Leighton Meester, Kate Bosworth and More celebrate Chloe in Los Angeles

Andreas Branch/Patrick McMullan/Sipa

The new Chloe boutique in Los Angeles may be opening on Melrose Ave., but the celebration was so big, it had to be held at a Hollywood studio! Hosted by Kate Bosworth and Chloe Sevigny, both dressed in the French brand head-to-toe, the party brought out a bevy of celebs to Milk Studios on Thursday night, from Leighton Meester and beau Sebastian Stan to Molly Sims, Zoe Saldana, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Rachel Zoe and Bosworth’s model/boyfriend, James Rousseau. And why all the love for Chloe? “They have a lot of statement pieces, whether it’s a bag, or a blazer, there’s always a bit of flare and edge to everything,” Sigler told PEOPLE.com, herself dressed in a black blazer with a beaded lapel. But the line’s cut out dresses were the hit of the evening, seen on Saldana, Sevigny, and Meester. But for Meester, the decision was all about taking advantage of the warmer West Coast. “I’ve been in a perpetual winter for like an entire year in New York, so I was like I don’t care what it is I’m going backless, I’m going pantless, we’re doing it tonight! ” the Gossip Girl star enthused. And for Chloe fans in always-sunny L.A., that kind of summer-ready style is clearly something worth celebrating. - Shruti Dhalwala

Sarah Jessica Parker Braves the N.Y.C. Cold for Chanel

Despite the chilly New York temperature, stars like Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Bosworth, Kim Raver, Eve, Helena Christensen and more turned out to celebrate Chanel’s Mobile Art venture with designer Karl Lagerfeld situated in Central Park. The launch of the contemporary art exhibit, designed by architect Zaha Hadid, featured a star-studded guided tour through the park directed by legendary French actress Jeanne Morreau. Although the party took place outside, SJP and Kate didn’t let bulky overcoats ruin their beautiful Chanel dresses, which pleased the designer himself. “Those girls are really strong girls — they stayed there nearly naked though it was icy cold,” Lagerfeld told PEOPLE. “They didn’t care, they smiled, they laughed. I admire them because we [men] are cowards.” For SJP, it was just another part of the job. “I’m so accustomed to wearing little bits this time of year,” she told PEOPLE. “I did it for the last ten years of my life [namely playing Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City].” And while we’re no fans of the cold, freezing in the name of Chanel seems worth it. Shoe-Off: Kate Bosworth vs. Heidi Montag

Jean Baptiste Lacroix/WireImage; NPG

We’ve been seeing outrageous star fashions all over Hollywood recently. And when Kate Bosworth first stepped out in these funky Chloe wedges at the beginning of the month while promoting her new movie 21 we thought they were a little questionable. Kate, however, is known for pushing the fashion envelope and made them seem totally cool. Then this weekend, Heidi Montag followed in the fashionable star’s footsteps, sporting the $750 patent wedge booties while promoting her clothing line, Heidiwood, at Kitson in L.A. — and we can’t say we loved the look quite as much on her. The shoes somehow seem a little too “high-fashion” for the Hills star. But we want to know what you think. Tell us: Who rocks the designer heels better: Kate Bosworth or Heidi Montag? Would you wear them?

Kate Bosworth’s Very Lucky Purse

Jim Spellman/WireImage

As if starring in the number one movie in America with a hunky co-star isn’t enough, Kate Bosworth got an extra bit of good luck in the form of a gorgeous purse! Jeff Ma, the real-life inspiration for Jim Sturgess’s character in 21, became close friends with Kate over the filming of the movie and gave her a special good luck gift right before the film’s Vegas premiere — this Surly Girl “Malibu Day Bag”, made of hand stamped python. Now, most of us really would have to hit it big at blackjack to afford the bag’s $1050 price tag, but it looks like Kate’s already hit the jackpot! If you’ve got the chips, click here to get the bag for yourself at shopsurlygirl.com.

Would You Wear Horizontal Stripes Like Cameron Diaz?

jackson Lee/Ahmad Elatab/Splash new online

For years it’s been touted as the number one rule for dressing slimmer: avoid horizontal stripes. But stars all over size-obsessed Hollywood have been sporting it recently on shirts, tees — and even full dresses. Since we love the look on the celebs like Cameron Diaz, Jessica Biel and America Ferrera, featured in our new Stars in Stripes gallery, we’re really considering adding it to our spring wardrobe with a sailor shirt or two. But we want to know what you think! Tell us: Would you wear horizontal stripes?

Nothing Gets Between Kate Bosworth and Her Calvin Klein Jeans

David Sims

Kate Bosworth has gone from fashion plate to pin-up, as the latest cover girl for Calvin Klein Jeans. Announced yesterday, it’s the first global campaign for Bosworth, 25, who up until now has only modeled for Coach in China. The ads aim to feel “clean, pure and simple all-American,” said Malcolm Carfrae of Calvin Klein tells WWD. And despite the fact Bosworth is used to looking stunning on the red carpet, the starlet claims getting in front of the camera can be awkward. “It’s funny, I definitely feel much more uncomfortable modeling because it’s not something I know how to do,” Bosworth told Nylon Magazine. “When I act, I’m not aware of the camera; I’m just there with the actor in that moment. As a model, you’re very aware of the camera. What I enjoyed most about doing this campaign was finding and becoming a certain character. I think working with people like [photographer] David Sims and [stylist]Karl Templer, who want to find and shape that character, instead of simply capturing a pretty picture, is really exciting. So, this campaign was a little bit like an acting job in that way.” From what we’ve seen, we say it’s a job well done.

Stars and Their Fave Designers Heat Up 7th on Sale

Flashpoint / WENN

For last night’s 7th on Sale Black Tie Gala to benefit the CFDA-VOGUE Initiative for HIV/AIDS, Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour — along with co-chairs Diane von Furstenberg, Marc Jacobs, Ralph Lauren, Kenneth Cole and Top Shop — brought out the best of fashion, with everyone from Valentino to Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen to Kate Moss stopping by for dinner and a ton of major shopping. With donated designer goodies up for sale at heavily discounted prices — everything from Balenciaga bags to baby beds — the 69th Regiment Armory in New York filled with exquisitely dressed stars and their favorite fashion designers. Calvin Klein’s Francisco Costa raved of Ashley Olsen (in a clinging white gown by the designer), “She has the perfect body . . .she’s super-sexy.” And Gossip Girl Blake Lively confided of her stunning yellow gown that “Michael [Kors] was so involved. He told me which way to wear my cuff, with the owl facing outwards. Jack McCollough from Proenza Schouler escorted muse (and dessert chair) Kate Bosworth and told PEOPLE that “It’s good to dress friends . . . It’s easy,” while Kate demurred that she “was very lucky to wear it.” But not everyone brought their dress designer as their date — honorary chair Jennifer Connelly brought husband Paul Bettany who drolly remarked on shopping, “I live for it.” For those of us who really do live to shop, make sure to check out the selections from the event on eBay by clicking here.
