With those sculpted limbs, an army of LBDs and gleaming locks, Jennifer Aniston is timeless — and logic defying.

“I don’t feel my age,” she says in the March issue of InStyle. “I feel young every day. It’s in the spirit.”

Crediting cardio, a balanced diet and an arsenal of must-have products for her looks, the Wanderlust star confesses she is a creature of habit. “On the red carpet, it’s time for me to start doing something different,” she says. “I play it very safe because I just want to be comfortable … if I could wear a jersey tank that went down to the floor, I would.”

The natural brunette is also considering ditching the golden hue that has become her trademark. “I’ve been thinking about dyeing my hair a dark brown,” she says. “I feel it would be healthier.”

But while she approaches beauty with a seasoned pragmatism, Aniston says boyfriend Justin Theroux‘s convictions do not affect her own. ”He has great style,” she confesses. “It’s very specific, and it has been his style forever. WEIGH IN ON MORE RED CARPET STYLE IN ‘LAST NIGHT’S LOOK: HIT OR MISS?’

Jennifer Aniston, who’s said she was a “dumpy teenager,” tells InStyle that it took “years of peeling back the onion to finally stop using makeup as a mask and feel comfortable in my own skin.” But that doesn’t mean the ever-gorgeous actress has shunned makeup entirely.

Discussing her favorite products, Aniston tells the magazine that Estée Lauder’s Automatic Lip Pencil Duo in fig (top left) can be mixed with “anything. I’ve used this … for god knows how many years,” she shares.

Also key is bronzer; the actress uses Chanel Moisturizing Bronzing Powder in terre amber (bottom right) to brighten her cheeks. “I like that it’s more brown, with twinkles in it,” she explains.

There were shags and bobs, bangs and pixies, and all sorts of crazy new looks in 2011. It seems that most stars wanted a change this year, and many of them made one — in the form of a big haircut.

Katherine Heigl freshened her look in March with a close cut (and new color). And of course there was the haircut heard ’round the world — Jennifer Aniston‘s February chop! Model Brooklyn Decker let her stylist take a whopping 10 inches off of her long blonde locks, while Evan Rachel Wood debuted a flattering short cut that took her into summer.

Of course there was Vanessa Hudgens, who went super-short for a role and later flirted with extensions. And don’t forget Julianne Hough, who, after going from blonde to brunette to blonde, took a few inches off of her do. Jennifer Aniston thanks her Greek genes for her cool California glow, but the actress admits she’s starting to see a few negative effects from her years of sun worshiping.

“I’ve started getting those little sun spots,” she tells InStyle. “Things are beginning to pop out. Even the texture [of my skin] is changing. So I’ve recently started zapping the spots and getting spray tans whenever I can. And I’ve graduated to using SPF 60 sunblock when I’m on the beach.”

She quickly dispels any rumors of cosmetic enhancements, however. “People think that I do a lot of injections, but I don’t,” she states. “I’m not saying that I haven’t tried it … but I see how it’s a slippery slope.” Still, she plans to stay away for the time being. “All that cosmetic stuff looks ridiculous on me,” she shares.

Revealing that she tints her eyelashes every three weeks (“I hate wearing mascara,” she says) and that she used to keep scissors in her car’s glove compartment to trim split ends (“It was a weird tic,” she admits), the star says she wasn’t always confident about her looks.

“I was a dumpy teenager,” she shares. “My mom was a model and was all about looks, so I rebelled by going goth. It took me years of peeling back the onion to finally stop using makeup as a mask and feel comfortable in my skin.”

But these days, the “Sexiest Woman of All Time” takes comments on her looks in stride.

“I quit smoking a few months ago and I put on a couple of pounds,” she says. “Normally I’d be like, ‘Oh my god, I gained weight! Everyone is going to think I’m pregnant!’” Not anymore. “Now,” she says, “I just don’t care.” For more with Aniston, pick up the January InStyle, on newsstands now.

STUDY UP ON STAR-TESTED BEAUTY TIPS AND TRICKS

When Jennifer Aniston showed up to Monday night’s New York premiere of Five, we assumed the Dolce & Gabbana pantsuit she wore to January’s People’s Choice Awards had been repurposed.

However, upon closer inspection, the megastar, who once said she would wear a bathing suit “for as many years as the strings still tie,” was wearing a very similar – but slightly different! — vest ensemble.

Nearly imperceptible differences in the Dolce suits include tailored darts, nominally different pockets, covered buttons and oh yeah, a peek-a-boo corset.
