Jessica Alba Sees Her Post-Baby Body as ‘Saggy’

Courtesy GQ

She’s regularly fêted as one of the world’s most beautiful actresses—but mother-of-one Jessica Alba still sees the flaws in her body. And she’s happy with it. Two years after giving birth to daughter Honor, the Machete star tells the U.K. edition of GQ that there is something “amazing” about having a child. “My breasts are saggy, I’ve got cellulite, my hips are bigger, but I love it,” she proudly says in the November issue. And the 29-year-old feels inferior to many of her fellow female stars in the beauty stakes. She name-checks other leading ladies like Natalie Portman, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Lopez, Halle Berry, Scarlett Johansson, Jennifer Garner and Beyoncé. “Every actress out there is more beautiful than me,” she tells the magazine. “All better looking than me. I’ve seen them without makeup, so I know.” The cover article comes complete with a swimsuit shoot that plays up her slender legs, and she says that having Honor has helped her confidence. She is “way more comfortable since I had a baby. I’m far less self-conscious now that I have her to worry about.” But the actress says she wasn’t always so happy to show off her body. “I used to have anxiety attacks before I did the photo shoots. I’d never worn high heels to even dresses before I did movies,” she says. And she vows not to succumb to that other product of the entertainment industry—cosmetic surgery. “I hate the idea of trying to freeze time. I believe in growing old as nature intended and, if the movie roles dry up as a result, then so be it.” — Simon Perry

Jessica! Blake! Leighton! Which Star Rocked the Most Chic Chanel Look?

AP, Abaca, Getty

The Chanel haute couture show in Paris Tuesday night was nothing short of spectacular–from the enormous golden lion that anchored the stage to the oversized pearl that the models emerged from. Perhaps the only thing that fashion fans were more excited to see than the fall/winter 2011 couture pieces designed by Karl Lagerfeld coming down the runway, were the ultra-chic Chanel ensembles gracing the A-list beauties in the front row. And trendsetters Jessica Alba, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester did not disappoint, each rocking her own unique take on the French fashion house’s finest. Alba opted for a sweeter design, hitting the show in a belted white cotton dress from the current spring/summer ready-to-wear collection. Lively stuck to her bohemian glam, gracing the front row in a pretty printed frock from the cruise 2011 collection. Meester, on the other hand, tapped into the house’s dark side in a tough leather dress with gold tweed embroidery from the Paris Shanghai capsule collection. We love how each of the three very different looks, proving that Chanel is a so much more than classic tweed suits. Tell us: Who do you think rocked the most chic Chanel look: Jessica Alba, Blake Lively or Leighton Meester? Vote!

Jessica Alba’s Beauty Routine: For Real-Life and the Red Carpet

Steve Granitz/WireImage

With her natural beauty and spot-on sense of style, one wouldn’t think that Jessica Alba would have much need for makeup, but it turns out the 29-year-old actress is a bit of a beauty junkie. In the July issue of British magazine Company, the star reveals that she was sporting a full face of makeup at the tender age of 10, thanks to her mother. “She was going to cosmetology school and she needed a model to practice on!” explains Alba. “[It was] for the swim team picture — full on winged eyeliner, the works.” So it seems fitting that the stunning actress would go on to become a brand ambassador for Revlon, whose products, of course, anchor the star’s off-duty makeup routine: “Concealer, Revlon’s cream blush and a light tinted base or moisturizer,” she dishes. And when it comes time to dress up her look for the red-carpet, the new mom says it’s all about dark lipstick, mascara and eyeliner. “That’s my thing–a dark lip!” As for the differences between L.A. girls and London ladies? “London’s definitely a bit more fashion-forward than LA!” she reveals. “I like London’s style–it’s edgy, urban…The girls are very cool here.” For more on Jessica, pick up the July issue of Company or visit Company.com –Gillian Koenig

All-American brand the Gap may have hosted last night’s Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, but there wasn’t one pair of jeans in sight on the glamorous red carpet. The brand teamed up with some of the country’s most coveted young designers to get Hollywood A-listers like Jessica Alba, Kerry Washington and Kirsten Dunst glam. “I quickly realized that Gap should not make dresses for the Met,” Gap Executive Vice President of Global Design Patrick Robinson told PEOPLE on his decision to not turn dressmaker. “That’s not what we do, but I had the opportunity to meet some of the most amazing talent in the world today like Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Sophie Theallet and Thakoon,” he added. “The collaboration wasn’t me going to them and saying ‘I want you to make dresses for Gap.’ It was really ‘I want you to make dresses for these women that we’re all going to talk about and work on but I want you to express yourself and express what your brand is about.’” Jessica Alba, who has worn every label from Gucci to Marchesa, was proud to embody the American Woman in her Sophie Theallet for Gap dress. “I love that Gap is working with amazing designers like Sophie Theallet and applaud their efforts to make chic fashion affordable and accessible,” said the star. Washington, who donned a red-hot dress by Thakoon for Gap, furthered Alba’s sentiment on taking the brand to a glamorous level gushing, “The gown combines my love for Thakoon’s unique vision for the whimsical with Gap’s all-American cool.” While Jessica, Kerry and Kirsten’s (Rodarte for Gap) dresses won’t be making their way to a Gap near you, beginning today until May 31, you can bid on all the stars’ designer Gap gowns at gap.com/gownauction. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to The Met in support of The Costume Institute. Tell us: Who was your favorite at last night’s party?Andrea DeSimone; reporting by Jeffrey Slonim
