Gwyneth Paltrow Teams Up with Luxe Watchmaker Baume & Mercier

Gwyneth Paltrow Baume Mercier AFF-USA

Watch out, Gwyneth Paltrow‘s got a new project in the works! The multi-talented actress, who most recently sang and danced her way into our hearts guest starring on Glee, is now pairing up with storied Swiss watchmaker Baume & Mercier, reports WWD. As the 180-year-old company’s newest brand ambassador – or “friend of the brand” as the company prefers calling her – Paltrow will engage in “communication projects,” kicking off the SIHH watch fair cocktail party in Geneva later this month, but she won’t be lending her face to any ad campaigns. Despite the company’s Swiss roots, the rebranding strategy includes aligning its new image with the Hamptons, the name of a watch that will relaunch this fall—as well as the tony New York resort town where Paltrow is known to spend time. “Our positioning remains as a brand that offers high-quality products with a beautiful design,” CEO Alain Zimmermann told WWD. Past ambassadors include fellow actresses like Meg Ryan, Kim Basinger, Teri Hatcher and Evangeline Lilly. With a lifestyle maven like Gwyneth at the helm, we have a feeling Baume & Mercier will get the lift it’s looking for in no time! – Hana Choi

Watch out, Blake Lively! It looks like there’s another leggy blonde costar who has captured Leighton Meester‘s attention. The Gossip Girl actress, who appears alongside Gwyneth Paltrow in her latest film, Country Strong, seems to have developed a slight girl crush on the older actress-turned-country singer. “She’s gorgeous without any makeup on and she comes to set at 5 a.m. looking really hot which is really great,” Leighton tells InStyle of Gwyneth’s off-screen appeal. “She’s super down-to-earth and makes dirty jokes. She’s just a cool chick.” And that’s not the only on-set secret that Leighton dished on. The stylish star, who gets back to her Texas roots as a beauty queen-turned-singer in Country Strong, plays a neurotic college girl in The Roommate, and gets to slink into some of fashion’s most coveted labels as Blair Waldorf on Gossip Girl, reveals that the mean girl roles get the best outfits. “In The Roommate, I play a little over-the-edge bad girl and she has a pretty good wardrobe,” she tells the publication. Gwyneth Paltrow’s Holiday ‘Goop’ Gift Guide!

Gwyneth Paltrow's 'Goop' Gift Guide!
John Shearer/WireImage

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s weekly newsletter Goop.com has always been a chic source of well-informed ideas for the savvy shopper, so it only makes sense that the actress-turned-singer would get into the holiday spirit by curating her own gift guide. “Anything personally made for you always trumps other gifts because of the thought and organization put into it,” Gwyneth writes. Her selection includes eclectic finds like customized holiday cards from Cocodot.com and trinkets from Vicente Agor, a San Francisco-based jeweler, who (for $310 and up), will turn a profile picture of your loved ones into one-of-a-kind pair of earrings. And if picking family favorites is too hard, Gwyneth encourages readers to represent their hometown glory with Tophdaddy‘s uber-hip area code T-shirts ($18 to $60). For the frequent traveler she recommends Abernathy Road‘s handsome assortment of leather goods, which includes an iPhone pocket journal ($372), and perfectly rugged duffel bags. However, Gwyneth’s personal go-to luggage? The monogrammed Louis Vuitton Pegase suitcase, of course. Gwyneth Paltrow Tortured by Her Lanvin Stilettos!

Norman Scott/Startracks; Inset: FilmMagic

Gwyneth Paltrow may be excited and nervous to sing at Wednesday’s Country Music Awards, but what she felt on the red carpet Monday night at the Country Strong premiere was purely physical. “I’m in pain,” she told PEOPLE. And the actress wasn’t talking about the 20 pounds that she gained—and quickly lost!—for the role, but her black mesh Lanvin stilettos! “I feel like I’m in a torture vice,” she revealed to PEOPLE of the sky-high heels, which she paired with a black Chado Ralph Rucci dress. But Paltrow, who landed in Nashville Monday morning to rehearse for her performance at the CMA’s, isn’t the only A-lister to don the chic Lanvin pumps from the label’s spring 2011 runway collection: Just one day earlier, Rachel McAdams braved the red carpet in the same studded heels at the Morning Glory premiere in N.Y.C. And when not busy suffering for fashion, Gwyneth’s been blogging about some of her favorite spots to shop and eat in the country music capital—even if she doesn’t get a chance to visit them this week. “I don’t think I’m going to have time this trip. They’re working me hard,” said the stylish star, who made her country singing debut in the movie. So is there more country music in store for the fashionista? “I’m not sure. I’m open. We’ll see what happens!” — Wendy Grossman

There is ‘No Way’ Gwyneth Paltrow Is Dieting

Timms/XPosure

When it comes to her enviable figure, Gwyneth Paltrow makes no secret of how she whips herself into A-List shape: Celebrity trainer and business partner Tracy Anderson. But does the actress’s regimen include starving herself? Absolutely not, says Anderson. “Gwyneth Paltrow will not diet,” the fitness guru told PEOPLE after leading a grueling three-hour workout session as part of an ALS in the Hamptons this weekend, sponsored by Neuro Drinks. “The woman loves her bread and loves her stinky cheese, and there is no way she’s dieting,” said Anderson, who credits Gwyn’s ever-svelte physique to hard work. “That’s why, when she found [my program] 4 years ago, she became my partner and such an advocate of it, because it works for her and she can look long and lean and she can eat . . . like me.” For her latest role in Country Strong, Paltrow also had to learn how to dance–with a little help from Anderson, of course. “Before I started working with her, Gwyneth had two left feet. She couldn’t dance at all . . . now she’s kind of a rock star.” –Jeffrey Slonim

Michael Kors on Date Gwyneth Paltrow: “More and More Beautiful”

Ariel Ramerez/Landov

Michael Kors may have received the Lifetime Achievement Award last night at the CFDA Awards at New York City’s Lincoln Center, but he created the most buzz in the room with his date for the evening — a dazzling Gwyneth Paltrow clad in a sparkling one-shoulder black dress with sexy geometric cut outs made just for her. “Yes, we custom made the dress for Gwyneth tonight. One fitting,” Kors told PEOPLE. “My favorite thing is a woman who knows what works for her. Comfortable in her own skin. She wanted to be glamorous and comfortable.” And Paltrow looked not just comfy, but like she was having a great time as she ordered herself a martini with three olives at the bar. “I’ve known Gwyneth for a long time,” Kors told PEOPLE backstage after accepting his award. “She gets more and more beautiful. She’s a woman who can juggle everything and do it all beautifully, perform onstage and screen, a great mom, great wife, great business woman.. .. and she’s curious.” And did we mention glamorous in that gown? – Melissa Liebling-Goldberg; Reporting by Jeffrey Slonim
