Are bangs the hottest hair accessory of 2012? Headbands aside, it sure seems that way. Jessica Biel is the latest star to try the trend, stepping with former 7th Heaven costar Beverly Mitchell on Sunday with a sleek new do.

Biel follows in the footsteps of Taylor Swift and Reese Witherspoon, both of whom cut bangs recently. Olivia Wilde and Cameron Diaz debuted side-swept styles, too, while Kim Kardashian tried clip-ons during a New Year’s bash. And we’re only through January! Jessica Biel Declares Love for Another Man: Designer Giambattista Valli

Jessica Biel canoodled with on-again beau Justin Timberlake earlier this week, but on Thursday at Fashion Group International’s Night of Stars, the solo star publicly declared her love for another man: designer Giambattista Valli. Or Giamba, as he is known to an inner circle which includes Biel, Sarah Jessica Parker and Princess Rania of Jordan, among others.

On the red carpet, Biel gushed about her Valli gown, an ethereal white dress with a metal leaf-like belt cinching her waist. “It’s just one of those dresses that probably looks incredible on everybody,” she told PEOPLE. “Isn’t it cool?”

However, not everybody will have the chance to wear it; Valli told PEOPLE that parts of the look were created “expressly for her.” Why the generosity? “She’s a very good friend, from the beginning of both our careers,” the designer said.

Her off-screen love life may be a mystery, but on the big screen, Jessica Biel is heating things up! The actress — and Revlon brand ambassador — seduces Pharrell Williams with her sensual eyes in a new commercial for the makeup brand’s Grow Luscious Plumping Mascara. The 60-second film noir-inspired clip, directed by Black Swan‘s Darren Aronofsky and featuring music by Williams, was shot entirely on black-and-white film. The spot, cheekily named “Hypnoteyzed,” will begin playing in movie theaters on June 13. Biel, who told The Hollywood Reporter that working with Aronofsky “was amazing,” looks beautiful all glammed up, but recently shared her low-key beauty secrets, too. Jessica Biel has the kind of radiant beauty that might make us more than just a little jealous (lest we forget ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake ruminating on her “green eyes, big, pouty lips, fair skin…”), but lucky for us, she’s willing to share tricks of the trade. Regarding her luminous skin, “One piece of advice was from my friend’s beautiful French mother who literally only ever washed her face with Dove soap and water,” she tells bellasugar.com. “So I’ve heard that bit of beauty advice, and then of course — sleep, water, hydrate!” In addition to a bargain beauty bar, Biel also swears by graduating makeup throughout the day. “I like to be practical and to wear something that’s not going to fade so I can go to a business meeting and still look professional but not over the top,” she extols. “And then when I’m going out at night, what I like to do lately is a smudged line right under the eye and right along the lash line.” And though the 29-year-old acknowledges her upcoming milestone 30th birthday, “I’ve definitely started to think about it,” she says, drastic measures are not yet part of the plan. “I’m a bit of a ‘fraidy cat when it comes to anything really aggressive.” Tell us: What are your best beauty tricks and tips? –Justine Harman

It looks like Hollywood stylistas are suiting themselves–literally! Yesterday we asked if you would wear a suit and tie like Leighton Meester did to the Gotham Independent Film Awards. And while our respondents were split down the middle on the trend, A-listers like Winona Ryder, Jessica Alba and Halle Berry, are clearly giving the look a sartorial thumbs up. Ryder, who has dabbled in menswear before, upped the ante last night, arriving at the N.Y.C. premiere of Black Swan in a tuxedo jacket, black oxford, slacks and a blinged-out lariat necklace, while Alba ditched the feminine frocks in favor of a fitted Dolce & Gabbana blazer, and slouch trousers for Footwear News’ 24^th annual Achievement Awards. Rounding out Tuesday night’s trifecta was Halle Berry, who selected a jacquard black and gold ’70s-inspired look with a plunging sparkly blouse—all by Balmain. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, menswear is definitely a fall wardrobe staple, but we usually reserve the full-on look for interviews.
