Where Do You Go to Beat the Winter Blues?

Will Binns/James Breeden/Pacific Coast News

The cold weather and dreary days are making us itch for some warm temps and bright sun. But with so many vacation options, we’re having a hard time figuring out where to go. We could spend a relaxing few days off the coast of southern Italy, which seems to have done wonders for Mariah Carey. Or maybe we could lounge on a yacht on the French Riveria like Jay-Z and Beyonce. We’d love to hit the beaches of Hawaii like Kate Walsh and her husband or Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck. Who wouldn’t want to spend hours riding waves? But since we don’t have a big vacation budget, we’ll keep dreaming and make sure to save up for next year.Tell us: Where are you planning to go this winter? Are you taking any vacations?

Emmys Hair Trend: Pinned-Up Curls

Flynet; Mathew Imaging/FilmMagic

Some of television’s biggest stars got into a retro mood on the Emmy’s red carpet last night. Stars like Eva Longoria, Heidi Klum, Kate Walsh and Rebecca Romijn pinned their long locks up into sexy 1940′s-style curls. The style looks great with the vintage-inspired gowns that were a major fashion trend of the night. We loved how Eva’s ‘do showed off her toned back and Rebecca’s complimented her vintage Guy Laroche — but we can’t help but think Heidi and Kate may have taken the look a little too far. But, it’s still a great break from traditional updos! Tell us: Do you like this look? Would you try wearing pinned-up curls?

Kate Walsh Fetes her Facialist

Chris Weeks/WireImage

When facialist-to-the-stars Kate Somerville wanted to celebrate her new collaboration with The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire, she called on one of her favorite clients Kate Walsh to help her. The redhead, who giggled and grinned when she talked about her fiance, Alex Young, hosted last week’s poolside event, where guests, including Molly Sims and Marla Sokoloff, sipped on mojitos and champagne, nibbled on everything from gazpacho to ceviche, and indulged in hand massages. Walsh couldn’t help but enthuse about her favorite Kate Somerville product to PEOPLE, “Kate in a Jar — that would be it. First of all, it has my name! And secondly it’s just a really great scrub. It’s the best thing. If you just want to look great immediately you put this stuff on, leave it on for a minute and take it off.” But Molly Sims revealed the real reason that she loves her Kate Somerville facials and products, telling PEOPLE “we’re now shooting on HD so the skin and makeup become a big [deal]. You see e-very-thing.”
