Kate Moss Rocks a Banging New Hairstyle: Love It or Hate It?

Richard Young/Startraks

Kate Moss got more than a few cameras flashing last night when she stepped out in London to celebrate pal Bryan Ferry’s new album, debuting some fabulous new fringe! According to InStyle.co.uk, the British supermodel’s rock-star hairstyle was the talk of the party—quite appropriately, since the style icon graces the cover of Ferry’s album, Olympia. Said Ferry to InStyle.co.uk: “I thought it would be a good idea to ask Kate, because she’s a great femme fatale of our era.” And while she’s undoubtedly one of the fashion world’s favorite darlings, with her choppy blonde locks and new blunt bangs, we couldn’t agree more that she’s also the ultimate rock ‘n’ roll album cover star! Tell us: What do you think about Kate’s brand new bangs? Do you love them or hate them? –Jessie Goldberg

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss and More Pay a Final Tribute to Alexander McQueen

London Fashion Week came to a solemn standstill on Monday morning as more than 1000 friends, family and colleagues paid tribute to the late designer Alexander McQueen during a memorial service at London’s St Paul’s Cathedral. Dressed in black, with hats and skyscraper heels as the dress code of choice, pals such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Stella McCartney gathered for the emotional hour-long service to remember the iconic British designer who tragically committed suicide seven months ago. Remembering his fashion legacy, the Reverend Canon Giles Fraser told the congregation: “We give thanks for his creative mind, his showmanship, and for his capacity to shock,” while also acknowledging his troubled past and reclusive nature, he said: “It was a life lived in the public gaze, but it was as vulnerable and retiring as it was glamorous.” The eulogies were led by Vogue‘s Anna Wintour, one of McQueen’s first employers. “She told a story about how he couldn’t do the job as it would mean he wouldn’t be able to get his dole [unemployment benefit] money,” one guest told PEOPLE, adding: “but she was quick to say how they always forgave him and how extraordinarily gifted he was.”

Kate Moss’s Vintage Bags Inspire Her Fall Longchamp Collection

Longchamp

When Kate Moss needed inspiration for her second collection of handbags for Longchamp, she looked no further than her own closet. “I had a couple of vintage bags from the ’70s that I picked up in second-hand shops in Florence and Marrakech,” the supermodel-turned-designer says in a release. “One of them had a patchwork design. I showed it to Sophie [Delafontaine, Longchamp's artistic director], and found out that at exactly the same time, Longchamp had been working with patchwork and lambskin.” Now, Moss is bringing back her unique vintage find in her much-anticipated fall collection for the French brand. And while the new deep hues are a departure from the soft neutrals of her first collection, we love the exotic jewel-tone patchwork and hippie-chic vibe of these new ads and bags. Kate Moss Reflects On Getting Older and Not Being A ‘Proper’ Fashion Designer

Courtesy Harper’s Bazaar

Not that Kate Moss needs any validation as a muse — nor as a pop culture icon — but the upcoming exhibition dedicated to the supermodel at Paris’s Musée des Arts Décoratifs in spring 2011 certainly dispels any doubts. Moss also appears on March’s cover of Harper’s Bazaar, and shares her reaction to the museum honor (“I just didn’t believe it,” she says) and on her growing reach as a fashion designer. Despite her success in the apparel business, the 36-year-old says, “I’m not really a fashion designer. I just love clothes. I’ve never been to design school. I can’t sketch. I can’t cut patterns and things. I can shorten things. I can make a dress out of a scarf.” As for designers she considers “proper,” Moss cites Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, and John Galliano. She also dishes on another of her fashion industry favorites, Peter Lindbergh, who shot her for her Bazaar’s cover, offering some insight into aging gracefully: “Peter is old-school. There aren’t many around like him anymore who really know how to take pictures. I’ve known him since I was 18 and worked with him for Bazaar. He’s into older women, and as I get older, it gets better.” Read the full interview with Kate and see more photos from her cover shoot at harpersbazaar.com.-Emily Hsieh

Liv Tyler On Playing Dress Up With Kate Moss and Stella McCartney

Courtesy ELLE

When your dearest pals are Kate Moss and Stella McCartney, who needs a stylist? Liv Tyler, who appears on the March cover of British Elle says she relies on her girlfriends when it comes to matters of the heart–and of the closet. For old-fashioned, girly gossip, she heads to McCartney’s house in the English countryside. “Once our kids are asleep it’s ‘grab the wine’, and talk turns to boys and husbands,” she says. When not dishing with Stella, the 32-year-old actress can be found in the equally glamorous company of buddy Kate Moss. “I love playing dress-up with her and her closet,” she says of her sartorially gifted friend. But nothing compares to spending time with her all time BFF: 5-year-old son Milo, whose recent birthday bash she cites as the best party ever, and what sounds like the most fun fitness routine ever: “Jumping on a bouncy castle has got to be the best exercise!” Look out for the March issue of British Elle on sale February 3. -Monique Jessen

Kate Moss Dishes On Her New Longchamp Line—and Her Favorite Place In The World

Courtesy Longchamp

Supermodel Kate Moss celebrated the launch of her new handbag range for Longchamp last night with a fete attended by 700 of her nearest and dearest (including rocker beau Jamie Hince, natch) at the swanky Ritz Club in Paris. In a video posted on longchamp.com Moss says, “I love handbags. I’ve got a huge collection. Girls just like handbags I think.” The party was tricked out with wall-to-wall zebra carpeting and zebra print wall coverings, a nod to the lining inside the purses in Moss’ new collection—which also served as the perfect backdrop for the 36-year old’s glamorous color-coded black lace Valentino cocktail dress and cropped white jacket. Of the venue Moss says, “The Ritz Club is like my old haunt. It’s always been one of my favorite places to come, really in the whole world. If I was to have a party anywhere it’d be here.” Photographs of Moss’ satchels were projected onto the walls of the club, in front of a crowd that included French Vogue editrix Carine Roitfeld and other fashion industry insiders in town for Paris Fashion Week. Through a statement, Moss chats more about her designs: “You know, for a day bag, I like a certain kind of shape, and I love a clutch that opens like an envelope, and is flat, and so on. That was our starting point, and at every stage I would add my own personal twist,” and adds that “For me, a great bag should be comfortable, and it should be light.” Look out for the bags to hit Longchamp boutiques and Bloomingdales’ flagship in N.Y.C. on February 11th.
