Four Lipstick Colors We’re Loving at Cannes

May/21/2013 at 09:00 AM ET

There might not be a lot of color on the clothes at Cannes, but the lipstick is a different story. Below, four colors that we think were real standouts on the red carpet at the film festival.

Zoë Saldana‘s rich, deep red was the perfect compliment to her steely topaz Valentino gown. The dewy finish kept the look youthful, which was key to making her whole look feel fresh.

Jessica Biel ordinarily loves a nude lip, but she broke out of her comfort zone to choose a deep rose that complemented the swath of pink in her Dior dress. Light eye makeup and a retro do really highlighted how much the girlie pink hue played up Biel’s famously full lips.

Kirsten Dunst also opted for a red lip for her big Cannes red carpet walk, though she opted for a much more ’50s-appropriate, Betty Draper-inspired look. Lined to perfection and elegantly matte, the bold color made her blue eyes pop.

And Marion Cotillard attended a daytime photocall with a soft, blush pink lip color that we’re dying to get our hands on. It looks fresh with her feminine bob — and an extra coat of gloss made the look nighttime-appropriate a little later.

Jessica Biel’s Met Gala Nose Ring: Should She Leave It In?

When we first saw Jessica Biel‘s outfit for the Met Gala, our first thought was that she belonged on our list of “Stars Who Punked Out.”

After all, her macramé Giambattista Valli Couture outfit was awfully sweet for such a tough-girl theme (Punk: Chaos to Couture).

But a closer look revealed that she added one bold accessory that took her look from princess to pretty punk: her delicate septum nose ring, which was the focus of a face with very little makeup.

We find it hard to believe that the wife of a former member of *NSYNC would go for a permanent nose piercing — though this would be the first we’re learning of clip-in septum jewelry — but it’s still a pretty bold statement from the star.

Style Rx: Jessica Biel’s Pants Are ‘Sheerly’ Unfortunate

Mar/15/2013 at 01:30 PM ET

Jessica Biel pantsSplash News Online

Who: Jessica Biel

Where: A “Suit and Tie”-themed birthday party for Timbaland in N.Y.C.

Diagnosis: There appears to be a contagious bug in Hollywood at the moment where female stars’ significant others are playing stylist — and doing these girls no favors (see: Kim Kardashian). Biel’s adjunct stylist Justin Timberlake may have told her these baggy crocheted trousers, worn with hot pants and a long coat, looked terrific, but a mirror might have informed her otherwise. (PS: Are tailors refusing to hem sheer pants these days?)

Prognosis: This case isn’t as severe as some we’ve seen; from the waist up, Biel looks terrific. Recovery can be achieved by immediately swapping these pants out for some gorgeous, glamorous and well-fitted black trousers that are hemmed to an appropriate length. And much like taking a full course of antibiotics, Biel should take the extra step of burying these pants in the backyard to make sure she’s fully cured.

Jessica Biel’s Married Style Is ‘More Confident,’ Says Her Stylist Estee Stanley (Plus: Stanley’s Oscar Scoop!)

Justin Timberlake has been getting lots of notice for his “Suit and Tie” style lately, but his new wife Jessica Biel has been making quite a fashionable impact herself these past few months.

And her longtime stylist and friend Estee Stanley credits a certain accessory for Biel’s noticeable confidence on the red carpet: her wedding ring.

“I definitely think any woman changes after [she gets] married,” Stanley tells PEOPLE. “I feel like she feels more secure and safe on the planet having found her partner.”

Biel, whom Stanley calls “the cutest,” says this security manifests itself in less behind-the-scenes fussing: “It’s not ‘should I do this or should I do this?’ It’s like ‘Okay, great!’” she says.

And we’ve certainly noticed: just check out how gorgeous Biel looked at the Grammys!

Biel isn’t planning an Oscar dress this year, but that doesn’t mean Stanley is off the hook. Clients Lea Michele and Minka Kelly are attending Sunday’s Vanity Fair afterparty, and while she’s tight-lipped about their looks, she does share her top pick for red carpet undergarments: “The Victoria’s Secret Fabulous Bra is incredible,” she shared at an event for the lingerie superstore in L.A. “You can wear it regular, one shoulder, racer back, strapless and it gives you the lift.”

Though she won’t even dish on which of those necklines we can expect from her clients, she made some general predictions for us. “I feel like there will be a lot of bigger dresses,” she says. “Fuller, with nothing underneath, like Oscar de la Renta last season.”

And like any stylist on a big night, she’s hoping things go smoothly, without incidents like one with Penélope Cruz a few years back. “She was nominated and the dress was not what we thought it was going to be. I lost my mind!” Stanley recalls. “We ran to [everyone] who had a dress left. Thank God Versace had a secret stash.” The result? “It was the most gorgeous dress I’ve ever seen.

We have a feeling we’ll be repeating those words about a few of her clients on Sunday.

Grammys’ Hottest Dates: The Dresses You Didn’t See

There were plenty of noteworthy dresses on the Grammy Awards red carpet Sunday night, however, three of our favorite looks belonged to supportive significant others who let their loves take the spotlight outside — but joined them indoors for the party.

Fun.’s biggest (and possibly most famous) fan, Lena Dunham, showed support for her boyfriend, the band’s guitarist Jack Antonoff, in a radiant yellow dress (worn with Forevermark diamonds) that could be seen even in long shots of the auditorium. She not only got to return the favor Antonoff paid by cheering her on at the Golden Globes, but she also got face time with her Twitter pal Taylor Swift.

We at PEOPLE StyleWatch spend a lot of time thinking about celebrity hair: how they maintain it, how they style it and how to fake it on our own heads. And we find that there are certain stars we keep coming back to time and again because their hair is just so darn healthy-looking.

Jessica Biel has mastered the art of long, loose waves. Jennifer Aniston‘s hair deserves its own ad campaign and autobiography. Zoë Saldana wins for glossiest, richest color. Sofia Vergara‘s tresses are thick and luxurious, and Blake Lively‘s lovely locks really speak for themselves.
