Chris Martin is a lucky man! The Coldplay rocker’s leading ladies — collaborator Rihanna and wife Gwyneth Paltrow — paused for a hot shot Sunday night while backstage at the Grammy Awards, showing off their slim figures and similar, slinky gowns. Rihanna worked the room in custom Giorgio Armani (she’s currently a face of the designer’s denim and underwear lines), while Paltrow wowed in a long black number with a solid gold belt.

Later in the night, Rihanna joined Martin and his bandmates for a medley of her “We Found Love” and their “Princess of China” and “Paradise.” Rocking leather shorts and a crop top — plus her new blonde do — the singer got the excitable crowd going. Meanwhile, Paltrow introduced the night’s big winner, Adele, before the beloved Brit took to the stage for a highly praised rendition of “Rolling in the Deep.”

Rihanna and Paltrow were among the night’s few style standouts; Adele and Carrie Underwood were both red carpet winners, too, though many stars failed to impress (or shock) this time around. Though Nicki Minaj’s slightly sacrilegious look drew mild criticism, no one seemed to go too crazy this year — not even Lady Gaga (and that’s saying a lot). She’s been quite candid about the work she’s put into maintaining her fabulous figure, and Gwyneth Paltrow is happy to get frank on the subject of aging, too. “I’ll take my wrinkles,” she admits in March’s revamped Harper’s Bazaar. “I don’t like the Botox thing.”

What she does like? In addition to her husband and children — whom she opens up about in the issue — simply food. “I eat whatever I want,” she says. “I like bread and cheese and wine, and that makes my life fun and enjoyable.” But it’s not always about indulgence; the cookbook author often goes on detoxes to restart her system, and even sells a cleanse on her goop.com website.

Perhaps that’s how she’s always fit into gorgeous designer dresses, from her glimmering Elie Saab and short Stella McCartney to her tummy-baring Emilio Pucci and the infamous Alexander McQueen, worn to the 2002 Oscars. “I loved it,” she says of the controversial gown. “But I think the hair was a mistake. Hollywood’s A-list can’t seem to get enough of Stella McCartney’s funky spring collection.

At Thursday’s Swarovski Crystallized Unsigned Model Search Event in London, Helena Christensen (right) added intrigue to a patterned shift with striped, blue tights and a neon-green purse. Previous supporters of the unusual frocks include Charlize Theron, who selected a one-shouldered mini for the L.A. premiere of Young Adult, Gwyneth Paltrow, who celebrated Coach’s 70th anniversary in a one-sleeved version and Nicole Kidman, who sported a burgundy column at the Country Music Awards.

Apparently, the public doesn’t find just one star sexy enough. British beauty site FeelUnique.com recently ran a poll to find the world’s “Ultimate Celebrity” — a woman who has the best traits from some of the world’s most beautiful women — and created this mash-up using the most popular elements of today’s hottest stars.

According to the results, the Ultimate Celebrity has the glossy brunette locks of the Duchess of Cambridge, the eyebrows of Megan Fox, the eyes of X Factor judge Cheryl Cole and the nose of Kate Beckinsale.

For her cheekbones, voters preferred those of Keira Knightley; her lips are those of Angelina Jolie and her chin is borrowed from Gwyneth Paltrow. For the ideal chest, voters selected Kelly Brook (link slightly NSFW), a British model-actress and former Playboy pin-up.

FeelUnique.com likens the outcome to “Angelina’s long-lost sister,” though we could see her fitting in with the Kardashians, as well. Then again, the whole thing is feeling a little S1m0ne to us. Tell us: What do you think of the “Ultimate Celebrity”? Whose elements would you use to create the perfect woman?

“Believe it or not, I am terrible at doing my own makeup,” Gwyneth Paltrow admits in her latest issue of GOOP. “I’m decent at doing it for a friend, but when it comes to my own face, I never get it right.” So to help herself — and all her loyal readers — Paltrow asked her London-based makeup artist Emma Lovell to provide a how-to on daytime and nighttime makeup.

Using Paltrow’s friend Kate Skrype as a model, Lovell starts by cleaning Skrype’s face with cleansing water and cotton pads. “It’s important to take good care of your skin by cleaning and moisturizing,” Paltrow shares. “These are vital steps that yield the best final results.”

After blending moisturizer into Skrype’s skin, Lovell starts with Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation, layers Jemma Kidd Wrinkle Rescue Serum and Brightener under the eyes and curls Skrype’s lashes using the EF|Studio Precision Lash Curler. “This is Emma’s one ‘don’t leave the house without it’ must,” Paltrow says. “Always, always curl your lashes. As Emma says, it wakes up your face.”

Lovell continues with eye shadow and mascara, and fills in Skrype’s eyebrows, too. She finishes with cheeks and lips, then dusts her model’s forehead, nose and chin with light powder for a finishing touch.

For nighttime, Lovell pumps up Skrype’s look with eyeliner, additional mascara, a darker lip and shimmering cheeks — all techniques she used on Paltrow during the Venice Film Festival, when she only had 20 minutes to make her client look fab.

We know how she got that rockin’ bikini body, but how does Gwyneth Paltrow maintain her outer glow?

“For me, sleep is a major thing,” she said Saturday during an appearance on Ask Dr. Brandt on Sirius XM Radio. “I don’t always get it, and when I don’t, I look like I’ve been hit by a truck.”

Other beauty secrets Paltrow lives by include drinking lots of water, taking vitamins “religiously” and having at least one cup of coffee — with almond milk — each morning. She follows that with a glass of homemade green juice, consisting of kale and her favorite farmer’s market goodies, and eats a lean protein with veggies for lunch. But she allows herself to cheat once in a while.
“Dinner is where I really go off the rails,” she admitted, saying that when she eats out she indulges in French fries and red wine. But at home, she cooks healthfully for her family, and tries to avoid gluten and dairy.

Another way the mom of two stays on top of her health? By detoxing twice per year. Paltrow said she’s a fan of the Clean Program, an elimination diet that lasts for three weeks and allows a daily lunch. “I find it very rejuvenating,” she said. “It’s like being high.” In between detoxes, she sometimes picks up a five-day juice fast, too.

To round out her wellness plan, Paltrow sticks to workouts with her trainer, Tracy Anderson. And with a near-nude scene coming up in her new film, Thanks for Sharing, the actress is feeling more confident than ever. “Now, I’m my own body double,” she boasted.

Not only does Gwyneth Paltrow know how to turn heads in her itsy bitsy bikinis, but she’s a pro when it comes to knowing what to bring with her to the beach, too. Spring has sprung — heck, Memorial Day is about a week away — so needless to say, we’re excited for some fresh new warm-weather wardrobe pieces for spring. Gwyneth Paltrow is taking over the world, one genre at a time! The actress, cookbook author and singer is making room on her plate for a more stylish gig: she’s the new brand ambassador for Coach. The star will appear in ads for the brand’s international fall 2011 and spring 2012 campaigns, in celebration of Coach’s 70th anniversary. The pictorals, shot on a Manhattan rooftop by photographer Peter Lindbergh, will roll out in September in European and Asian markets. “I’ll never forget getting my first Coach bag,” Paltrow said in a release. “I grew up in New York City and I’ve always thought of Coach as the quintessential New York brand. I’m so proud to be part of their 70th anniversary celebration.” This isn’t the first time Paltrow has used her famous face for fashion: she’s been featured in past campaigns for Baume & Mercier watches and Tod’s. Though she admits to loving food — and eating lots of it, too — Gwyneth Paltrow happily flaunts her fabulous bikini body on the May cover of SELF. In an interview about her new cookbook, My Father’s Daughter: Delicious, Easy Recipes Celebrating Family & Togetherness, the actress opens up about her eating habits — she went macrobiotic for a while after her dad, Bruce, was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998 — and shares some of her favorite recipes. But getting a swimsuit-ready figure hasn’t necessarily been easy for the Country Strong star. “I never thought that I’d be considered to have a good body,” she admits. “I was bony up top and kind of dumpy on the bottom. But my trainer, Tracy Anderson, completely changed my legs, butt, arms and stomach. I feel better than ever, too.” Paltrow, who does 45 minutes of cardio five days a week, supplements her workouts with “muscular structure work” — toning, realigning and lengthening. Throughout the day, she fuels with raw almonds, coconut water and juices, but doesn’t deny her cravings, either. “I say I always eat right, but last night, I had fried clams, pasta with duck sausage and two glasses of red wine,” she admits. “When I want to lose, I eat less pasta, bread and potatoes.” Calling her butt her problem area, the actress says she skips workouts when she’s on vacation, but enjoys feeling strong and healthy after breaking a sweat. “I saw a shot of myself in Barbados and was, like, all my hard work paid off,” she shares. “I’m 38, I have two kids, and I feel good.” For more on Paltrow’s diet and exercise routine, pick up the May copy of SELF or visit self.com.

At the same awards show, Heather Graham tried out a similar look, sporting a sleeveless peach number, pretty pumps and bright lipstick. And across the country at the Gatorade G Series Fit party in Beverly Hills, Minka Kelly showed off her curves in a cream-colored cap-sleeve dress (it had a silver zipper all the way up the back!) brightened by a fire engine red bag, heels and nails. People all over the world look to Gwyneth Paltrow for her seamless taste in fashion and food — plus her refreshing outlook on life — but who does she look to for inspiration? None other than her good friend, rap superstar Jay-Z. Paltrow interviewed the hip-hop mogul for her latest GOOP newsletter, asking all about his new “super cool website,” Life + Times, which she says is “canvassing everything that’s piquing his interest in the worlds of art, music, technology, design, sports, leisure, and style.” (What a mouthful!) But why did he want to create his own site in the first place? “I think it’s every human’s job to inspire others, to feed one another’s senses,” Jay-Z tells Paltrow. “Inspiration begets inspiration times infinity. Imagine if the person that was inspired to create the phonograph didn’t share it with the world.” And Paltrow wasted no time drilling the star on his all-time favorite inspirations in life, including food (chef and Paltrow pal Mario Batali is his pick) and fashion, a world he claims Marc Jacobs rules. “He takes the Bronx experience like 40 Below boots and bubble gooses [jackets] and puts it on the runway,” he says of the designer. But when Paltrow asks the question everyone is wondering — “You are the coolest man on Earth, how the f did you get like that?” — he reminds us all that behind every great man, there’s a great woman (in his case, wife Beyonce!). “I’m around great women, starting with my mom.
