Forget that first ex-boyfriend — Kate Walsh is on to bigger and better guys. The Private Practice star is trading up with her new fragrance, Billionaire Boyfriend, the second in her “Boyfriend” series of scents.

“The idea was always luxe,” Walsh tells PEOPLE. “It’s kind of a throwback to times when things were just sexy and romantic, and that fantasy of James Bond movies, Monte Carlo, driving down the coast in a sports car … la dolce vita.”

The fragrance mixes feminine and masculine notes of black jasmine amber, fruits of bergamot, tangerine, orchid, gardenia and sandalwood to create a super-rich scent. “It’s yummy,” Walsh says. “For people familiar with the original Boyfriend, they’ll recognize it in the bottom notes, but with the additions of a big, bad floral.”

Billionare Boyfriend comes with a fancy bottle, too, inspired by “a big magnum of Dom [Perignon],” Walsh says. “I wanted to have this bottle feel very old school, a nod to old-world Europe.”

The “webemercials” for the scent were just as cool to create: Walsh and her team filmed them over a long weekend at the Atlantis resort in the Bahamas. Someone’s feeling kinda groovy! Private Practice star Kate Walsh got in touch with her inner disco diva Saturday during a celebration for her fragrance, Boyfriend. The actress and pals — including T.R. Knight and Kevin McKidd (above, working cool costumes!) plus Katherine Heigl (below) — danced the night away at Walsh’s Los Angeles home, getting down to disco tunes spun by DJ Jordan Masterson. Guests sipped cocktails from 42 Below — with cheeky names like the Straw-Bowie Lemonade, Berry White and Studio 42 — and kept the dance floor funky all night. Office star Angela Kinsey and The Hangover‘s Rachael Harris even wore roller skates, and wheeled around the dance floor with polyester-clad friends like Zachary Quinto and Taye Diggs. Boyfriend, which launched on HSN in November and hit Sephora shelves in February, was inspired by a past love, Walsh told PEOPLE in October. “I missed his scent after we broke up and I was shopping one day and I was like, ‘I don’t need my boyfriend to have a boyfriend scent!’” The vanilla, amber and floral fragrance also has some of the woody and musky notes reminiscent of her first beau’s cologne, Ralph Lauren Polo. “Whether you have a boyfriend or not, it’s really that feeling of security, comfort and that good purr factor,” she said of the scent. “I wanted to tell a story with my perfume.” –Reporting by Jessica Wedemeyer

Private Practice star Kate Walsh has a new love in her life–but it’s not what you might be thinking. The actress has created a new signature scent called Boyfriend, which gives a nod to her dating past. “I was inspired by my boyfriend’s scent many years ago,” Walsh told PEOPLE at the Piven Theatre Workshop Annual Awards Brunch, hosted by Moët Ice Imperial at Sunda in Chicago on Sunday. “I missed his scent after we broke up and I was shopping one day and I was like, ‘I don’t need my boyfriend to have a boyfriend scent!’” So Walsh decided to take matters into her own hands. “I literally went to the perfume counter and got kind of a masculine scent and then I thought –ding ding!– what a great idea for a fragrance, the Boyfriend!” But Walsh wasn’t looking to do the traditional celebrity endorsement deal, and instead wanted to do something a little different.

“For me it’s all about the story,” said Walsh, “and I wanted to tell a story with my perfume.” The vanilla, amber and floral fragrance also has some of the woody and musky notes that Walsh said reminded her of her very first boyfriend’s cologne, Ralph Lauren Polo. “I remember going out in high school and coming home and smelling our clothes because the boys wore so much of it that our clothes would smell like it,” she said. “We would come home and smell that scent on our clothes and talk about boys all night; when you associate a smell with something, you have an immediate memory.” As for her dating life now, Walsh says she’s completely content. “I’m happy where I’m at,” she said. “I’ve been seeing someone for a while.” But she says being happy in life is not contingent on a relationship. “That’s one of the messages of [my perfume],” she said. “Whether you have a boyfriend or not, it’s really that feeling of security, comfort and that good purr factor, whether he’s in the picture or not.” Walsh’s perfume, Boyfriend, will launch on HSN November 11 and be available in Sephora stores in February. –Kim Peiffer

One of the benefits of being a Hollywood starlet is getting your hands on designer duds before they hit store racks. And the much-anticipated Jimmy Choo for H&M line is no exception. Clad in sparkling black and leather looks from the yet-to-be-seen collection, stars like Hayden Panettiere, Kate Walsh, Paris and Nicky Hilton, Whitney Port, Rashida Jones, Olivia Wilde, Diablo Cody and more celebrated the impending launch of the designer collaboration. “I wanted to create looks that women could go out to holiday parties, and events in,” Tamara Mellon, Jimmy Choo founder and president, tells PEOPLE at the party, which featured a performance by rapper M.I.A. “My aesthetic is to always have a rock and roll edge.” Though this line will come with a much lower price tag than the high fashion heels the brand is known for, Diablo Cody tells PEOPLE that the name still makes her think luxe. “I think about stilettos, I think about beautiful fabrics, and I think about money that I shouldn’t have spent,” says the Oscar-winning screenplay writer for Juno. From studded sandals and hot pink clutches to velvet tuxedo jackets and high-waisted leather leggings, it looks like Hollywood’s leading ladies are loving Jimmy Choo for H&M just as much as the luxury shoe line–and so are we! Looking at the Emmy Awards red carpet tonight, one might think that it was mid-summer with all the bright colors ruling the red carpet. West Hollywood’s Robertson Boulevard got one more celebrity-adored resident Thursday night: designer Phillip Lim. Although his store, 3.1 Phillip Lim, officially opens for business on Friday, Kate Walsh, Jennifer Morrison, Camilla Belle, and Emmy Rossum all browsed the boutique for something new — dressed in Phillip Lim, of course. “Phillip actually made it for me to wear tonight,” Belle told PEOPLE of her colorful, Grecian mini. “Young girls can wear him, older women can wear him — my mom has pieces she wears and she looks so cool in them. It’s very accessible.” Inside, Walsh checked out fall cardigans and Morrison chatted with friends while Lim paused proudly for a moment before working the crowd. “I just can’t wait to see my old buddies,” he told PEOPLE of being in Los Angeles. “They are all here. When facialist-to-the-stars Kate Somerville wanted to celebrate her new collaboration with The Spa at the Beverly Wilshire, she called on one of her favorite clients Kate Walsh to help her. The redhead, who giggled and grinned when she talked about her fiance, Alex Young, hosted last week’s poolside event, where guests, including Molly Sims and Marla Sokoloff, sipped on mojitos and champagne, nibbled on everything from gazpacho to ceviche, and indulged in hand massages. Walsh couldn’t help but enthuse about her favorite Kate Somerville product to PEOPLE, “Kate in a Jar — that would be it. First of all, it has my name! And secondly it’s just a really great scrub. It’s the best thing. If you just want to look great immediately you put this stuff on, leave it on for a minute and take it off.” But Molly Sims revealed the real reason that she loves her Kate Somerville facials and products, telling PEOPLE “we’re now shooting on HD so the skin and makeup become a big [deal]. We were surprised by the blunt bangs Kate Walsh sported to last week’s GLAAD awards, but amazingly, it turns out that the Grey’s star didn’t have them permanently cut! PEOPLE caught up with her at an Escada party in Beverly Hills a few days later where she told us that the bangs are actually “a piece.
