Jul/23/2014 at 05:10 PM ET

When Lauren Conrad debuts a new mane change on Instagram, we usually proceed with caution. The designer has a history of playing pranks on her social media followers — like that time she “went purple.” But we think her new switch-up might be the real deal. Her latest photo shows the star super blonde, and it definitely suits her.

In Honor of Kim Kardashian's Blonde Wig Prank, Let's Look Back at Other Hair Tricksters

Jun/26/2014 at 04:07 PM ET

We’re always excited when a celebrity has a new mane change, so when Kim Kardashian shared a series of pictures with new blonde tresses yesterday, our inboxes flooded with emails saying, “OMG! Did you see?!” Despite our suspicions that it might be faux, we couldn’t just ignore her new do — and of course, hours later, the reality star shared another picture of herself with the caption, “It’s just a wig! Looks so real though right?” Though she managed to fool many with her fake locks, she hasn’t been the first celeb to try a hair hoax.

Need Mother's Day Gift Ideas? Let Lauren Conrad and Pal Hannah Skvarla Help You Out!

Lauren Conrad is our unofficial arbiter for all things chic and personal. Her Instagram alone is a treasure trove of gifting and party-throwing inspiration. So who better to give great Mother’s Day gift advice than the designer/entrepreneur/star herself? We tapped into her expertise for some ideas for moms both young and older.

And any mom could tell you, the best gift is a meaningful one. Conrad and her best friend Hannah Skvarla tend to agree with that sentiment, which is why they founded e-commerce site The Little Market. The site’s mission is to “build sustainable partnerships with artisans in developing countries, by connecting them with customers through an online marketplace,” according to its website. “We seek to empower women artisans to rise above poverty and support their families.”

That’s why the duo included a few of their own finds from their world travels in the gift list, below. “Growing up, the best Mother’s Day gifts were handmade by us and were all about expressing our gratitude to our moms,” Conrad and Skvarla wrote to us. “This year, The Little Market is full of handmade gifts for moms that will generate income for the mothers who make them.” Read on below to see their gifting ideas, from DIY to too cute for words, and tell us in the comments: What are you planning to give to your mom for Mother’s Day?

Friendship Bracelets Are Back (and Way More Stylish This Time Around)

Apr/28/2014 at 06:00 AM ET

Back in the day, we loved friendship bracelets, those braided string creations we made at summer camp or in middle school. So it should come as no surprise that editors here are really into the upgraded version of the bracelet: These ones are made with luxe materials, feature a little sparkle, play well with bangles and watches, have a celeb following (Rachel Zoe and Lauren Conrad are fans of the brand) and are the perfect boho-bling-y touch to all your spring and summer outfits. And we should also add that these friendship bracelet stacks of three normally go for $150, but we nabbed ‘em for you for way less than half that price. Because that’s what friends are for.

Click on your favorite color way above in the video (or just click here), add ‘em to the cart and enter STYLE15 at checkout for an extra 15% off the already-reduced price (if it’s your first time shopping Joyus.com).

Now you just have to decide if you’re going to keep the whole stack for yourself (yes, that’s what most of us did) or divide it up and give two to your best friends.

While skimming our social media outlets today, we noticed that all of the things we clicked on seemed to connect one way or another. You may think that Marc Jacobs has nothing to do with Nick Cannon (and Marc might think so too) — but you’re mistaken! Just to make sure didn’t miss some of the major moments on Instagram and Twitter today, we rounded em up and made the connections just so you can see how small (say, six degrees apart) the fashion world actually is.
