The dress code for the Brit Awards seemed to have been “sparkles and more sparkles,” but there was one very noteworthy non-complier: Kate Moss. And for a very cool reason: She was wearing one of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust tour costumes instead, to accept the star’s “Best British Male” award on his behalf.
As a photo of Bowie in his iconic rabbit costume from his 1972 tour flashed on the screen behind her, Moss strutted onstage after being introduced as “Bowie’s representative on earth” wearing the vintage look, which was was designed by Kansai Yamamoto and has appeared in London’s Victoria & Albert museum. Of course, Moss gave it her own twist, adding tights, sky-high heels and bangles, with no neon Ziggy Stardust mullet in sight.
