wooly! It was a real life faceoff at the Givenchy ready-to-wear in Paris on Sunday, when Liv Tyler and Kanye West both showed up sporting the same black sweater from the men’s line, emblazoned with a ferocious dog with bared teeth. Tyler dressed her look up with tights, a tuxedo jacket, leather clutch and heels, while West topped his outfit off with shades, a nylon coat, leather pants and boots. Both stars kept their looks monochromatic — maybe they coordinated ahead of time? — and took their seats at the show without drama. Tell us: Who worked the sweater better? –Kate Hogan

It may be frigid in Salt Lake City, but the stars in town for the Sundance Film Festival have figured out that the best way to punctuate the snowy landscape is with eye-catching accessories! A-listers including Demi Moore, Liv Tyler, Elizabeth Olsen and Kate Bosworth don’t sacrifice style for warmth by accenting winter wear with a variety of seasonal accoutrement. Ashton’s gal chose industrial lace-up booties to trudge through the snow while Tyler, in town on behalf of her dramatic film The Edge, stayed toasty in a fuzzy hat with ear flaps. Newcomer, and little sister to Mary-Kate and Ashley, Olsen kept the freeze out with a cozy wraparound scarf and burgundy beret, which she paired with on-trend leather leggings.
