Is Taylor Swift's Style Contagious?

Taylor Swift seems to have a major influence over her friends — when it comes to clothes, at least.

She was spotted near her new home in Rhode Island having a friend date with pals including Hailee Steinfeld, and we couldn’t help but notice that the two looked like they may have coordinated outfits. From their classic sunglasses to their collared shirts and sweaters to their retro-chic shorts (Steinfeld’s are Ann Taylor) the young stars had us doing double-takes.

And we had to wonder: Does Taylor Swift’s fashion sense rub off on all her famous friends? She has noted that her style is ever-evolving, so we took a look back at some of her other celeb bestie photo ops to see if she had the same twin effect on her other pals.

Our conclusion from the photos below: It sure looks like it! From her coordinating floral sundresses with Dianna Agron, to her black-and-white girls’ night out ensembles with Selena Gomez, to even going short and sparkly while striking a pose with Emma Stone, Swift either picks pals with the same fashion sensibilities as herself, or she is the most persuasive shopping buddy there is.

She’s all of 14 years old, but Hailee Steinfeld is already more fashion-forward than many of her peers, thanks to her latest gig as the face of Miu Miu.

“Just going from about a year-and-a-half ago, when I was doing the press for True Grit and the awards circuit and learning about the different designers and getting to wear them, and having Miu Miu be one of my favorites — then having something like [the campaign] come along was really huge for me,” Steinfeld tells Fashionista.com. “It’s been an honor.”

The Oscar nominee — who designed her own dress for the big ceremony — did some print modeling in her younger days, and felt right at home behind the camera when working with photographer Bruce Weber. “It has been so much fun,” she says. “I have had such a blast getting to know everyone that works with the brand.”

Hailee Steinfeld's Miu Miu Deal 'Feels Appropriate'

Hailee Steinfeld proved she was confident with her place in the fashion world when she inked a deal as the new face of Miu Miu, and though she’s only 14 years old, the actress, who has been known to wear a slew of top designers on the red carpet, says her work with the brand suits her (and the Miu Miu audience) quite well. “Honestly I think the best part about this collection and the campaign is the fact that it’s so sophisticated — it’s timeless,” she recently told Fashionista.com. “And I think for younger girls like me it works. It feels appropriate.” And as for how she felt about transitioning from actress to model for the campaign? It was a breeze for the True Grit star! “It’s kind of funny because when I was younger I did a lot of print and then I went more into acting so I had a little déjà vu when I went back to it, doing the whole modeling thing again,” she said. “I had such an amazing time filming, especially working with Bruce Weber.” Steinfeld joins a crop of young new stars who are also lending their fashionable faces to designer campaigns, like 13-year-old Elle Fanning, who was recently announced as the new face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. –Kim Peiffer
