Kelly Ripa Searches for the Perfect Oscar Gown

Finding an Oscar dress isn’t easy — just as Kelly Ripa! The talk show hostess is busy looking for the perfect gown to wear while hanging backstage at Sunday’s show and interviewing stars for her morning-after LIVE! with Kelly special.

In the clip above, from the Celebs on Facebook page (which Ripa is taking over for the weekend), she tries on every kind of gown, from fitted to flowing, Marchesa to Marc Jacobs. Her husband, Mark Consuelos, is on hand, too, to offer support in the form of comments like, “It’s very Princess Leia,” and “I’m a guy, I don’t understand high fashion.”

Kelly Ripa’s Dermatologist Tackles Skin Care Questions on SiriusXM

Curious about the redness around your nose, or the lines forming near your eyes? They’re not fun topics to talk about, but cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Fredric S. Brandt tackles them head-on in his new SiriusXM Satellite Radio Show, Ask Dr. Brandt.

“He’s very honest, very personable,” devotee Kelly Ripa told PEOPLE Monday night during a party in New York to celebrate the new show. “He doesn’t make you feel like an idiot. He just sort of addresses the issues that need to be addressed. And he’s fun!”

After working with Brandt “for years” on makeover segments for Live! with Regis and Kelly, Ripa started seeing him one-on-one to learn about bettering her skin. “I didn’t have a routine … I washed my face with soap,” she said. “He really sort of gave me an inside-out frame of mind in terms of beauty and taking care of myself. Once I’ve done the damage, he erases it with his miracle concoctions, lotions, potions, lasers and needles.”

Ovarian cancer is one of the world’s least-recognizable cancers, so why not choose two of the world’s most recognized stars to draw attention to the cause? Kim Kardashian and Kelly Ripa are teaming up for the second year in a row to publicize QVC Presents Super Saturday, a shopping event broadcast live from the Hamptons and featuring designer deals at up to 50 percent off. Proceeds from the sale, airing Saturday, July 30 at 2 p.m. ET, will benefit the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, a cause close to both women’s hearts. “With so many women affected by ovarian cancer each year, the importance for awareness is now more important than ever,” Kardashian said in a statement. “It’s truly a pleasure to work with Kelly to make sure that every woman knows the facts about this unrecognizable disease.” Super Saturday‘s broad reach — it used to be a sale just for celebrities — will raise awareness about the disease, and give shoppers access to great gets from Laura Geller, L’Oréal Paris, philosophy, Judith Ripka, Honora and more. “I am thrilled to be teaming up with Kim again to support such a wonderful cause,” Ripa added. “We always have a blast when we’re together and it’s great to be able to help spread the word about such an amazing event.” –Caroline Slutsky
