We’ve always been fans of finding great designer deals on Rent the Runway, and now, the site is bringing us some one-of-a-kind fashion in the form of its first-ever capsule collection.

Celeb-loved designer Narciso Rodriguez — who’s dressed the likes of Reese Witherspoon and Ashley Greene — created four pieces exclusively for the site, all reimagined versions of two gowns from his archives.

The “Cut Out ” gown (left), which rents for $400, channels the stunning red dress Jennifer Aniston wore on a 2008 cover of Vogue (a blue version is available as well). The “Tailor Made” gown and “Ivory Contrast” dress, which rent for $350 and $275, respectively, draw inspiration from a Rodriguez creation Kate Winslet wore to a New York gala in 2011.

The gowns retail for anywhere from $1,950 to $3,500, so the rental prices, while steep for the site, aren’t such a bad deal. Find them (plus more looks from Rodriguez) now on RenttheRunway.com.

For cynics who assume that all celebrity advertorials undergo extensive Photoshopping, check out this newly released image from Kate Winslet‘s spring campaign for St. John. Though the official version highlights the star’s face more than November’s sneak peek, it does not downplay her gorgeous curves.

“You don’t have to be a size 2, or even a size 4, to be able to wear these garments.,” Winslet gushes in a new video for the brand (below). “They fall so well and are cut for women with a shape. And of course I love that,” she says. “That’s me all over.”

Highlighting a pair of pleated trousers as an unlikely favorite, Winslet says that the reception of her continued ambassadorship for the brand has been “heartwarming.”

“A lot of women say they believe they could wear a particular dress or a pair of pants or a sweater because they have seen that I am able to wear those pieces,” she says warmly. “It is really important to be able to dress in clothes quickly that look effortless and feel comfortable.”

Hats off to Kate Winslet for making the act of giving that much more beautiful. After lending her voice to the documentary A Mother’s Courage: Talking Back to Autism, Winslet founded the Golden Hat Foundation, named after a featured poem of the same name.

“Lancôme has given me the strength to go all the way, and I know this will open many doors,” the brand ambassadress says of the company’s Golden Hat range. Comprised of holiday-ready luminous powders, moisture-rich lipsticks and five new shades of nail polish, the collection “is so stunning and gorgeous and perfect for now,” Winslet tells Stylelist. “I mean, the colors are really festive.”

Ranging from $15-$40, the products, which are embossed with the foundation’s signature hat, help to promote awareness for children afflicted with non-verbal autism. (The actress has also spearheaded a book initiative of the same name, which features a slew of celebs all wearing the same golden topper.)

Passionate about the cause, the star is also dedicated to the effects of proper skincare. “As you get older, I think it has to change all the time,” she says of her routine. “Based on the seasons, based on whether I’ve had enough sleep or not. What I particularly love about the [Lancôme] Renergie line is that it does actually work and it does right away.”

She has one of the most fabulous figures in Hollywood, but even Kate Winslet gets a little help looking slim sometimes. The star once again turned to Stella McCartney on Sunday, wearing a red-and-black version of the designer’s “miracle” dress (also known as the “Octavia,” $1595) to the Carnage premiere in Paris. The stretch cotton sheath is so nicknamed because its black side panels seriously flatter the figure.

Winslet has always been a fan of McCartney’s designs, wearing a sexy cut-out LBD to the Mildred Pierce premiere in March. But considering we rarely see her repeating dresses, it was surprising to see her in another of McCartney’s “miracle” dresses after wearing the original “Octavia” to the Venice Film Festival in September.

Liv Tyler and Lala Vazquez are also fans of the sheath, and Penélope Cruz wore a similar style to the Cannes Film Festival in May. The dresses are so popular, in fact, that knock-offs have popped up everywhere from ASOS.com to Topshop. “Usually when someone wears a dress no one else wants to wear it,” PEOPLE StyleWatch editor Kate Dimmock tells GMA. “This time around, people are willing to go there, because it’s that irresistible.”

She’s kept her day job: Kate Winslet is continuing as the face of St. John in the brand’s spring 2012 campaign.

“It has been a great experience working with St. John,” the actress said in a release. “I am very excited for this upcoming season — George [Sharp] and St. John have created wonderfully chic and effortless styles for the modern woman.”

The spring campaign features Winslet in St. John’s classic knits and a fitted dress. The photos were shot this week in a penthouse at New York’s Chelsea Arts Tower, a sharp contrast from the fall campaign, staged at a theater in New Jersey.

Winslet’s latest campaign will appear in magazines beginning in February, and a behind-the-scenes video will be available on discoverstjohn.com.

WOULD YOU WEAR THESE TRENDS?

Sunday night’s Emmy telecast had us seeing red — but not in a bad way! The night’s biggest stars arrived at the show in a slew of gorgeous gowns, ruling the red carpet in dramatic shades of scarlet. 

Glee‘s Lea Michele was among the first to set the trend in a bright Marchesa gown with embellished shoulders. Winner Kate Winslet followed suit, flaunting her famous curves in an Elie Saab dress. Red-hot Modern Family star Sofia Vergara went for a bombshell look with her dress (and makeup), slinking into the show in Vera Wang. Meanwhile, presenter Kerry Washington brought some sparkle to the Emmys in her Zuhair Murad gown, while Vampire Diaries actress Nina Dobrev stunned in her mermaid-style Donna Karan dress.

Kate Winslet has been busy working her sexy side as the new face of luxury knitwear brand St. John and as a special treat, the company has released a behind-the-scenes video from the shoot for the actress’s fall 2011 advertising campaign. In the clip above, shot at the historic Loew’s Theater in New Jersey, a sultry Winslet talks about wearing clothing that simply feels good — and looks good, too. “The clothes are cut beautifully, the fabrics are elegant, you can look extremely chic without trying too hard,” she says in the clip above. “You don’t feel that the clothes are something that only a model would be able to wear.” And with her own children to raise, Winslet said she feels inspired by fellow mothers and other women who give their all, one of the many reasons why she loves the ease of the brand. “The St. John collection is effortless and chic, and I think speaks to how real women live and dress today,” she shares in a statement. She embodies the modern sensibility of St. John, she is contemporary and authentically captures the style of the St. John woman.” The campaign will launch in September in magazines nationwide, but Winslet will also collaborate on “behind the scenes” vignettes for the brand’s website. Kate Winslet has bared it all for the cameras before, even coached others through the process. But the star explained recently just how photographer Mario Testino got her to strip down. “You know that his biggest strength without 
fail is making women look beautiful,” she said at the El Museo del Barrio gala Thursday evening in New York City, as she presented the celebrity favorite with an award honoring his career. “When Mario turns to you and says, ‘It’s beautiful, but I think it
 would work better naked, no?’ How can one refuse?” Winslet, who has talked openly about issues with her body, explained, “No matter what
 insecurities about oneself a subject may have, Mario makes them go away 
like a magician.” She continued, “One moment you are in the hair and makeup chair fully 
clothed and wishing you had smoother skin, longer legs and smaller feet and then Mario comes in and in that charming way he takes you by the
 hand and says, ‘Don’t worry it’s going to be amazing.’” Testino, who also shot the famed engagement portraits of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, says convincing Winslet was as easy as she claims. “I said to her, I want you to pose 
nude for this exhibition,” he said of the “Todo o Nada” exhibit that will open in Rome in July. “And she was like, ‘Oh, okay, Mario.’

When Kate Winslet visited a historic New Jersey movie theater last week, it wasn’t to catch a film; the actress was shooting her first campaign photos as the new face of St. John. The Oscar-winning star was recently tapped to front the American knitwear line — taking over for past models Angelina Jolie and Karen Elson — and did so in a glamorous setting, at Jersey City’s historic Loew’s Theater. “They want to keep it looking like me and not have it look like me pretending to be a model wearing these clothes,” Winslet told WWD the day of the shoot. “I’m obviously not a model. I’m not the size of a model. I don’t have the face of a model or the shape of a model.” What she does have, though, is the timeless beauty the brand was looking for. St. John is using Winslet to help evolve its image, adding looks like silk gowns, leopard print coats and woven pants — plus costume jewelry and handbags — to its usual collections of skirt suits. “To me, it’s fresher than that,” Winslet said. “It seems fresher than that because of the fabrics. They’re extremely delicate, extremely wearable and very flattering. She’s earning raves for her performance — and her period costumes — as a Depression-era single mom in the HBO mini-series Mildred Pierce, but you won’t see Kate Winslet wearing those on-screen outfits again anytime soon. “Under no circumstances,” she told StyleList when asked if she’d revisit her character’s wardrobe, which spanned the 1930s. Why the aversion to the clothes? Winslet’s co-star (and onscreen daughter) Evan Rachel Wood offered a clue: the film’s costume designer, Ann Roth, was a stickler for period detail, down to the restrictive undergarments. “It was uncomfortable. Oh, absolutely,” Wood said of the girdles and garter belts. “It was tight, it was hot, but you have to do it.” Despite the discomfort, Winslet said she really appreciated how much the clothes helped tell the story of Pierce’s life. “I loved watching each shape change … based on the period, but also based on Mildred’s success and her own sense of confidence and her own sense of style as well, which really does seem to develop.” Catch the next episode of Mildred Pierce at 9 p.m. Sunday on HBO. –Alex Apatoff

But I’ve stopped talking about it now. And, at a certain point, it does become hypocritical.” Now, at 35, the actress is into Pilates and running, “not very well, I might add,” but mainly keeps busy by raising her children, 10-year-old Mia and 7-year-old Joe. However, that doesn’t mean the mom can’t have some fun! It’s hard to imagine someone as gorgeous as Kate Winslet would ever consider plastic surgery — and for the record, she doesn’t plan to. “No, I have never tried any of that stuff,” she tells Glamour in the April issue. “I don’t have parts of my body that I hate or would like to trade for somebody else’s or wish I could surgically adjust into some fantasy version of what they are.” But the stunning actress, who tops Glamour‘s ’50 Most Glam’ list for the third year in a row, did have her body confidence tested when she was younger. “When I was heavy, people would say to me — and it was such a backhanded compliment — they would say, ‘You’ve got such a beautiful face’,” she recalls, “in the way of, like, ‘Oh isn’t it a shame that from the neck down you’re questionable.’ ” But now as a certified star, Winslet is happy to take her looks to extremes — when it comes to movie roles, that is. “I love it when a character requires me to look less than my red-carpet best,” she shares. “It’s more fun playing a character that requires you to look like dog s–t. Ever wondered what a successful male model buys his famous Hollywood actress girlfriend for her birthday? Well, if Louis Dowler is anything to go by, it’s luxe fashion all the way. For his girlfriend Kate Winslet‘s 35th birthday last month, he paid the Belstaff store in London a visit and came away with the perfect gift—one of their classic leather jackets. Store manager of the Mayfair boutique, Fabio de Matteis tells PEOPLE: “He wanted a special present for Kate and took his time looking at the whole collection.” After browsing the British brand’s iconic selection of leather jackets, shoes and accessories, he opted for the Triumph jacket, a fitted, belted style with stud detailing. And Dowler wasn’t shy when it came to gushing about the birthday girl. “He said how much Kate loved her motorcycle but she only had masculine things to wear on it, so he wanted to treat her to something more feminine.” Obviously, the jacket, which retails for more than $1,000, was a hit as Winslet has already been spotted working a new biker-chic look, accessorized with a smile and a certain model on her arm. While there remains no shortage of Hollywood starlets whose stick-thin frames continue to appear in magazines and on the red carpet, it seems now more than ever ordinary women are tiring of the look — and the possible extreme measures it takes to achieve that near-impossible standard. A recent survey, which polled 2,000 women aged 18 and over, found that stars with curvier, healthier figures were more desirable, reports the UK’s Daily Mail. Topping the desirability chart is Kate Winslet, followed by Halle Berry and Beyonce. Also making the list: Megan Fox and Lily Allen, while svelte Victoria Beckham and Kate Moss tie for last place. Kate Winslet might be the epitome of classic chic, but the British actress showed off her quirky side last week when she took to the red carpet toting a bespoke purse emblazoned with her very own initials. At the Bambi Film Awards in Germany, Winslet clutched a black Atelier Yves Saint Laurent by Stefano Pilati satin purse with “KW” embroidered in sparkling crystals. Worn with a classic black Collette Dinnigan dress featuring sequined shoulders and a sheer lace back, it seems the fun purse may have also been her lucky charm. The bespoke accessory was in fact a gift, given to the Oscar-winning actress by Pilati himself during award season earlier this year. Having won her Oscar in a Yves Saint Laurent dress, perhaps the actress thought her bag would bring her some magic. If so, she thought right! Rumors have been circulating that Kate Winslet is poised to play designer Vivienne Westwood in an upcoming biopic about the life of one of punk’s originators. And although Vogue.co.uk reported yesterday that Kate will take on the role, the Titanic star’s publicist tells PEOPLE that the rumors are “not at all true.” PEOPLE also spoke with Vivienne Westwood’s team, originally quoted in the British Vogue story, who denied the claim as well, telling us, “The script has not even been finished yet, let alone casting. Kate Winslet was just one of many names that were mentioned as possibles to play Vivienne, but this whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion.” Kate may not be stepping into the iconic designer’s towering platforms anytime soon, but we think that she’d make an interesting choice.
